We tried two other ice makers and were sorely disappointed. When we decided to invest a little more money into this model, our expectations were high, but also exceeded when it arrived and we had our first taste! I loved it so much that I purchased another one for a friend of mine who was overjoyed!

So far so good but have only had for about three weeks. I love the ice it makes but I’m a little worried about how some people say it will only last a few months or a year or two at the most. I should’ve gotten an extended warranty. But I’m only using distilled water and I plan to sanitize it next week for the first time after the initial cleaning. My purchase included the side tank but I found, so far, that I did not really need it although it worked perfectly, however, l’m glad I have it and may reattach it eventually. I like the looks of the machine but it is a little loud but it doesn’t run all the time. Our kitchen and living room and dining room are all in one big room so the low hum can be noticeable at times.

I’m only giving it 3 stars because it worked great while it worked. We cleaned it regularly and made sure proper filters were installed. It only lasted us about 6 months before it fell apart from the inside out. I feel like it was put together by a 5 year old. I’m still trying to get a replacement but it’s difficult to get ahold of the right person. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that we didn’t just throw away several hundred dollars.

COOLEST ICE MAKER EVER!!! Pun intended haha! It’s so sleek, so efficient, I LOVE that it’s wifi integrated and has the extra water tank so I don’t have to fill it as much and it’s an energy saver and the ice is always fresh!!! The GOOD ICE!!! Feeling luxurious like a 5 star hotel in my own home!!!

The ice maker makes wonderful pellet ice. The only think I don't like is that when you first turn it on, it drips water into the ice receiving area which makes the first ice it makes very damp. After that, the ice is fine. Not that this is a concern because melted ice will drip back into the reservoir. It does make plenty of ice. Once it gets going, it will drain the reservoir in a few hours and then will stop making ice. Because the ice receptacle is not refrigerated, the ice will eventually melt. I suggest emptying the bin into the fridges ice maker bin (of course with that ice maker turned off). You can then dispense the ice as you normally would. It is also recommended that you use purified water or distilled water so scale does not build up. I agree. So far, so good.

We bought 2 ice makers 1st one we had to return as it was not making any ice. 2nd one we returned because it made so much noise every 45 minutes for like 15-20 minutes. It was so loud we had to turn the tv volume at 60 cause that machine made the loudest noise ever when it was defrosting.

Amazing machine! Beautiful appearance. Matches all my other GE profile appliances. Ice is perfect for drinks and crunching! I used to buy Sonic ice but now i have it at home. Always fresh! My entire family enjoys the ice too. You will not be disappointed and yes. It’s worth the money.

If you can stomach the price tag you cant beat it.. best ice at the house unless you spending about 2 grand for a professional machine that does the same ice. My only issue is I'd like a maintenance video on how to clean and deep clean this machine properly.

I looked everywhere for a machine that made this restaurant type of ice. I saw Opal back when it was a startup but it was too expensive for me and the reviews weren’t great. Now that GE took over and seem to have worked out the bugs, the ratings have improved. It makes a lot of ice and is perfect for those of us who snack on it.

Love the ice & easy to use. However it does make really loud squeaky sounds when the components become too frozen. The machine does sense this and kicks itself into defrost mode, but sometimes it takes a while before it actually switches over to defrost making the sound very unpleasant. For a premium price, I expect more from this product. Glad I bought it for a much more price.
