This machine was easy to set up and use. It makes more ice than I can use, so I utilize the app to schedule ice making. Cleaning it was a bit of a pain because it is heavy and I have to move it across the kitchen. I would definitely recommend it to others.

I’m only giving it 3 stars because it worked great while it worked. We cleaned it regularly and made sure proper filters were installed. It only lasted us about 6 months before it fell apart from the inside out. I feel like it was put together by a 5 year old. I’m still trying to get a replacement but it’s difficult to get ahold of the right person. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that we didn’t just throw away several hundred dollars.

My husband purchased this opal ice maker new for me for our 30th Anniversary. I wanted to wait to write a review to give time for an honest opinion. I love it!!! It’s awesome. It is well worth the money. While my daughter was pregnant , I would make several trips To her house to deliver special ice. Thank you GE Opal for an awesome well invested purchase.

Just used the Opal for my first mass family visit. Worked perfectly and the family preferred the Opal ice over the freezer ice. Side reservoir is so easy to refill as needed based upon usage. Low humming when running was unobtrusive and barely noticable.

We did out research for about 4 months on ice makers and so glad we went with the opal. Besides the beautiful color that looks amazing on our kitchen counter, it’s perfect ice! The best part about this is: makes ice quickly, if you connect it to your phone you can turn it on from your phone, any ice that melts that water just gets reused. We love it and highly recommend it!

We purchased it on Nov 8,2023. It’s beautiful, fits nicely on our counter, easy to set up & makes a lot of great ice. We installed a whole house water softening system before we purchased so we don’t have any scale build up to contend with & the ice is delicious! I give 4 stars because it makes some pretty loud creaky squeaky noises that happen 6 or 7 times during the ice making process. I may exchange it for a new one & try again. :)

This ice maker was a Christmas gift from my parents. Even though the complex I live in at the moment has an ice machine down the hall, they know how much I love the ‘good ice’ since I’ll be moving to Mississippi Gulf Coast in the summer. The only thing is it shows there to be a tray that comes with it — there wasn’t one in the box when I opened it :( I put a tray under it but it’s not the right size for the side kick reservoir to fit where it should go.

Makes ice quickly and it is soft and chewable. Chills drinks fast and they are really cold. Doesn't take up mech room and the side tank makes it quick and easy to add water. A must. My son recommended this model and all the good things he said about it were true.

Didn't think I would use it much, bought it mainly for my better half. I absolutely love it!! I find that I'm drinking more water during the day using nugget ice. We find ourselves making fruit drinks like Brazilian Lemonade every day usually twice a day. I love it, I can't say enough. It is easy o set up and instructions are easy to follow.

I have only had the machine working for a week. Having a little trouble with cleaning light staying on all the time. Could not turn off the machine when defrosting light was on. I went to breaker in garage turned off ice maker that way. Past two days screaming sound coming from machine. After turning off breaker last night it has worked fine all day. Maybe by turning off power to ice maker it reset something. Get back to me in two weeks and I will Let you know if problems still exists
