I bought this for myself and loved it. However, I needed to exchange it because it stopped working. I had cleaned It on a regular basis so I was stymied as to what the problem was. I bought one for my son and I went to his home to use his machine and it stopped also. In the meantime his has started working again after he cleaned it. In retrospect, i “think” that the machine stopped because it was clogged. I grind my coffee on the finest grind I can and although I cleaned it often, I think the oil-build up might have been the problem. Any thoughts? Judi

I purchased this coffee grinder as a replacement for a much more expensive grinder that had stopped working. I know this one will not last forever, because I had this same model grinder previously and it had stopped working as well. It does the job for now. There is a reason why Cuisinart has the word "Discontinued" in the product name.

This burr grinder is the 2nd I've owned. The 1st, from another manufacturer, did not last a week before it's motor burnt out. The Cuisinart brand has held up 4x as long already. The differences in design and sturdiness are astounding. For a $10 difference, I feel like I've received so much more than the other. The hopper holds up to a half pound of beans. There are 18 grind settings. Everything that is removable is dishwasher safe (big plus in my house). The grinder has the same quality that I have come to expect from Cuisinart. I only wish I would've seen it before I found the other one. Would buy again but don't think that'll be for a while.

I had done my homework when I was search for a good quality coffee grinder. I am very please with the choose I made. I like the size, all the functions and style of the grinder. You can adjust how much coffee beans to grind as well as choose the setting from coarse to fine when grinding the coffee beans. I’d read the opinions of others regarding this grinder and I disagree with you all about the noise. If my coffee grinder didn’t make any noise I would had thought something is wrong with it. It’s easy to use and practical. I would highly recommend this coffee grinder.

Great advantage to be able to select the grind based upon the type of coffeemaker you’re using. It’s also nice to just turn it on and it automatically stops when the appropriate grind volume has been met. The unit is quite loud and receptacle is difficult to empty completely.

Jury is still out. Better than a blade chopper, but not sure if the mess is worth the hassle. The static electricity in the plastic box makes mess every time I've used it, even after reading about the "hack" of putting some water droplets in the hopper before grinding. The coffee grounds stick to the sides of the box, fly around in the air due to static, make a mess when pouring them out, stick to the lid ... not a fan of the detachable lid, which always leaves a mess. You can't set it down because it will get coffee grounds on whatever surface you put it on. Also, on the dial, I've got it over at the end of the coarse setting and am not sure it's as coarse as it needs to be for drip coffee or even precise pourovers.

This works great! The options for the coarseness of the grinds are perfect, you just need to test it a little bit to get the desired grind. It doesn't take up much space, it's easy to use and clean. It's sitting in my pantry ready for fresh coffee grounds anytime!

The grinder works fine, and I am happy with it, but the ground coffee is a little inconsistent. When grinding on a medium to coarse setting, there is a lot of fine ground coffee in the bin. If using the screen filter that is included, that fine coffee will go through it. When using paper filters, this is not a problem.

We bought this a couple of weeks ago. Very dissatisfied. The design is poor: the cup selection bar only increases by increments of 2. The bar mechanism itself is cheap. The square shape of the basin to capture the grounds is not compatible with the round filter in your coffee maker. The basin leaves a mess when you pull it from the platform. The lip on the basin to make it easier to open captures grounds that leave another mess when opened. The grinder does not work as efficiently as the older model so you’re never sure how many cups has ground. My older Cuisinart grinder was so accurate that I didnt need to use the measuring spoon. Couldn’t return it because I ordered from you over the phone and lost the order number and the confirmation on the back of the registration email wasn’t enough. Went to a brick and mortar store to buy a different brand.
