Great flavor

I've been meaning to submit a review for this item ever since it replaced the Hunt's version. The quality of the tomatoes is fine, but it is not the value one would expect. When I cook with diced tomatoes I first drain the watery juice from the can. Here in lies the difference. With Hunt's, after draining you were left with about 1/2 to 2/3s of the can full of tomatoes; with Members Mark is more like 1/3 to 1/2. Thus, even it they are cheaper per can, you end up with the same or less tomato per $. I wish Sam's would bring back Hunt's and, in general, stop replacig good brands with inferior Member's Mark products that are not a better value.

We've been having good luck with the Member's Mark products in the past couple of years and since we go through a lot of canned tomatoes, I decided to try a case of these and we have been extremely pleased. These are high-quality tomatoes that aren't full of hard pieces and tomato cores like we've found in some other brands, and they cost much less than the famous name brand. My husband and I rarely eat at restaurants; we make all our meals from scratch and this is now our preferred brand of canned tomatoes.

Yes, just like any other tin can product, the can's can get dented(Mine weren't this time). But, as long as the seal stay's intact, then they are still safe, even though, they might be a pain to cut open(If they don't have the pull top, like these do), but still safe. Now, on to the diced tomatoes themselves. These diced tomatoes are so addicting, I have actually taken a can of them, dumped it into a bowl, and sprinkled a little bit of pepper & sea salt on them, and eaten them right from the bowl, even still cold! In my opinion, the juice with the diced tomatoes, is better than the name brand juice(Campbell's & etc) is, as well. I used to grow my own tomato plant's in my yard, and eat the tomatoes right off of the vine, and these taste just as they did! And, I have never had any bad can's, and I have bought so many of these, just as my dad did, before he died in 2020. So, as they are filled with machine's, who know's if some can's were not filled properly? I can say, that mine were perfectly fine, along with my dad's can's. Like the old sayin goes, "Anything is possible"...

NON-GMO but NOT Organic My cousin picked this up for me instead of getting the tomatoe paste or sauce I really wanted (those don't contain calcium chloride.) Not happy with the flavor, something's off. Gave it back to my cousin to use cuz I refuse to ruin my dish and just used fresh tomatoes from farm instead. On a positive note, the diced tomatoes were not mushy & kept their shape for the most part. Ingredients: diced tomatoes, tomato juice, sea salt, *calcium chloride, citric acid. Recylable cans with BPA-free lining *calcium chloride is considered GRAS by FDA
