This ice maker performs exactly as we needed it, to ensure our family of four never runs out of ice. We each drink up to 100 ounces a day of cold water and drinks so this machine is impressive, which makes the cleaning and water refill well worth it!

After our ice maker began to freeze up constantly we began to look for a separate on counter ice maker. The GE Profile met all of our check marks and makes the best ice. It was easy to set up and begin running. For anyone who loves good ice, this is the product for you. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Great product. Perfect nugget ice - quick, easy to use and set up. Impressive design and a really impressive machine. Well designed and substantial yet not too heavy. Directions are clear. Easy to use. Would recommend to anyone who likes iced drinks!

The power button on the front is easily hit and turns it off. The ice constantly melts because it’s not refrigerated. Since it’s always melting the lower ice is wet and waters down drinks. I mainly use it for water so it’s fine. But I wanted to for dranky dranks. It makes ice fast but if you’re filling up a larger yeti cup it doesn’t make enough for two. I do love that it’s munchable ice. It’s a lot better than the standard cheap counter top ice makers. But in my opinion it’s not worth the extra hundreds of dollars yet.

Product works fantastic! Easy to use, wifi was a little weird to set up, but once we got it working it's super nice. You are able to set it up on a schedule. It lets you know when it needs to be cleaned through the app.. Makes wonderful ice quickly and it's rather quiet for an ice maker. Over all extremely pleased with this product! I had the original Opal ice maker and it died on me after a little over 2 years. This one is greatly improved!! Totally love it!!

By far the best nugget ice maker out there. My first one lasted just over a year. The second one only lasted 10 months. Hoping for longer appliance life on this one. I have tried other nugget ice makers. ice wasnt as soft as this one and they were much louder.

Love this machine! On hot summers we enjoy slushies or cold lemonade. And it even came in handy when I had knee surgery. The only downfall is the hard water calcium build up even with using filters causes mechanical issues. We are on our second one and it’s definitely worth buying extended warranty when you purchase your machine. I got my first ice machine over 2 years ago and convinced my aunt to get one too, we both love them!

We love this ice maker especially the chewy nugget ice it makes. I love to crunch ice and this ice maker makes plenty of safe for the teeth chewable ice. It's also surprising how quickly it produces it. Even though we use it a lot my only complaint is the cleaning indicator calls for a descaling quite frequently and to clean it right, it usually takes an hour or two and that's using a commercial ice maker descaling solution rather that using vinegar and letting it soak for 12 hours. I will admit every time I clean it I can see small pieces of scale floating in the water reservoir. I then usually have to drain, refill and run cleaning again several times to get all the scale flushed out. Also I get water drips from water drops being on the bottom of the bin when tilting it out to get ice. Other than this, I would have given it 5 stars but I would still purchase this again and will get another if this one ever breaks.

When we received our profile opal 2.0 it was very easy to assemble and to clean! The machine is very appealing with the way that it has been designed and the light is very helpful when we use it in the later hours of the day! The ice is perfect for chewing and for chilling drinks! We add the ice to our water bottles and it lasts for many hours. It makes ice quickly and quietly! We really like the machine and all of its abilities! Its size allows it to fit well in our kitchen and we have a large family and it is able to keep up with our use! GE did a wonderful job producing the machine!

I never write reviews, but in this case I'm making an exception. I want to forewarn potential purchasers. I got an ice maker for my wife for Christmas and was really excited for the machine because my wife loves pebble ice. The ice this machine makes is really great pebble ice. The problem is that within two weeks of setting it up, carefully following instructions, the machine began to make the loud screeching noise that some of the reviews have referred to. The noise wouldn't go away even when I turned the machine off. I had to unplug it to get the noise to stop. The ice was so good I decided to give the machine another try, but not much later had the same thing happen. Within just a few weeks of setting up the machine, I had probably 5 or 6 incidents of the noise that in most cases wouldn't go away unless I unplugged the machine. And it's not just a small, annoying noise; it's a loud screeching/high pitched humming sound. I have no idea what causes the noise -- I'm not an engineer -- but this is to me definitely a design issue. It sound like maybe the machine internally creates a vacuum of some kind which makes the noise. Anyway, as good as the ice this machine makes, I would definitely urge you not to buy it. If it actually worked without the noise, it would be well worth it, but the noise makes it not tolerable. Really too bad.
