Set up was quick and easy. I plugged it in near my kitchen sink to catch fruit flies and gnats. It caught a couple of gnats the first day that I plugged it into my wall socket. The blue refill insert is very sticky, so flies and gnats cannot escape once they touch it.

It is simple you're incredibly effective. The blue light attracts flying insects and I love how it has no odors or harsh chemicals, which can be a risk to kids and pets. I placed one in my dining room near my dogs dish and it quickly trapped small gnats and flies. The soft blue light is a gentle, soothing color and his best left on at all times for the most effective results. You simply peel off the sticky backing of the plastic and it starts working. The packaging feels a little bulky for basically a nightlight with a plastic backing, and could probably be shrunken in size for a more responsible environmental impact. It says it lasts up to 14 days, but that probably depends on how many bugs it catches. It would be nice if it came with an on off switch in the event you wish to switch it off without unplugging it, but that's a minor issue. Overall, this is a big thumbs up, and it definitely works! I highly recommend the STEM flying insects light trap.

Our front door is bad at keeping small bugs out due to no screen door, and this makes me feel better at night knowing it catches so many bugs. I do think its a bit pricey.. not sure if I want to continue to spend $7 for refills.

I also really love that the light is not too bright but just bright enough. Within a few minutes a few fruit flies had already attached to the sticky trap which is great for my kitchen.

I've used light traps before and really like them. What sets this one apart in my mind is that it includes a panel that is sticky on both sides. That goes a long way in helping to cut down on fruit flies as well as all sorts of other household bugs. I'll be interested to see how well the light attracts them!
