When you plug it in, it's gives a neon blue color which attracts the flying insects. The sticky pad has two sides to it making it better to trap the insects. I wouldn't put it on a low level outlet due to my baby and toddler being able to reach it. I don't hear any sounds coming from it. I love that it doesn't involve chemicals. I feel like there should be a sticky pad facing outward because the insects fly toward the light but sometimes won't go around to the sticky pad. Other than that, I'm glad this product is available.

I cannot believe how many little flying bugs this thing catches. It's a little on the pricey side for the initial investment but totally worth it. The refills are priced right and you're going to need them when this gets all of the bugs out of your house

I placed it near my kitchen trash can and close to my fruit and vegetable bowl on my counter. So far it has helped with keeping fruit flies and gnats at bay. I especially like that it has no noise or scent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Stem Flying Insects Light Trap is very user friendly and a pretty good product. I have an apartment where I have a yard and sometime mosquitoes or flies get in. It seems it trap some of the bugs. I don't love that you need to keep buying refills for this product. And in the box, it gives you one. Don't love that. But overall, a good way to protect yourself from bugs without any smelly chemicals.
