We purchased this for a spare master bedroom to provide a bit of air circulation because it's an upstairs corner room. This fandelier replaced a small chandelier. You'll need to use fan rated junction box to support the weight of this unit. The instructions both in print and online are pretty good. If you're a competent do-it-yourselfer, you can handle installing this on your own. I would recommend extending the antenna from the green control box down through the bottom of the ceiling trim. This way, the fan will communicate better with the remote control. (see photo) We have 9 ft. ceilings in our home and the size of this unit scales very nicely in the 14' x 14' bedroom we installed it in. It's not too big and doesn't overwhelm the room it's in. I think the unit is well built and packaged. Whether the electronics pass the test of time remains to be seen.

Pictures don't do this light fixture justice! I'm not crazy about the looks of a fan but when you are in your 50s, it's a must at night. It turned out to be my favorite light fixture in the whole house! So elegant & organic!
