Pain to set up

setting up the router and getting everything connected has been a complete pain. I reused the same name and password, yet none of my devices would reconnect. I have had to individually go to each device and reenter the same name and password. Some then reconnect the first try and others take multiple attempts, while some won't reconnect no matter what I tried. I have never had this much trouble with a new router.

Hi Bryan,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating it is when upgrading to a new router does not go as smoothly as expected. While using the same Wi-Fi name and password can help existing devices reconnect more easily, it does not always guarantee a seamless transition.

Differences in wireless settings, security mode, band behavior, and other network parameters can affect how individual devices respond, which is why some may reconnect right away while others require multiple attempts or need to be re-added manually. In cases where a device will not reconnect, removing the saved network profile ("forget network") and reconnecting it can often help it establish a fresh connection to the new router.

Our support team is always available and happy to assist. Feel free to contact us through any of the resources provided with the product or via the Contact Technical Support page on our official TP-Link website, and a Support Agent will gladly help.

Thank you,
TP-Link Systems Support
