I purchased this last month as an anniversary gift. She makes ice about every third day. So far, it keeps me from having to go Sonic every other day to buy a bag of ice. I would have given 5 stars, but I'm waiting to see the longevity of this product. I did purchase a 4 year extended warranty.

I Love ❤️ my Ice Maker! My ONLY complaint would be that the ice melts after time. It doesn’t stay cold enough to keep the container consistently full. Other then that. It’s all good. It sure saves me on buying bags of ice from Sonic every week. Lol.

This unit works way better than the 1.0 version. The last one was extremely noisy and had so many issues. We now only use distilled water and haven’t had any issues other that air bubbles in the line after water gets too low. We use a turkey baster syringe-filled with water and shoot into the fill hole. Works amazing and don’t know what we would do without it. Our Profile fridge has an extremely small ice bin so we use to run out like crazy.

Installation was simple. Capacity of the ice bin is good and having the side tank is a lifesaver, I’m glad that I opted for that as well. The noise level is medium, I wish it was quieter, but it’s tolerable for the benefit of having nugget ice. The cleaning requirements is a bit cumbersome, at least the descaling process. It requires a good 24 hours to devote to it and that’s a lot of time investment for something that is not a pet or a child. I’ve only been using filtered water, yet the buildup is Much higher than I would’ve expected from using filtered water. It would be really nice to have a option to connect a filter somewhere along the hose line that goes from the side tank reservoir, leading into the icemaker that the customer could purchase the specific type of descaling and filtering type filter needed for their specific area and water hardness so that you could simply just use tapwater, and it would be filtered and processed properly before entering icemaker, thus protecting all the components inside of the icemaker. When I unplugged it to do the cleaning and scaling process for the first time, I noticed there was white substances leaking through the metal seams at/near the front of the machine. This is a bit concerning to me, as I can’t tell if it’s coolant leakage OR some type of acid or what is coming out there. I love the way. It is working so far in the ice production, I’m a little bit nervous about spending this much money and having it leaking stuff out of the “seams” this early in its life. I’m also not thrilled with having to be cleaning and descaling every 2 to 3 weeks and would’ve hoped for a better process for an appliance of this high dollar amount and what I perceive as top of the line equipment.

A full batch of ice melts/evaporates by up to 50% overnight at 71 degrees F and 55% RH. I’m awaiting my next electric bill to see if it consumes a lot of energy. Could use some noise reduction. Requires a fair amount of maintenance. Looks great on the counter.

I love this ice machine! I’ve been wanting this machine for a while and finally pulled the trigger and purchased it. Although it took longer than I anticipated to figure out how to set it up when it was all said and done it was worth the time. Buy the machine….you won’t regret it!

I bought this because I wanted the convenience of ice on demand, the durability of GE products, and who doesn’t love nugget ice?! It does what it says without any issues thus far, and we have more space in our freezer! We have a pretty small fridge without an ice maker so it was a pain to make several trays of ice and empty them into the bucket. Inevitably, someone would leave an ice cube or two without filling the ice trays. And ice trays also get dirty and cause all that stuff to go in your ice. Now i don’t have to worry about it anymore! I use distilled water in mine, and I’ve found it doesn’t use too much of the water from the reservoir, just the water from the ice as it melts. Cleaning it is easy, and I’ve heard it should really be kept up on, on a weekly basis. The machine starts making ice as soon as the ice level drops, whether that means it’s melting, or you open the door to pull some out. Basically, you’ll always have ice unless you use the scheduling feature on the app. I definitely recommend this to others!

Our family is loving having an always ready supply of the best just right crunchy nuggets of ice in view on the countertop. From ice water to cold smoothies to iced coffee, all are much easier to make when your ice is just a scoop away. Game changer.

Purchased this ice maker for my wife and daughter for Christmas last year. They both love the Nugget Ice "Sonic Ice". They really enjoy being able to make their drinks at home with the same kind of ice. Ice maker is great a making ice and the reservoir comes in clutch in parties.

So far this has been just wonderful. The installation instructions could stand to be expanded, at least for me. The type of ice it makes keeps my drinks colder and with a more true taste. I love the options I have as far as controlling it via the app. I love it to have a lower selling price, perhaps that will come as more ice makers hit the market.
