[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in the south below what they call "the Gnat line." Small little bugs here are numerous even in the winter. I am always looking for new ways to control these critters, especially in our kitchen. One of the major areas where we have a problems is near our trash, and a second major area would be near our fruits. I had the opportunity to try out this insect trap from Stem. The kit itself includes a trap station that has a fan. Above the fan, there is a light designed to attract insects, and inside the trap is a sticky plate that will catch the insects that are pulled inside. I've tried similar products in the past and I've had mixed results. One thing that stands out with this particular trap is the way the light is More visible from the exterior of the trap. It's not so visible as to be a distraction, but it's visible enough that it can draw insects in from pretty much any direction. Other traps that I've tried, the lighting was more shielded, which I felt was a little inefficient. Another nice feature that I noticed is that the fan on this product appears to have a little more pull than other products. The appearance of this trap is pleasant. It doesn't look gaudy or unappealing. We have this set up in our buffet area near where we keep our fruits, potatoes, and onions. Within an hour or two of first placing the trap, I had caught a few of the small flies in it already. These flies can be stubborn, so I added a bit of extra attractant by putting some apple cider vinegar on a 2 L soda bottle cap with a drop of dish soap and a small piece of banana peel in the center of the sticky pad. This brought out a lot of the flies that were hiding in our fruits and we caught many more of them little buggers shortly after. We are outside of mosquito season here right now, but I imagine once we get to that season, I believe Iwill start seeing more of them in this trap as well. Usually these lighted traps seem to attract them well and having less mosquitoes in the house is always a great accomplishment. Now, if we could just get a trap that would suck in the black house flies, that would be amazing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best thing about this insect fan trap is that it takes just a minute or two to set up. All I had to do to start using it was to: separate the top and bottom halves of the device; remove the protective peel from one of the 5 included glue traps; and place a glue trap in the base of the unit. Then I simply plugged it in and turned it on using the power button on the lid. It did a nice job attracting mosquitos via the UV light in an overnight test, with the fan, apparently, 'helping' them into the trap. The fan has 2 speeds; I set it on high, as the fan was very quiet on either speed, so I figured high would work best. You can also set a timer so the device runs for 3, 8 or 12 hours at a time. After a glue trap has been used up, you just open the unit, take out the glue trap and put in a new one. Bottom line; it's an easy to use, no mess device that attracts and traps as advertised.

I was surprised that it didn't have a bad scent coming out into the house. I put it in my garage right before entering the house to keep flys out. It has already captured one fly. It was easy to set up and am very pleased with product. I would definitely recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Stem Flying Insect Fan trap is great! It is quiet and efficient. There is no noxious smell, and it is friendly for both people and pets. The fan and light make it enticing for flying insects, without disrupting the household. The only negative is having to pull out the trap with the bugs attached, which is slightly gross. But it is a great trade-off to having them flying around your home. This is a great product.

It's not overly big like zappers are. It's actually very quiet which I was very surprised with. I also love that it's easy to use and change the trap pad. I like that it opens up to change pad so you don't have to see all dead bugs that's so gross to me. I was very appreciative that it came with charging brick most things don't these days so it was nice not to have to buy another product to use this. The cord was also pretty long which was nice. I also liked the fact that you can adjust time fan is on from 3, 8 or 12h. The light that attracts bugs its not too bright like some other products.

I have tried deterrents like citronella and fans, I have tried glue type traps, and we have sprayed pesticides around our home, but we can't seem to keep the flying insects away when our kids go in and out to play. We decided to put this trap in our garage to encourage flying bugs to stay away from our door, and it works! It is sitting on a shelf in our garage about 15 feet away from our entry door - we didn't want to put it close to the door because it's supposed to attract them, so we figure it's better to attract away from the main home. It's very quiet, attractive (to both humans, and bugs - who knew!?), and effective. When we first checked the trap, we didn't really expect to find much, but we have noticed significantly less flying bugs inside our home, so we were pleasantly surprised to see that there were a ton of bugs in the trap! That means that the decrease of bugs in our home really was because of this trap! We will be buying more of these for around our home! I really wish these were recommended for use around the pool or eating outdoors because I would buy them all!

I can truly say that this device works. Not only does it work but it's also cool looking. The fan runs super quiet and has adjustable speeds and run times. It is easy to turn on and change settings with the touch buttons on the top of the device. The uv lights will attract insects and then the fan will pull them onto a sticky pad in the bottom of the machine. The trap area is large and can hold many trapped bugs on the pad. The kit comes with 5 sticky pads. The fan is lightweight and easy to move from room to toom, with a 6 foot usb power cord. I have indoor pets so I like that this is chemical free and poses no dangers to my fur babies. This device is worth the price for how well it performs.
