It's cold now so no insects caught, but I think it will work on summer and catch the annoying flies. I like the design that you don't have to clean it, you just replace it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the STEM Fly Insect Light Fly Trap Starter Kit for more than a month. I was pleasantly surprised by how effective and easy it was to use. The setup took less than five minutes—just plug it in, insert the sticky pad, and it's good to go. Within the first day, I noticed a visible reduction in flies and gnats around my kitchen. It's also really quiet and compact, so it doesn't stand out or make any annoying noise. I like that it uses light and glue rather than chemicals, especially since I have a toddler that is starting to reach for everything. Overall, it’s a solid choice for anyone dealing with indoor flying pests and looking for a low-maintenance, non-toxic solution.

My husband let a moth in the house while carrying things in and out. Half an hour later, I see the moth on this trap. Very good trap and provides light in areas where it's dark.

I've had this plugged in for several hours, and there's nothing on the sticky trap yet. I'm a little skeptical at this point but still holding out hope.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Steam flying insect light works very well. After about a day of being plugged up it caught a few moths. I plugged it up where we keep our fruit on the counter to help with fruit flies. There is no harmful chemicals and it also is a great night light.

This stem flying insect light trap is amazing and just what I needed to take out those pesky fruit flies during those times of the year when they get buggy. I like that it also serves as a nice blue light night light in my kitchen and bathroom and gets rid of the bugs. The apartment we are staying in temporarily when we moved across the country had fruit flies in it the day I moved in, and they were persistent. Plugging in this light trap really worked wonders to clear them out.

I love how it is people and pet friendly. I have 2 toddlers that love to touch everything. So knowing this is people friendly is a plus! I put this is my kitchen, next to our front door and it captures gnats and fruit flies. That's usually what we get in our house. The blue light is aesthetically pleasing. Overall it does a good job at catching those annoying flying insects.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I purchased the STEM™️ Flying Insects [Light Trap] by SC Johnson & Son, Inc. to catch the fruit flies and/or fungus gnats that I sometimes find buzzing around the potted herbs on the windowsill in my mudroom. I have tried other DIY methods: a little jar or bowl of ACV mixed with dishsoap, double-sided tape/glue boards inserted or placed on top of the soil of the potted plants, etc, but they're messy & aren't very effective. I like that this product is incecticide-free and people-pet-plant-friendly. Set-up is simple & mess-free because the glue board has a wide margin so you can easily handle without getting glue on your fingers! The plug swivels, so you can use it in basically any outlet. The only disadvantage is not being able to properly position the trap so that 1) my dog won't accidentally come in contact with the glue, and 2) the trap is placed high/close enough to the plants (where the pests are)...Mostt of the outlets (in my home, anyway) are positioned low on the wall along the baseboards, and the directions clearly state that the product is not to be used with extension cords or multi-plug adapters...I wonder if a rechargeable/USB/battery operated unit would be a better alternative?

I haven't caught any fruit flies yet, but I don't usually get many until closer to springtime. I love the concept of this because it is so easy to use but you can also easily see its effectiveness when the flies start to stick. I'm going to put one in my kitchen and garage near the trash bins. It'll be so much easier to just set this & go rather than trying to physically squash the fruitflies. plus, it doubles as a nightlight!
