Customer reviews for GreenPan Frost 15-in-1, Ice Cream Maker & Slushie Machine forFamily fun, sleek machine, could use improvements
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wish I could give this a fully stellar review. I’ll start with the positives and what I genuinely loved about it. First, the design is beautiful. The sleek, office-white creamy color is very aesthetic for such a large countertop appliance. It doesn’t feel bulky or unattractive, which is a big plus. I also love the ability to make a wide variety of drinks and even soft-serve ice cream. While it was a little intimidating at first, the video tutorials were very helpful and made me feel confident that I was using and cleaning it properly. My 4-year-old son was especially excited to have ice cream at home, which made the experience even more fun. It definitely feels like a special treat. I also appreciate that the manual includes plenty of recipes—it’s a great starting point while you build confidence to experiment and create your own. One small issue I noticed was with the simple vanilla ice cream recipe. It calls for 1 teaspoon of salt, which ended up being far too salty for our taste. When I tried it again with just a small sprinkle of salt, everyone enjoyed it much more. As for storage, this machine does take up a lot of space. I’m still trying to figure out where to keep it, as it’s too tall for most of my shelves. Many standard shelves are around 15 inches high, while this unit is over 17 inches. The biggest downside, however, is the design of the plastic canister. I assume it’s double-walled for insulation, but it’s open throughout, which allows water to get trapped between the layers and makes it very difficult to dry. After soaking mine in the sink, some of the greasy ingredients ended up inside the canister, leaving it with a hazy appearance. We don’t have a dishwasher, so I can’t place it on the top rack as recommended. Even with the provided brushes, I haven’t found a way to clean the interior of the canister properly. The top opening also has a grated hole, which is tricky to clean thoroughly. I’ve watched all the instructional videos but haven’t found any guidance on dismantling the canister for deeper cleaning. I even resorted to using a hair dryer to help dry the trapped water. Overall, this has still been a fun experience, and I do plan to continue making ice cream at home with it. That said, there are definitely some design aspects that could be improved to make it more practical and user-friendly.
Easy to use, great performance, perfect size, and
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m really impressed with the GreenPan Frost 15-in-1 Ice Cream & Frozen Drink Maker. The operation is very simple and user-friendly, even for beginners. The performance is excellent — it makes smooth ice cream, sorbet, milkshakes, and frozen drinks quickly and consistently. I love the size because it fits nicely on my counter without taking up too much space, yet the capacity is perfect for making enough treats for the whole family. It also feels very sturdy and well-made, which gives me confidence in its safety and durability. Overall, it’s a versatile, high-quality machine that’s fun and easy to use.
Amazing soft serve ice cream at home!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product in exchange for my honest review. I absolutely love this thing!! I didn't know these even existed. This product has so many different features and you can make soft serve ice cream, for the yogurt, sorbet, slushies, the possibilities are endless! We tried the soft serve ice cream option because I used to work at dairy Queen and love soft serve! This thing is basically a mini ice cream machine from there. It's super easy to use you just mix up the ingredients and pour it in and turn on the setting for the frozen treat you want and push start. It took a couple of tries to get the consistency we wanted but it's super easy to use even I could figure it out. We also put the leftover ice cream in a container and froze it. One of the things I really liked about this machine is how quiet it is while it's mixing. I'd say it took about 45 minutes before it beeped and said it was ready for the soft serve setting. In addition to being quiet, this machine seems very well made and works better than the cheaper ice cream maker so you can buy in stores. Considering it is a fully functioning mini ice cream machine with a cooler inside, it's definitely worth the price point. We can't wait to try out the frozen cocktail setting and make some margaritas. We will definitely be getting lots of use out of this item and I recommend to anyone that enjoys frozen treats of any kind! Literally the only negative is it's kind of a pain to clean, but not as bad as I thought and it does get easier as you learn how to put it together and what pieces go where. Cleaning it and taking it apart probably took 10 to 15 minutes so not terrible. Definitely buy this!!
Great appliance, but just lacks that X factor comp
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is basically a high-end, 6-in-1 frozen treat maker. Unlike the cheap "freeze-the-cup" versions, this has a built-in compressor, so you don't have to pre-freeze anything—it chills itself. It’s got a solid, countertop-friendly design and features six specific modes: Soft Ice Cream, Slushie, Spiked Slushie, Sorbet, Milkshake, and Extrude/Clean. It also has 7 different texture levels depending on how thick you want your drink. I used it to make a spiked Coke Zero slushie and was impressed it actually held up. Usually, alcohol lowers the freezing point so much that these machines just produce a cold liquid, but the "Spiked Slushie" mode handles it perfectly by adjusting the temperature. Quick tips for this specific drink: * Because Coke Zero is sugar-free, it can get a bit "icy" rather than creamy, so I recommend setting the texture dial a bit higher (level 5 or 6). • Mix your spirit with the soda before pouring it in. • The manual says to stir or shake the soda first to get some of the carbonation out so it freezes more evenly. It’s way better than just putting a soda in the freezer and forgetting about it until it explodes. Easy to clean, too, especially with the dedicated clean mode.
Gem of a find for ANY occasion
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, the best gem for any event where you want to surprise everyone with a treat, whether that is a frozen margarita, cashew based chocolate ice cream to healthy smoothies for the entire family! I was surprised that the noise levels were relatively low and the consistency of everything I made came out so perfect. I think the best part is that the storage aspect works out because it’s not cumbersome and tucked away neatly. And putting it together was a breeze.
Super cute and versatile for kids and for grownups
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this. Is super versatile and decently small enough to fit on the counter when needed. It work well when we tried it. However I don't love the sound it makes, its actually annoyingly high pitched. Other than the sound it does what its supposed to as well as the other well known brand.
Amazing machine!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m obsessed with this ice cream maker, you can use it in so many different ways and it comes with multiple nozzles as well as tools! It is the perfect way to make your party the event of the year. I used it to make a healthier, frozen yogurt for our guests and family.
Best machine I have tried for soft serve!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So excited for a real soft serve ice cream in the house! I absolutely love this machine and this is the third cone in the video- the boys ran and took the nice big amounts so you get a lot in one small recipe. It tasted so good and it works so quick. It’s practically self cleaning! It’s not very loud so you can continue watching tv or reading while it works its magic in the back ground.
Perfect ice cream!!! Get this!!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot rave enough about this ice cream/slushy maker machine. We used it for the first time with my children and made peppermint ice cream, one of the recipes in the book. In less than 30 minutes, it made perfect soft serve ice cream that my kids gobbled up. I also tried making a boozy flush drink with a mix and alcohol, it was perfect. The machine is big, but that is expected. It is packaged well and everything was intact. Super easy to put together and instructions are clear. We will get a ton of use out of this product and I would highly recommend to anyone. I have a ninja creamy which is slightly different but I like this better because it is so quiet and as long as you plan ahead. Whatever you’re trying to make in 30 to 40 minutes! Huge success.
