KitchenAid is a brand known in households across the nation, including mine. So my expectations are extremely high for this brand, needless to say, they lived up to them then exceeded my expectations!!! First of all let’s talk about how simple yet beautiful this machine is, the plastic and the glass jars are very beautiful on the stand. Secondly this blender is a workhorse!! I was beyond impressed by the different levels of power this blender has, from level 1 to level 10…… simply amazing. The peak wattage of the blender is 1700! I put ice in blender and in SECONDS it was turned to SNOW!!! The blades power through anything you put in front of them. The blender is small and easy to store anywhere and it doesn’t take up hardly any counter space if this is something you would like to keep out on display! The lids on the plastic and glass jars have a very convenient release vent for heat/steam release. The base has a precision speed control knob, you can also turn that knob to pulse. Above the speed control knob there are some very convenient buttons: an on/off button, smoothie button, ice crush button, and clean button. The clean button turns cleaning the blender jar from a dangerous task to a quick and simple solution!!! KitchenAid has done it again and at a very reasonable price!!!! If you are looking for a blender please look into purchasing this powerhouse!!!

I decided to make a banana smoothie so I pressed the smoothie button, and it made my smoothie very quickly. Tonight I made daiquiris, and as shown in my video, this KitchenAid blender crushed an entire pitcher of ice on level 3 in under 13 seconds. The ice came out incredibly smooth with no chunks or excess melt, just perfectly crushed ice. I was even able to use skinny bendy straws without any clogging, which really says everything about the consistency. What impressed me most is how powerful this blender is. Level 3 handled ice effortlessly, yet the dial goes all the way up to 10, which gives you a real sense of how much power this motor has. The preset buttons are also a huge plus. The ice crush and smoothie settings work exactly as intended, and the clean setting makes quick rinsing fast and easy. I also love that it comes with both a thick glass jar that will take abuse and a plastic jar durable enough to go through the dishwasher. Both feel very heavy duty and will be extremely convenient when cooking or entertaining, especially when you need to blend multiple items back to back without stopping to wash in between. Both have lids which allow venting for letting heat and pressure escape, but only when you want to as the seal feels very tight on the lid otherwise. Design wise, it has a slim footprint and does not eat up counter space. At roughly 17 inches tall, it fits comfortably under most standard kitchen cabinets, and the slender base means it is not competing for valuable counter space with other appliances. If I had one small suggestion, it would be a retractable cord or a built in way to neatly store the cord, since there is not an obvious place to wrap it. That said, this is a very minor detail and does not take away from how outstanding this blender is overall. This blender delivers professional level performance at home, and I could not be happier with it.

The plastic jar is recommended for everyday use to avoid breaking the glass one. I personally don’t like using anything plastic with food so will only be using the glass one with caution. I find ice to be the most difficult thing to blend and this one had no problem doing so. It turned large ice cubes into shaved ice very quickly. It has a turn knob that controls the power. When blending soups level one is recommended. The higher the setting, the smoother the outcome. It does get pretty loud especially at the higher settings but this doesn’t bother me. Cleaning was a breeze and it has a preset cleaning setting as well as a smoothie setting and crushed ice setting. The box comes with a California warning but I’m assuming that’s due to the plastic jar. It is an average size blender and aesthetically pleasing. Seems well made and don’t see myself having any problems with it. The one thing that did disappoint me a little was that it did not include an instructional manual or recipe book as with most other blenders. It only included a safety manual. I was able to find the info I needed online, though mostly self explanatory, so not a big deal. Perhaps this was a packing oversight. Overall, I was very pleased with this blender and would highly recommend it. At this price point, it’s a no brainer.
