This was given to me as a Christmas present. While I always thought it would be nice to have a pellet ice maker, I never thought I really needed one…until now!!! The set up is super simple, and the ice is amazing. I repair appliances for a living, and a have to say that i have always hated servicing undercounter icemaker. They are a pain to maintain, and customers rarely take care of them. The Opal 2.0 is easy to maintain, and it makes ice so quickly. Love it!!!

So far we love this icemaker the Opal 2.0. This is our second one. The previous model started making noises 6 months after we bought it.. and then failed completely after 8 months. My advice is to buy an extended warranty! Hoping the newest model is more reliable, as it makes terrific ice in great quantity

This is a great product. Easy to use, makes fantastic ice and looks great sitting on the counter. We love 'Sonic Ice'--if you've ever had a drink from the Sonic Food Chain, you know what I am talking about. The ice is soft and keeps drinks cold for a long time. It is a great addition to our kitchen and our friends love it.

This is the loudest, squeakiest ice maker I have ever owned. The sound is akin to basketball shoes on a newly waxed floor. You know it is making ice, so if you do not have the app, no worries, you can hear it from any room in the house. I guess some ice makers are quiet and some are very loud. Very disappointing for the price. The ice is wonderful though.

Produces that Sonic Ice that everyone loves. Everyone in the house is hooked on it now. Friendly warning - make sure you filter your water. If you don’t use a filter or take the proper steps cleaning the unit then you’ll have trouble down the road and your unit will not work properly. No instructions on how to connect the unit to WiFi. Had to call Opal for assistance.

Love the ice! I’ve been wanting a soft ice maker for years! Fits on counter perfectly and is easy to use. The only thing that would make it better is if it held the ice longer in the bin without as much melt. It is constantly melting and remaking ice.

This unit not only looks fabulous in the black Is stainless still it works like a dream! You can connect wirelessly to it with Wi-Fi and you can turn it on and off with the app on your phone. This will make your home look and act like a rock n roll star!!

Very disappointed in this product. As soon as we turned it on to make ice water started pouring into the bin where the ice would go. The unit began making ice quickly and we were happy with that. But after it was full and we removed our first scoop of ice the unit started trying to make ice right away and water began pouring into the bin on top of our full ice bin and melting the ice. The unit stopped trying to make ice and began displaying “add water”. Even though my side tank was over half full of water. I filled the tank up anyway and still displays “Add water”. If I pull the bin out and look there is water in the inside reservoir. But when I shut the machine water will again pour into the bin and after a few minutes without making ice, will again display “Add water” and stop running without making any ice. Very disappointed. I read about these issues, not both happening at the same time but individually.  I had hoped they were isolated issues. But it does not appear that they are. 

Ice maker is great! After every use ice maker starts to make more when the door closes. The whole family makes use for it, sodas, iced coffee. Perfect size ice. If I have 1 dislike/concern it’s the noise sometimes get a bit loud. Not all the time, just random.

After hearing from several friends about this product I couldn’t wait to purchase. The first 2 weeks it was great until I started noticing black pieces, what seem to be plastic, imbedded in the ice. I’ve cleaned the machine several times as well as the initial cleaning prior to use - still occurs.
