How was my overall experience? Well quit frankly I don't know if I should thank Purple or despise them. On one hand they have the most amazing bed I have ever slept on. I no longer wake up in pain after sleeping, I don't wake up in a pool of sweat, I don't make my wife drift towards me after sinking into a hole in the middle of the night (used to sleep on memory foam), my chiropractor is losing money..... and so on... basically this is the best thing ever. On the other hand Purple has single handedly ruined my love of travel. Why? Because when traveling I cant bring my purple with me and every other bed is terrible. Best money I have ever spent, hands down. I have a Purple 4.0 with the bed frame and I love it.

I couldn't sleep the whole night thru on my old mattress today, I was waking up in the middle of the night with a sore back... But the new Purple mattress is great, I slept the whole night thru and slept in the first night on the new mattress... I would probably get the upgraded, thicker version next time, but theyre great mattresses

I'm giving this review because I'm a tummy sleeper and was told that sleeping on your stomach isn't good for your body but it's the way I have slept or sometimes on my side but always ended up on my stomach. Last night was my first night sleeping on the original purple mattress and just woke up and to my shock I just woke up on my back! My first thought was I never sleep on my back! But to my surprise my back feels so good that I don't want to get up because my back doesn't hurt, I hurt my back 2 years ago and it has gotten better but sometimes will start to hurt again especially in the mornings when I wake up but I'm laying here with no back pain what so ever! So I hope this means I have found the perfect mattress. I will update my review on a later date but for now I don't want to get out of my purple!

This Purple company has the most funniest commercials I've ever seen! Usually hate commercials and skip or mute them, but this one was different , funny with a hint of sarcasm. Excellent product very easy to set up. And incredible CUSTOMER SERVICE, a huge rarity now a days. Thank You

My first impression with purple really didn't have much to do with purple at all It was with Affirm so far I am really happy with their service and how it works. Now to the mattress. It arrived a day late which was a bit annoying but not terrible. It was easy to set up, had no weird smells and inflated quickly. I was happy with how clean it was. IT IS NOT THE SIZE ADVERTISED. Vertically its an inch and a half plus short. Width wise it's off about a half inch. Personally this is a mistake that is not a big deal practically, however it drives me nuts. When you have 2 founders one that is a, "literal rocket scientist" and you place the specific measurements on your website... it should meet them every time without question. It just feels like a cheap and insulting move. Because who would really expect them to fix a problem like that it seems petty. It just shouldn't be a thing. My other concern which, in total transparency hasn't happened at all yet, is all the negative reviews that talk about the mattress breaking down and creating divots in 6 months to a year. I unfortunately can see this happening without too much strain. Just based on how the mattress feels. As long as this is something they replace IF it occurs at all I have no real concern. This is why I will review again at 6 months and a year. Moving on...the edge support is negligible and the thickness leaves something to be desired. At 5'10 and 160 lbs I don't feel evenly supported and I'm clearly not a big dude. Head, shoulders and mid back all feel really good. However my lumbar spine and hips feel pulled down by my legs and it creates a space where I have less support then I should. This is made most egregious on your back position. Unfortunately its a problem I am reminded of a few times a week and keeps me from adopting a back sleeping position. If you are an unfortunate stomach sleeper like me a thinner pillow with this mattress will probably make your life better, as it seems like the best pairing. Purple 1 isn't cheap and no amount of clever marketing should make the value go up on its own. On principle, the purple 1 feels like a very good rough draft. And if you want to get the real deal I would assume you must get a purple 2 on up. Once you cross that line though you are back to paying a high premium and they really haven't done you any favors compared to many other companies they simply just have a different approach. Reading the product descriptions supports my feelings that if you have a problem with your purple one they tried to fix it with the newer models. unfortunately you don't know its an issue until you have tried the original. One to the good things. I enjoy my purple so far in its softness and support in all areas not limbo pelvic. Its Extremely cool it really doesn't feel like it retains much if any of your heat. I noticed a difference in the first night sleep with a major reduction of shoulder and neck pain to almost zero. The Unique feel isn't an issue for me at all, but it is different. It really doesn't feel like a traditional mattress and I could see that bugging some i really like it though. Not only does it not seem to produce any smell or off gassing it seems like a very cool and clean space to breath. I know that sounds odd, i just find my breathing better frankly when I am on it and look for ward to that. Purple has been a bit to slow to respond for me yet, in fairness its December, and the facade of this happy bubbly company that, "hopes you have a purple day!" kinda makes you feel like you aren't being taken seriously. It seems that building a brand and keeping the name clean is the most important thing. Somewhere in the middle lie, pun not intended, you and the principle quality of the mattress. It probably doesn't sound like it, yet I am cautiously optimistic. I think the issues I have are all lazy easy to fix issues and that is, frustrating. The real question is with all the positives do I want to ride out the rough draft? Upgrade ( no i don't think i should have to to resolve them these seem like problems that shouldn't exist at this level of rocket science and cost). Or find something different. Plainly I like this mattress I just don't feel like i should have to live with the little issues or upgrade. Solid 3 1/2 stars. We will see what another 60 days has to say. Amazing mattress. Very comfortable in all sleep positions. Just had a few bumps in the road with fedex delivery. And they sheets I received with the mattress have a small opening on the fold over seam at the top. Other then that very comfortable and breathable sheets.

We have slept on our Purple King size mattress for 7 months now and this mattress has changed our lives. Before our purple, my partner tossed and turned all night keeping both of us awake - not to mention being sweaty during the summer and waking up with stiff bodies from sleeping wrong. Now, we sleep soundly through the entire night and this mattress kept us cool all summer long. It is so comfortable that when I travel for work or vacations all I can think about is I wish this mattress was a Purple. I would recommend getting purple sheets with your mattress.

My 3rd night using the purple mattress and I'm impressed. Really enjoying. Got another memory foam mattress to try and wasn't that good and runs really hot. I'm impressed with the purple softness and firmness at the same time. I'm a athlete and was having lower back problem and need it a firmer mattress, with the purple I found it plus is comfortable. I'm enjoying my blob pillow as I call.

I was hesitant to buy any real mattress after sleeping on a soft sided waterbed for years....but the old bed frame collapsed so I had no choice. BTW, don't like the look of waterbed furniture. So did my research and asked around. An awful lot of friends recommended the purple mattress. I knew I'd have to adjust for a while...guess what....nope...absolutely love it. I'd highly recommend buying a purple mattress.

I was sleeping on a sleep number bed and waking up with bad back pain. I have severely compressed discs all thru my lower lumbar. The first night I slept for more than 5 hours, for the first time in a long time. There is no way I would give up this mattress. Now after 30 days I am still loving my purple mattress.
