Once my built in ice maker broke after years of use, I took a chance on the 2.0 GE profile I’ve maker and have been nothing but please with how easy, fast, and great this unit works. Pretty much plug it in, and after going through the clean cycles, you have ice within the first hour of using it. Great Product and highly recommend!!

We owned the first generation Opal ice maker, and it was very good. Liked it so much, got a second one. The newer one made some good improvements - such as being quieter, less "squeaks" and noise when making ice. Fit and finish seems a little more refined. The ice bin appears to be a new design so it is less likely to pull all the way out by accident. So far so good!

I purchased this product a few months ago and so far we love it. It does make a bit of noise while producing ice but you quickly get used to it. You can program it to produce ice at night but I have not bothered with this yet. It requires regular cleaning (once per week) if you want clean, good tasting ice. The only issue I have encountered is the machine has incorrectly registered as "add water" a few times when the sidetank is full. I checked my hoses and ensured they were not pinched or blocked.

This produces a higher quality of ice than my refrigerator can make. The extruded pebble ice goes wonderfully with coke or other sodas. It’s also almost required for tiki (rum) drinks. I would seriously recommend the storage tower add on. I am currently refilling the tower with water about twice a day as the family enjoys this ice better than the foggy half moons our refrigerator makes.

I got this as a Christmas gift. I've been wanting one for a while, but they were sold out. I love the fact that I can have the "Sonic" ice at my fingertips instead of getting dressed and going down to my local Sonic just for a bag of ice. I absolutely love my Opal 2.0 with the side tank attachment!!!

Great size of ice. Rapidly makes ice and a nice feature is it stops automatically when the ice bin is full. Sound when functioning is noticeable but not a deterrent from use. Easy access to refilling the water reservoir. The WiFi controls work very well and automatically shuts down ice making at night and can restart at any desired time.

I had a cheap counter top ice maker to satisfy my ice chewing habit. It died last night so I committed to this investment this morning. Easy to set up, clean for first time use, and has been making ice ever since. So far so good! Having it continuously making ice is great! My previous model couldn't keep up. I was often waiting. Pretty quiet too. Hoping for a long life with this one!

I had the first generation of this ice maker from FirstBuild before it became GE. My old ice maker was loud and very slow making ice. The new updated version from GE now is much quieter, now has a WiFi connection that is much more robust and makes ice much faster. It was well worth the upgrade. The new ice maker also not only has WiFi scheduling but also integrates to Alexa allowing voice control as well.

I bought this nugget ice maker as a gift for my 5yo daughter’s birthday since she loves ice so much (haha). It’s gorgeous, sleek, and fits perfectly under my cabinets in our small butler’s pantry area where we store all of our coffee/beverage gadgets. Set up and initial cleaning were a breeze. Although a little lengthy, it was easy and necessary. I’m 5’3” and was able to lift the machine to the sink and back. I read previous reviews of the older version being loud but this one wasn’t at all. I’d compare the soft hum to a quieter version of the dishwasher running in the background. Ice started to form in about 15-20 minutes and the bin continuously became full with the best ice ever. When you turn the machine off. Ice melts back into the reservoir below the bin. Water is formed from that bottom reservoir as well as the side tank which is easily filled and can be place to the left or right of the machine. Everyone that has come over has gotten ice in amazement and I’ve already convinced 2 friends to get their own. I recommend this to everyone and only wish I had gotten it sooner!

We have had this just over 1 1/2 years. It started "acting up" about 5 months ago. It would say "add water" when the tank was full and not make ice. It has since started making this awful LOUD noise periodically during ice making. For the cost, IT IS NOT WORTH IT
