The flannel is nice and soft but has some stiffness in the collar which I prefer. The red pattern is one I have not seen before but resembles a traditional plaid. After washing the material stayed similar size and maintained softness. I would characterize this as a medium warmth flannel. Nice option on a day with a light chill.
