The ice maker is extra easy to use, clean, and enjoy. My 5 yr old granddaughter tells me constantly that it makes the best ice ever. It's fast and keeps the bin full. Very tasty and is great for the holiday season drinks. I absolutely love it and don't know what I would do without it! Thank you GE you've done it again.

I love this ice maker. My sons a builder and he has two of these in his home. The texture of the ice is great for anyone who loves eating the ice as they drink. Easy to eat, crunchy, tiny ice. The whole family loves it. I'm thinking about getting one for my office.

Although setup is a bit involved, knowing that it assures clean & safe ice makes it worth the effort. We use distilled water since our well water is very hard & the resulting ice is great!!! Hoping that it continues to operate at this level for a long time. The app is helpful but not a lot of features - but there really isn't much to operate. Highly recommend.

We love the ice from our Opal 2. The only things keeping us from giving it a perfect 5 is it isa bit noisy while running, there is no option to plumb the unit in to a water line and the ice in the storage container seems to melt a little the longer it is in there. That said, we bought this unit for the ice and for that it gets a 5.

I purchased this opal when my ice maker in the fridge broke down and it produced enough ice for a family of 5. My wife and I love chewing on the small nuggets it makes. We also use this to make smoothies which doesn't put a strain on the blender and it comes out really good.

I love it! I just hope the ice keeps up during the summer. Currently, the weather is cold, and I'm not sure how well it will do in the summer due to the ice slightly melting over night when it's not making ice. The unit is not “refrigerated “ so the ice naturally melts if it's not in use and not actively making the ice.

I have owned three in 5 years. They all stop working despite cleaning regularly and using a filter. Last one broke before warranty and it was not simply replaced . I was required to send back to company for repair. I will not be purchasing another one. For the $$ I can buy cheaper ones for disposable ice machines. The ice was the best but the frustration is too much.

We love the ice that this produces. have had hours probably five months or so. What I do not like is how noisy it is. Not the ice dropping into the bucket but it has this hissing repetitive respirator breathing type noise. It sounds like you're next to someone in a hospital room and they are on a ventilator. so we keep it in a separate room then the kitchen.

Absolutely love this ice maker! I was hesitant due to so many "eh" reviews, bit the bullet and just ordered one with side tank. Been using for over a month now and beats any other ice available! I start it and let it make 2 or 3 gallon bags at a time then shut it down. Its does make a little noise but its an icemaker.... dont recall ever needing to hold meetings or phone conversations etc around an icemaker doing its job. Some people complain about anything and everything.

Love the nugget ice. The only problem I have is the ice maker will not work when the filter is installed. I use water from my refrigerator which has a filter but the water in ice maker still needs a filter because it is not removed with just the screen.
