The bat is a great decoration and I love the size. As others have said the execution is poor. The prongs and “component” slots are confusing and hard to put together. I had to bend a couple of the prongs to get them to fit; once i understood the poorly written instructions. Kind of a mess. Yes, these do have to be staked down unless you made some alterations to “component A” (the area where it's all connected to, a pain). I buy lots of sam's holiday decorations and this one has the most confusing decorations yet.

Putting it together is definitely a challenge. The wings have to interlock, and since all of the pieces are wired together for the lighting, it takes far longer than it should to get everything lined up. My guess is that the wiring will eventually break after a few seasons of assembly and disassembly. It looks great once it's up, but be prepared for a frustrating build.

Overall the bat is cool. However, it is by far the worst thing i have ever put together in my life. The prongs don't reach the holes, the spots that the wing nuts have to go in don't line up, %26 i have multiple cuts on my hands now.

very difficult to set up. short wires and all 5 pieces cinnected in same wire makes set up impossible. prongs were bent also and did not line up with mounting. also, if you're thinking about mounting it somehwre in a tree of balcony...no you cannot. the bat has to be mounted onto the geound stake unit. great idea poor deaign. love the size also.
