My wife and I bought the original version and it's just not as soft as I had hoped. If you like a firmer mattress this would be a good choice, if you like a softer mattress I would get the 4" version (if you have the money) or a different brand. I still wake up every morning with back pain. I'm strongly thinking about sending it back and trying a Casper or ghost bed.

I have been on the original Purple for 3 weeks now. It definitely has helped my lower back pain. I still have issues as the day goes on, but I wake up pain free. It provides the proper balance of support. It truly does sleep cooler to neutral temperature.

I had a Casper before this and I personally like it better. The Casper was slight more firm (which I don't mind), but it ran too hot. The Purple's cooling technology cannot be beat! I thought the original might be too thin but it feels very comfy. I am 5'10" and 160 pounds

We've needed a new mattress for a long time, & we finally decided, after researching lots of other options, to buy the Purple mattress. We've had it for a few weeks now, & so far we're pretty impressed. My husband has night sweats pretty much year round, so I was a bit worried about how he would do with this type of mattress. I've noticed that, so far he seems to be sweating quite a bit less than usual. In fact, there hasn't been a morning yet where his side of the sheet was even damp, & that's really unusual. I'm used to washing our sheets 3 times a week, & that hasn't been necessary since we got this new mattress.

We are very satisfied with this bed. It has just the right combination of support and comfort. There was a bit of an adjustment period for us in the beginning, but that lasted for only about a week. But now we actually get a little excited about going to bed, thanks in part to this mattress. Ordering was also easy, as well as unpacking. Thank you Purple!

I love the idea of the bed and when I first hop into bed, I fall asleep like a baby, however a couple hours later I wake up with severe back pain. I change positions and it's remedied for a good hour or so. But after the nights said and done, I wake up with horrible back pain every morning. I have everything purple and might I say, I prefer my feathery pillow and firm mattress. I'm not the only one either. I would seriously consider googling back pain and the purple mattress. I was the skeptic that said, oh everyone says its so amazing and it has more 5 star reviews than 1 star reviews so I probably won't be affected. Well. I was wrong. But my wife loves it so it will stay, so long as my spine can handle it. Good luck to you all.

We got our purple about a month ago. We are very pleased with it thus far. Very comfortable. My only negative is that we are not the smallest humans and Me about 230 and it seems like where we sleep is getting compressed already. seems like a firmer ridge area between where the two of us sleep. But really do like the mattress

My new purple mattress came with a factory defect; there was a large "divot" or void in the grid (about a foot wide and about three feet long). Customer service requested proof. I sent in a short video clip recorded on my mobile phone. Purple responded in a reasonable period of time with no hassle. I had a replacement mattress seven days after my defective mattress arrived. The mattress itself is good but not great. It is a little firmer than I expected. I am a 6'6" 230 lb athletic build side sleeper; the mattress provides fantastic pressure relief for bony prominences like my elbows, knees and ankles. Pressure relief for the hip is ok, the mattress makes full contact with my side and it's easier to turn over at night than it was on my old sleep number mattress. There is no real movement on my side of the king mattress when my wife gets out of bed; we don't wake each other by getting out of bed anymore. Overall, I would rate the mattress as good, and while it is hard to match the hyperbole of the commercials, I would purchase it again.

I love my purple mattress! It is the most comfortable bed I have ever had! And I was unsure about the mattress protector because of the price but it works amazingly. My son spilled a drink, the sheets and mattress protector were wet but nothing got on the mattress!!

We got a queen size purple bed 5 years ago. It was the best bed decision we ever made... until we upgraded to the king sized purple (basic, no springs) and the harmony pillows. My husband has severe back problems and I have arthritis in my neck. With purple we wake up *most* mornings without pain. 10 out of 10 would and do recommend.
