First, very good ice. Good soft porous texture that allows for your drink to seep in and soft to crunch so your dentist will be happy. Second, though the machine is designed to run 24/7, I found that by having an existing refrigerator with an ice maker/dispenser, I turned off the existing ice maker in my fridge and make ice once a week and pour this nugget ice in the bin. Works perfect for our family. A few tips I learned: by using the filtered water dispenser on the refrigerator to fill the Opal ice maker, I use filtered water without the need to buy the filter for the Opal. Once I make a hopper of ice, I put it in a plastic bag in the freezer while I'm making a second hopper of ice. Once that is ready, take out the plastic bag, drop it on the counter a few times and then pour it in your freezer ice bin (this keeps any ice that was still a bit wet in the Opal from sticking together). Also, when your done, you can wind up with an extra bag of ice in your freezer should you run low before making more. Overall, great product. Cleaned easy when it said to descale (but I didn't notice any buildup anywhere that I could see), runs quieter than our dishwasher and, like I said, we only use it for 10 or so hours a week. Love it!

I’ve had my profile for 3.5 years now and love it. It makes enough ice for the whole family. I fill my water jug with ice every morning and the ice is full again within an hour or so. It does make some noise but it’s not loud. The only issue I have is the unit is easy enough to clean but the hoses cannot be replaced without taking the unit apart which I wouldn’t attempt. That aside having ready made nugget ice always on hand is great!

Skeptical at first, quickly changed our minds as we were enjoying “sonic” type ice within an hour of plugging it in. The only downside is that the scoop is a bit difficult to use and almost always end up with a few pieces of ice on the counter. I would suggest a fold down front on the ice bin to make it easier and cleaner to get the ice with the scoop.

Never have a laid my eye on a more glorious sight. The ice from this thing is freaking awesome. The first bit of each batch does come out like a slushie. But it melts and recirculates the water to make more ice and the bin drains so there isn't a pool of water in with the ice. I downloaded the App and set it up to just make ice 24/7 that way I dont have to manually turn it on ever. The initial cleaning process was a bit involved and it could use some RGB, but thats just my opinion lol

The best ice machine EVER!! It’s absolutely perfect. Perfect soft ice biggest!! It’s quiet, you can use the app and set when you want it to make ice! It’s incredibly indulgent, but after 3 cheap ice makers we researched, read all the good reviews and watched YouTube videos. It was clear this is the best model on the market. I’m thankful we bought this! With summer here, cocktails are a breeze and iced coffee is even better with nugget ice!!

This is a great small ice maker. We use it very frequently. We refill the external tank about once a week. The programmable ice making times is nice. The unit isn't very loud but it does make some noise when making ice. It's nice to have it make ice overnight or parts of the day when we're not around.

It looks nice, and does operate when it wants to. Otherwise, I’m order to setup the Wi-Fi, you have to register your product through an app, that’s a third party with GE. I used it for one day and it already requires to descale and clean. I set a timer for when to start making ice on the day we used it and it never operated so we had less ice than anticipated for our gathering. There’s a ouddoe of water in the r ice bin before it starts making ice, which would melt the ice much quicker in the reservoir. Again, it looks nice, it makes ice but all of our appliances that came with the new build house are GE and we’ve had to have them serviced or replaced within two years. Curious how long this ice maker will last.

The ice it makes is advertised. Soft enough to chew yet it won’t melt fast. No complaints about the ice making capability. However the machine makes noises during the defrost. Within two weeks of owning the machine, the noise during defrost has gotten much worse. Going to return this machine.

Great size of ice. Rapidly makes ice and a nice feature is it stops automatically when the ice bin is full. Sound when functioning is noticeable but not a deterrent from use. Easy access to refilling the water reservoir. The WiFi controls work very well and automatically shuts down ice making at night and can restart at any desired time.

My family loves this ice maker. We finished our basement and put in a wet bar, this was a must have. Very convenient having the app, can tell it to start making ice prior to needing it. You can set up schedules when it makes ice etc. It’s nice having the side water tank, it can make a lot of ice. My kids are drinking a lot more water, just because they like eating the ice. This thing is a hit! It has a cleaning mode and the app recommends when to clean. I’ve descaled it a few times just like I do my coffee makers. Nothing too difficult and there’s plenty YouTube videos.
