I researched lots of ice makers, and the GE Profile kept coming up every time, number one. It is the best nugget ice I have ever had!!!! It's better than the fountain drinks in the store. The ice maker was easy to set up and easy to clean. I'm a 71 yr old lady and I did it with no help. I have 3 glasses a day, and I will be having more in the summer. It was sooooo worth it!!!!! I have wanted one for years. I love it❤️

The machine was super easy to set up. When I first set it up and cleaned it, I got water all over the place as I didn't have the machine next to the sink for the water to dump into. It took a couple rounds for me to get the hang of it, but then it was a piece of cake. I'm so glad I read all the reviews to help me decide whether or not to get the extra side tank and thankful to the reviewers who said they're so glad they got the extra side tank. Now I'm the one who's so glad I got the extra side tank. We go through this ice pretty quickly and having that extra tank prevents me from having to fill the machine every single day. Of course, the ice is the best. You're probably looking at this ice maker BECAUSE of the nugget ice. It's so soft and easy to chew. Everybody loves it. And you get ice within the first 20 minutes of plugging it in. The ice maker box fills up very quickly. The instant you scoop ice out and close the drawer, the maker starts filling back up. There is a noticeable sound, but it's not enough to bother me. The light inside the ice maker is a nice touch. It gives my kitchen a nice soft glow at night.

I bought this ice maker about 6 months ago it is great I love it. the only thing about it is the limit switch that tells it when the ice maker is full doesn't work too good, when the ice starts melting it doesn't come back on you have to open it and move the ice and then shut it again then it starts working but other than that it's wonderful I love it!

I love the ice it makes, and it takes about 2 hours or so to make a good amount of ice. The ice maker is for a family of 2, plenty of ice and never ran out of ice between 2 people, even when we use large 40oz containers. There are a few flaws, cleaning is not that easy. I wish the cleaning is easier or have less things to clean. The second is, you can't connect a water line to this. For something that I need to refill twice a week, I'm willing to split off the fridge line to this ice maker. Especially, I don't use the fridge to make ice any more. The noise is a bit annoying if you're in the same room or the next. But it's fine. Last gripe about this, water drips once you open door to get ice out. The tray it comes with does catches it. With the flaws, it's still a very good ice maker. One thing you should consider is to use filtered water and not use tap water. Tap water (depending where you live), it could make you clean this more often. Leaving hard water in the lines are very hard to clean. I don't use the GE filter because it didn't seem like it would be as good as my own water filter. The price is a bit high for a "ice maker" but if you like the nugget ice, or like chomping on ice and you got the money for it. This one is legit.

This is probably the best invest for inside my home that we have made. I'm an ice eater and crushed is what I need. We constantly run out but not anymore. You would think that it would take forever for this little machine to make ice it absolutely does NOT. Within an hour maybe 2 I go from an empty container to full. The tank is a must and it lasts a while. I might refill it every other day or so. I've never been a fan of GE products but this might sway me over to more GE products. Even bigger benefit is the app. I don't have to be home to turn it on.

After 10.5 months, consistent issues started—it wouldn't produce ice, received add water errors. We have watched endless tutorials for trouble shooting, only ever used distilled water in it, and ran the clean and disinfect cycles monthly (every 3-4 weeks) as directed by the manual. Not worth the money

Overall the ice maker is good and does the job it was designed for but from initial installation I notice, what i think is, a flaw. When the machine starts to make Ice, it spill water out at first few seconds that went into ice bin. If there was some kind of "mesh" just before the spill over for the ice it would allow the water to fall back into the reservoir and not into the bin with the ice. I also think that the ice bin is a little small. 3 lbs? Maybe the 5 to 10 lbs range would be better.

This ice maker works great for about 3 months. Then it starts sounding like a dying cat. Then it sounds like a construction crew outside your house. Then it sounds like a construction crew inside your house. I've already replaced under warranty once thinking I had bad luck because it is so highly rated, but the replacement does the same thing. A quick look at the 1 star reviews left confirms my complaints.

Love the ice maker and how quickly it can produce but there is this obnoxious noise. Every day, two to three times there is a loud churning noise that goes on for about 10 minutes. I don't know what causes it but I hoping that there is a fix. Aside from that, I would recommend it. Maybe I got the faulty one!

Fortunately for me this appliance is not an everyday use device, so I'm banking or not having a lot of the issues that seem so prevalent with the consumers that use it 24/7. The sanitize and descaling instructions are very clear, nice touch with the ultraviolet light to keep the bacteria out. Love the side tank, is to the point where you just about can let the machine run and I find that with the reserve tank completely filled it will go about 8 hours without needing to refill it. We go through so much ice in my family so I actually store it in 2 gallon bags and multiple freezers for use when needed. I find it quiet and although I've only had it a month it's met all of my expectations!
