New Packaging Is Horrible

The new packaging is absolutely horrible (there's a reason I always buy my chicken at Sam's rather than Co***o, but no reason to stay with Sam's now since it's the same). Between the breasts and thighs I use 35 pounds per week to make homemade food for a colony of feral cats (on top of what we eat ourselves). The prior packaging made this so simple - one slice across the top and pull out the neatly arranged pieces. Now I have to fight to remove the tape then flip and manipulate these stupid little plastic cubes all attached to other cubes. My prep time for the homemade cat food has more than tripled because of the nightmare of having to deal with these stupid little things and dig the pieces out from their 'randomly-smashed-into-the-package' state. And the sliminess from the 'retained water' takes handling the chicken pieces to an entirely new level of unpleasantness. And all that is after I already had to deal with the leaking packages (both in the store and in my refrigerator). When I go to buy it now, this means once I've loaded up all my chicken the very next thing I have to do is carefully push my shopping cart all the way to the front of the store without touching anything (even the handle of the shopping cart) just so I can wash my hands before I continue shopping.

Offer both packaging types? Or go back to big tray

Can Sam’s consider offering both options as before? In seeing the reviews, 95% of the good reviews were part of a promotion. The rest of us are being honest. I myself preferred the big tray as well bc I could customize for the needs of my family. I would also trim the chicken before freezing so I wouldn’t waste time while cooking during the busy week. This has taken all of that away. Please bring back the old packaging. Sincerely, a long time Sam’s member who would prefer to not go elsewhere to buy chicken.

Awful packaging.Split in ten minutes

Very poor packaging. Got a pickup order And by the time I drove five minutes home the entire side of the package was already split open. Fortunately the employee who packed my order had put it in a plastic bag so I didn't lose any other items to raw chicken slime, but I still had a mess to clean up when I got home. Would definitely not purchase again.

Why change? Bring back the original

Why??? The packaging is awful! No matter how slow you go, you’re still going to cut open one of the other pouches. When I opened up one I almost vomited, the chicken had already gone bad and I was cooking the same day I bought it. Never had this issue with the old style packaging. Super disappointing

New Packaging is Horrid

The new packaging is horrible. The weight of the actual chicken meat has never matched what the package indicates. This was our third time buying it in the new packaging, and we continue to be disappointed. At the store, the packages are always slimy on the outside… so slimy that I’ve had to go wash my hands after touching it. The quality of the chicken itself also seems subpar: pieces are shredded and /or macerated. Please revert to the previous ways!

This new packaging is awful! You can not tell the quality or size of the breasts in the store. Once i got it home the breasts were much smaller than the ones that came in Styrofoam trays. Not only was it much smaller, the quality was much worse as well. All of the breasts looked almost shredded. The color and smell of the meat seemed off as well. I could overlook the packaging if it was the same quality but it seems as if the deceptive packaging is to hide the poor quality of chicken you are getting.

Poor processing

I recently purchased this in the upgraded packaging (divide-able vac pack vs foam tray over wrap) While the packaging is an upgrade, the chicken breasts were poorly processed. The breast were whole as opposed to split, and most were raggedy and uneven. Once I trimmed and split them for serving I had a disproportionate amount of meat that I’ll have to cook as stir fry or as tenders. I’m sure the edible quality is equal, but the upgrade in packaging is not worth the poor workmanship observed in the packers processing results.

Bad packaging

Packaging needs to go back to what it once was. The new packaging is messy, and the absorbent pads either literally do nothing or there is so much water pumped in its too much for the pad to handle. Either way, listen to the people and change it back…will not be purchasing chicken breast from here until packaging is fixed.
