Just so you know that if you are using the Bagel setting, it will only toast on one side. When using the bagel function, only one side of the elements is used for each slot - only the inner elements are On in Bagel mode. If you are using the regular toast feature and experiencing unevenness. We recommend reaching out to GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737 and letting them know about this issue. Hello, we appreciate your review! We are glad to hear you enjoy the toaster but also understand the burden of not having one side toasted as intended. When using the bagel feature for 1 side toast, we suggest leaving the browning control to your preferred setting then insert your item into the slots with the cut side toward the inside of the toaster. This bagel setting is designed to only toast 1 side. If this does not work, taking advantage of the limited warranty can help as well.
