This worked so well, it didn't have a chemical smell but I have asthma due to over exposure to chlorine and eventhough I couldn't smell it i could feel it in my lungs. So if you're sensitive ventilate well.

Cleans out the drains with ease. I pour it in and let it sit for about thirty minutes and then rinse with near boiling water. Works every time to keep drains flowing properly.
