I never try this brand before so I was skeptical & some detergent brands that I tried claimed to remove odor & sweat smell but fall short. I used Persil on my husband's clothes, which are marinated with cigarettes smell, sweat & whatever. This detergent managed to get those smells out, the cigarettes was still lingering but it was because I only use 2 tbsp of detergent, it did well removing other smells. So with his next laundry batch, I used 3 tbsp & no more cigarettes smell. One complaint is that the scent is too overwhelming for me, I can smelled it through the plastic bag it was packed in & through the heat seal. Otherwise, it does the job. The formula has a beautiful blue-green color, smells akin to a meadow of full grass and blossomed wildflowers and cleaned my family's sports and dance items like no other detergent I've ever used. We are always busy and laundry builds quickly with gym clothes, workout items, leotards, tights and compression wear. I always keep these items separate to wash because they require extra care and time hanging to dry afterwards.
