Got my Purple about a month ago and I've ever slept better. I never really had issues with back pain on different beds, but I'd always wake up a couple times a night. I'm sleeping much deeper on my Purple and wake up with more energy. The mattress also really does sleep cooler too! Can't recommend highly enough. I took my little Purple sample piece out to the living room and it is definitely the topic of conversation every time guests come over!

I like it, I feel I get into REM much faster. I have noticed my lower back does get a little stiff. My husband who has had 2 back surgery doesn't like it,it causes pain in his lower lumbar so we are going to buy a topper for his side to see if it helps.

I was experiencing serious back pain prior to ordering our new Purple Mattress. Since we have been sleeping on it, my back pain is almost none existent. It is very comfortable. Make sure you don't use another mattress cover over the existing one. We made that mistake at first. It doesn't allow for the top layer to perform like designed. But with a simple sheet, it is amazing how well it supports you. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Only downfall I can see. We have an adjustable bed frame. So the mattress isn't as thick as our conventional mattress So The total height is lower than the original. Thre wife doesn't like the look of it But I'm more function over form So it doesn't bother me

Compared to other beds, Purple is definitely softer and feels way better than your average spring mattress. When you touch or push on the top layer it feels soft but when you're laying on it, it's comfortable yet also contorts to your body and is firmer. An example of this is how you could lay on your back and the mattress would raise up to meet the curve of your spine while other mattresses may leave you with a gap. There is also a mattress smell for the first few days but that quickly passes. Installation is also easy as the package comes with a cutter for the vacuum sealed plastic that works amazingly. Overall I'd say that if you have the money and/or don't mind spending a little extra, Purple is definitely a great choice. If you're not too keen on the price however, I'd say it's something you can live without.

Very heavy to set up mattress and it unrolled with the silver side up. Needed a neighbors help to turn it over. Do like the mattress but it is a little high for short wife. Love the bottom fitted sheet but get twisted in the top sheet because it is so stretchy.

After two plus years I am still pleased with my Purple mattress. None of the other new types of mattresses can touch this one. All seem to rely on memory foam. Memory foam traps heat in order to perform its shape shifting. What is not widely understood is that memory foam continues to trap heat and continues to compress until it is barely the thickness of cardboard. I used to have a memory foam lumbar support cushion in my car. On cold days it was hard as a rock. On hot days it was softer than oatmeal. The Purple offers me temperature comfortable sleep. The only catch is that your mattress pad and sheets need to be stretchy otherwise you lose the "soft where you need it" qualities. Looser fitting sheets and a stretchy mattress pad work best. My last sweat drenched sleep was the nights before my Purple arrived. Caution: have friends over to help carry this thing and get it positioned. Have it on the bed before you open it. It is pretty wobbly because of its build, so it is difficult to carry while unrolled. It is very heavy with a king weighing in at 140 pounds. The lady UPS driver made carrying the rolled mattress look easy. I thought I would have it easy only to try to lift it and receive input from my back muscles telling me the chiropractor was waiting. I waved as she drove away and ducked into the garage for the hand truck. OK, I admit, after I had it centered on the bed, I jumped on the mattress like a kid. I fell backwards onto it trying to get it to not cushion my fall. Even standing on the mattress I was unable to compress it enough to feel the solid foundation below it. By the way, an ordinary box springs cannot handle this mattress. However, if you cut a piece of 0.5" or 0.75" plywood to fit over the box springs, you should be just fine. Soft sided water bed box springs work perfectly. The only negative thing is the dogs love it as much as we do. They asked me to get them their own and I told them they did not need one. They thought otherwise. Now I get to share with them. I get a thin slice out of the king size mattress that is 6' long; the dogs take up the rest of the space. And they growl if I disturb their beauty rest!

Initially the bed was going to be delivered on a day where neither myself or my girlfriend would have been home to receive it. To avoid any unnecessary difficulties, we requested a vacation hold for two days that turned into TWO WEEKS after our bed was "accidentally given" to someone else. In total, we waited THREE weeks for the bed and when I contacted Purple Customer Service to ask for some form of compensation, I was told that we would be getting our bed and that was all. Purple should hire people with better communication skills and a sense of empathy. Additionally, the customer service line doesn't list the available call hours so you end up waiting on hold for forever. The bed itself seems to be pretty good so far but the trial isn't up quite yet, so we'll see. Initially, you'll be able to feel the grid a lot before becoming accustomed to it over time. As far as cradling pressure points, my girlfriend still definitely wakes up with pain in her hips and shoulders, just not as much as our last bed.

Although we didn't keep the mattress we were very happy with the service we received. My only complaint was the mattress didn't sit high enough for my wife and I. We had a pillowtop and were used to being higher off the floor but even with a box spring the mattress wasn't high enough.

My back feels great, but my shoulders are really hurting - the mattress dips where my shoulder goes in but pushes the rest of my arm up so it's pinched. Not sure if that's the full explanation, but we're not sleeping well and we wake up hurting. Lower back problems, however, have improved.

I believe maybe I should have done more research into the mattress before purchasing. Not comfortable AT ALL WHATSOEVER for the money I'm paying. Waited a few months to see if mattress broke in and felt better but NOT AT ALL, a very hard mattress. At this time it was too late to exchange. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Extremely disappointed in this purchase, I had very high hopes this mattress would be great especially for the price. I do not * recommend.
