I am to light for the bed... I had a really bad back for about 2 weeks then got the bed tried it out 3 or so days past, it seemed to make my back worse. I ended up buying a memory foam topper about an inch to fill comfortable. The positive is that I don't toss and turn while asleep. I don't know prices on mattresses, but I don't think I would pay 1k again. P.S. I stioll have back pain it's just not as bad, (been about a month and a half.)

I read the reviews but I never knew sleeping could be so comfortable. I've got chronic back and hip pain, and never thought I'd sleep well again. The first night with this bed, I slept hard and woke up feeling better than I have in years. Every morning since has gotten better.Thank you.

I bought my Purple genuinely excited by the prospect of an amazing night's sleep. The ads and the science seemed to be speaking right to my needs. That said, you can imagine my supreme disappointment to be requesting a refund after less than a month. First, the good. Purple, as a company, is AMAZING!! They were a dream to deal with in requesting and receiving my refund. They absolutely held up their end of the bargain. 10 stars for their policies and customer service!! The bed, unfortunately, did not provide the restful nights I anticipated despite performing exactly as advertised. The purple gel layer was SOOOOO cool (to the touch and just in general). It felt so unusual in every sense of the word. Pressing my hands into it, I could feel it push back with support and then suddenly give as just the right amount of pressure caused it to flex around my fingers. I couldn't wait to sleep on it. The first few nights were...OK. I didn't sleep great, but they said I'd need time to adjust. I knew that any day my body would recognize the superior sleeping surface it was now being provided and my joint and muscle pains would melt away. After a few more nights, I was beginning to wonder what the problem was. I tossed and turned ALL night. I simply couldn't find a position that would allow me to stay asleep. Now, full disclosure, I'm a big guy. Large frame, about 280. I've had my previous mattress about 10 years. It's an inner spring with a pillow top and it's honestly given me some of the best nights of sleep I've ever had. It's just old and ready to be put to pasture or I wouldn't be in the market. After a few more nights on the Purple, I was able to pinpoint exactly the flaws in the design. First off, it's too thin. This was most apparent during "amorous" activities when I could feel the support platform under my knees with seemingly very little padding. I'm a big guy, so I can't fault them for not providing more foundation foam. I may simply be too large for the bed. The other issue, anyone of any size would likely experience. As I said before, the gel layer provides support until a certain threshold of force is applied. This is ostensibly to accommodate pressure points. The problem is when two connected body parts find themselves on opposite sides of that threshold. It was most notable in my shoulders and knees. My back, being part of the bulk of my body, would depress the gel beyond the crush threshold. My arms, however, would not. This led to my body and arms being supported to two different degrees at two completely different levels. The pressure under my arms was forcing them upward, while the gel under my torso gave way and relaxed. This caused significant shoulder pain during the nights I slept on my back or stomach. Similarly, my thighs were heavy enough to pass the crush threshold, but my calls were not. This created a similar pressure differential right at my knees when I slept on my side, causing knee pain which lasted throughout the day. These two conditions (along with similar factors elsewhere) meant that there was no single position that wouldn't cause me discomfort. Thus, I tossed and turned all night and never got good sleep. It even effected my performance at work to the point I had to sleep on the couch until our new mattress arrived. I don't mean this to seem negative. The bed performed according to spec. That spec just didn't seem to be designed with larger guys in mind. Great company. High quality product. Ultimately just not for me.

We first received our purpleand were extatic. We unrolled it and plopped. After that first plop, of course we rolled around on it as you do as an adult. I immediately noticed a large bump in the middle that felt very unnatural. I thought, maybe it hasn't finished settling. Well after about a week, that Rocky Mountain ridge stole existed. I contacted purple customer service and explained our odd situation. Purple was exceptionally apologetic and extremely prompt in having a replacement shipped out to us not even a week later. This bed is heaven. The advertising is comical and witty. The customer service is beyond what I anticipated. Super pleased and would highly recommend. Plus the purple squishys they send you with the bed are beyond fun to play with. It's like your very our fidget squished. Bonus! Oh and side note... the platform base is slightly squeaky so I would highly recommend picking up and placing rubber washers on the screws that purple provides.

The main worry I had buying this was where some people said that you may have to get used to it. Well, if getting used to it was falling asleep soon after they set up the mattresses and the PowerBase while playing with the remotes features, then I guess that means I'm used to it. There are simply no pressure points. Maybe that's what they were getting used to; the expectation of having to get into a particular position so that you can feel comfortable. Slept like a baby.

Sleeping on Tuff & Needle was basically like sleeping on a rock. With smaller rocks under you. And all of those smaller rocks had razor blades on them digging into my body and giving me sepsis. Sleeping on our purple is like heaven. We even starting inviting friends over to sleep with us. Except we are usually not sleeping. It's like a party now in our bed. Get a purple. It will change your sleep. It will change your *** life and your life.

My husband and I have been sleeping on a spring mattress for a while and we been Very uncomfortable with the mattress. We need a nice soft/firm mattress that would work for the both of us. We've seen a great commercial on the purple mattress. It really caught our attention so we went for it. The mattress is pretty heavy so make sure you have help when placing it on your bed frame. The mattress felt great. It was soft and comfy not too firm at all. We did not sink into the mattress which was great. We had foam mattress where that happened before. I loved the feel of the purple and it's support but unfortunately it did not work out for us. For some crazy reason we woke up with lower back pain. I would not discourage anyone from this mattress because it's a great a product and it might work better for others. And the return process was very smooth. They are easy going and friendly. I would definitely recommend this product to friends and families.

I had some shipping problems, notified customer service and was helped immediately. I absolutely love my purple mattress, pillow, back cushion, and butt cushion. I splurged a little and got some goodies in this order and do not regret it. It has helped alleviate back pains each morning, keep me cool, and is amazingly comfortable.

Despite all the mess within this Corvid-19. Purple was very friendly helpful punctual and pleasant. My products arrived surprisingly fast since shipping from other companies has been greatly delayed. I called to ask some tech questions, fully prepared to spend 3k on a bed and after talking with a rep. I discovered the original bed would be more then enough given my wife and I's body types. I found this very surprising that Purple was confident enough in their products and service to actually be honest about the products which lead me to spend less and they were total okay with that so long as I was satisfied. We have found a company we will be staying with thank you guys. *side note* We also bought 2 mattress protectors 2 sets of sheets and 2 pillows. ALL of their products are awesome we just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE their pillows I haven't been happy with a pillow in forever. Buy a pillow if nothing else buy the pillow.

I order my mattress one month ago, everything was fine until it got into the hands of pilot shipping services. They "lost" my first mattress at the Boston location the day before it was supposed to be shipped along with my bed frame. I reached out to purple to see if what the issue was and they said what I wrote above, pilot never reached out to them to alert them of this issue as the Customer service rep I talked to from purple was unaware of the issue. They said they would ship out a new mattress with their "white glove pilot team". So I had to wait another two weeks for them to get the mattress "rushed" to me which is a joke because it took two weeks for them to get the first mattress out there. Fast forward two weeks and delivered the mattress but now there is no frame. They didn't tie the orders together for whatever reason, marking a second day I took out of work for them to delivery the stuff I paid for. When I reached out to purple one of the representatives stated that this is a "common and known" issue and that they would do their best to get it to me the same day. The same day came and went and still no frame. Dealing with pilot a company that purple chooses to do their business with has been nothing short of a nightmare, and for that reason alone don't bother giving them your money. Purple also didn't real work to hard to make the situation any better my guess is because they already had my money and couldn't careless. Their rushed shipping taking two weeks is also a joke. I know we are in a pandemic and shipping routes are probably funky but that is no excuse for the lack luster response to my issues. Maybe the bed is good, I don't know because I have been waiting a month for mine but I will make sure no one I know buys from Purple because the shipping process was so horrible.
