Supreme Grind - not so supreme ?!?!!?

I purchased the unit in mid-February. It said that you could grind roughly 1/2-pound per "cycle". When I tried that … the machine kept shutting off, after about 20-30 seconds … and I had to keep hitting the "start button", for it to continue. I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong …. but I had to hit the start-button multiple times, before it finished the "cycle". I finally got through the pound-of-coffee. There was quite a mess to clean up afterwards too - so perhaps I ground it too fine ?!?! I'll have to try again, and see if I get the same results.

Great Style n Features

I am on my second Cuisinart Burr Grinder n so far it has worked well my first one did not work all the time only after using it for a month. I wish The makers of Cuisinart would make their products here in the USA with the Quality that is second to None !.

Great and compact coffee/ espresso bean grinder

Gets the job done! Simple and easy to understand and select a custom setting, depending on the type of coffee you desire to brew. It's a little loud, but it's short-lived. It's not a large appliance, and can easily be stored in a cabinet or on the counter.

Good quality for the price, but Extremely Loud!

This was an upgrade from my previous blade grinder, also a Cuisinart. This unit is much more flexible in terms of coffee grind size, and produces a good, uniform grind whatever size is selected. It's easy to clean, doesn't take up a great deal of counter space, and does a good job for a reasonable price. My only complaint about this unit so far, and the reason I docked at 1 star, is that it is extremely loud. I live in an apartment, and frequently have to grind coffee early in the morning. I'm always afraid that I'm going to be disturbing The Neighbors. I seriously have a vacuum cleaner that makes less noise than this thing does! I don't know if it's possible to add additional noise shielding or modify the motor somewhat so it's not quite so noisy oh, but I would recommend looking into it.

A little messy, but great for every type of coffee

Pros: Adjustable coarseness allows for drip, espresso, and french-press grinds. Creates a very even grind regardless of coarseness setting. Easy to use grind amount adjustment, and fillable hopper for beans. Cons: Very loud and takes a while to grind a 12-cup amount (but not too bad on either account). The main issue is the grounds receptacle. The plastic receptacle gets static-y so the finer grinds kinda get everywhere and the lid holds onto a lot of grounds as well. It is also a bit fussy when trying to replace in the grinder. If Cuisinart could improve the receptacle on this grinder, it would be a 5-star piece for sure

Great Product x 2

My first Cuisinart coffee grinder faithfully provided me freshly ground coffee for over seven years. It was versatile, easy to use, and handsome. I was disappointed when it stopped working recently, but I was determined to replace it with the same model. I’m glad to have the exact same model on my baker’s rack and look forward to several years of delicious coffee made from the coffee ground by my new Cuisinart Supreme Coffee Grinder.

One Cuisinart Supreme Burr Grinder For Each House!

This is my 2nd Cuisinart burr grinder. The first was given to me second-hand from a friend who upgraded to a fancier Cuisinart model. It still faithfully grinds our beans at our winter home in AZ. When the grinder (another brand) that came with our already furnished summer home konked out recently I searched for a new Cuisinart….just like the one in AZ. I spied a terrific deal online & couldn’t be happier. We all use different brew methods. Aeropress, pour over & drip. Occasionally a French press. There’s a grind for every preference. Great burr grinder, great price! We’re caffeinated & happy.

BAD

This highly recommended grinder did not perform as described from the very first use. It would not grind unless I held the start button down for the duration of the grind. I discovered that it that the clear plastic container had to be firmly pushed into the machine. Finally after 5 weeks of battle, a small little piece of the container broke away and the machine quit altogether. I returned it.

Powders grind on medium-Loud! will wake the dead!

There are some pluses and minuses to this grinder first let me go over the minuses. The grinder powders much of the grind even on medium. Although I don't want to make it to course, I think that it could do better with a more consistent grind instead of creating a lot of powder that it does on medium. This also causes an issue with the reservoir that it goes into. it cakes on the inside and is hard to get out and requires you to use that little brush. That's really a hassle, and to get it out of the reservoir and into the filter of the coffee pot is another tricky deal. I have found that I have to take my number 4 cone filter and put around the top of the reservoir over all 4 corners (and it just fits) and turn it upside down and rap on it to get the coffee out of it before putting it into the plastic holder and back into the coffee pot before I can brew a cup of coffee. It won't just pour out easily as it cake and binds up inside and will end up spilling outside of the cone filter and getting inside the plastic part of your coffee pot if you don't do it this way. It also tends to blow some loose crumbs around the hole that it goes into the reservoir down onto the base of the unit which require some additional cleaning and it also sticks to the lid pretty bad. The reservoir is also very hard to align perfectly to get it to slide back into place on the unit as it does not have an adequate guide to make it smooth to return to its proper position to grind more coffee, even if you feel you have it perfectly straight. I usually have to take about 4-5 tries to get it back in position. Now on the pluses side of this unit. It does make a perfectly good pot of coffee with my 14 cup coffee maker on the 14 cup setting to grind a pot of coffee. The Auto Stop feature is an excellent plus and the bean Hopper I've discovered will hold an entire 12 oz bag of beans with just enough room to get the lid comfortably back on. It is designed well as far as how much space the unit takes up and does have a good appearance and it is very easy to adjust the desired grind by turning the hopper to the desired grind you require. I only brew up my regular Joe so I can't comment as to the expresso required French Press type of grind as I don't use this process. I do feel it would be great for that since it does grind the medium grind up very fine. For its price point and overall workability it is in my opinion a well recommended buy. Also on the negative side don't press the start button to grind up coffee unless everyone's awake or you're going to wake everyone in the entire house. it is very loud!

Better than Expected

Received this as a Christmas gift from my wife, and have used it daily for about 3 months, and am very happy with it. The only issue is at times the canister is a little hard to get back into the mill...there is a small button that has to be aligned and compressed before it will slide back into position, and it can be a little finicky at times. That is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars
