This has been the weirdest bed-buying experience I've had. I was very skeptical about getting a purple bed without having tried it in person first, and the first week or so was pretty rough. I had read beforehand that some people said it took a while to adjust, so instead of sending it right back (it's so hard!) I gave it more time. I'm glad I did, because while the bed is not particularly comfy and it's a weird sensation for sure, I admit I sleep pretty well on it! I sleep much better in my ultra-soft comfy marshmallow mattress which developed a big divot in the middle from two of us rolling into each other because it was too soft to support us. So that's why we got this bed, and while it hasn't happened yet, it's only been two weeks. But still, it's not "comfy" like in a traditional sense... you'll need to be a bit open-minded I think. Oddly enough my partner, who was total skeptical about this whole buying a bed online thing... surprisingly liked it after the very first night. He admits it's not comfy like our old bed was BUT it does solve a lot of problems having a more firm mattress. Fingers crossed I like it even more after a month or two!

I was skeptical at first when my daughter told me about the purple mattress and that she and her husband just bought and saying they just love it. Than they showed me the Goldie Locks video and I laughed so hard thinking it was just a spoof. Little did I know. The rest of the story is history. I did buy one and everything they said is true. Like many others my, husband and I were tired of mattress's in stores. Many felt great for while we were laying on them in the store, but shortly after sleeping on them at home, they were either too firm, too soft or just plain uncomfortable. Both of us having bad backs, hips and pressure issues we tried pillow top, memory foam, latex, gel, innerspring , coil, you name it we had it. My husband was so fed up he was settling with the Stearn And Foster bed we had. I finally convinced him to let me research and look online. With a 100 day trial period and no shipping or return fees how could you go wrong? That is when I came across Purple, Puffy, Nectar and all the other online brands. Quite overwhelmed, I drove my husband crazy looking up reviews and watching you tube bed comparisons. I always ended up going back to Purple. Nervous, my husband wouldn't like the feel of the mattress I convinced him to go to Mattress Firm and test them out compared to other mattress's. The minute he lied down on the Purple mattress he was in love as well as myself. He would lay on The Purple mattress then try a Sealy, Tempurpedic or other store mattress and was convinced Purple was the one!!!! We went between the .3 and .4 for a good hour and a half and decided on the .4. You can really feel the difference between each of the Purple models. The .3 was quite comfy, but the .4 was that much more divine. A turkey weightless feel, but supported and comfortable in all the right areas. We also figured with us both being primarily side sleepers the .4 was slightly softer than the .3. Mattress Firm was awesome. They honored the Purple deal online that gave us two free purple pillows and the sheet set. We also purchased the mattress cover. We ordered everything on a Monday and was picking everything on Wednesday. The bed is heavy in the bag, I definitely got my workout, but once out of packaging it inflated fast with no off gas smell. The pillows had no off gas smell either and no powder some customers mentioned. The mattress cover is a stretchy silky material on the top with a waterproof layer in the bottom side. I immediately washed the sheets, I got in the color slate ( a great color by the way ) and put them on the bed. They are silky and very stretchy. Tonight will be our first night sleeping in the bed and I can't wait to go to sleep. FYI... Purple offers 100 day trial period, but if you purchase through Mattress Firm you get a 120 day trial period. Seriously though, I can't even imagine returning my Purple products. I'm already looking at buying more sheets since they are an amazing quality and the feel of them is this silky light weight feeling. We are looking forward to sleeping well with no more back and hip pain. Thank you Purple for you innovative approach to providing customers with the best support, comfort and sleep possible!!!!

After trying out a few other beds and even trying a purple 2( did not like was to cold and I sleep hot) I decided to give the org purple a try. I'm glad I did so far been 3 weeks I sleep really good on it. My last mattress my calves would cramp up on me and my hands would fall asleep. Since sleeping on the purple these 2 probs are not happening any more and my back feels great. The only I do wish they would change on this mattress is do 3 inch instead of the 2 inch top layer. But not really a big deal. I'm 6 ft like 185. Thanks Purple

I've had my Original Purple Mattress for a little over a month now. I had done plenty of research, looked at countless reviews, purchased other mattresses that didn't work out, and ultimately decided Purple was the way I needed to go. Now, I know that there are the newer versions with the different comfort levels, but I decided with all the positive reviews for the Original and people saying how wonderful and life changing that one was, what was the need to go with the upgraded models? I also decided to purchase the Platform Base to replace my old box spring and the mattress protector to protect my investment. I have to say, the Platform base is fantastic. It really does support the mattress all the way around, so no matter where you are on the mattress it all feels the same... no more sinking in the middle from sitting or laying down (I'm 200+ pounds and slightly bottom heavy - I have quite a bit of legs, butt, and thighs to support). The mattress protector was a little different than what I was expecting. This one has a little more of a plastic/liner feel, but you adjust to it pretty quickly, so no big deal. It doesn't make you slide around or anything. Now to the mattress - here's where I have not been the happiest. The first couple of nights were brutal and I thought I had made a huge mistake at that point, but I kept hoping and being positive and knew that there would be an adjustment period for my body. Fast forward a month and I can't say that I am entirely happy with my mattress, even now with the adjustment period I've given it. I spend a lot of time in bed (I love my sleep and I work from home quite a bit, so quite often work gets done while sitting in bed) and to be honest I'm just very disappointed in the mattress overall. I still toss and turn quite a bit throughout the night, so I'm not getting the best of sleep. The mattress is not very thick, so with the combination of being on the Platform Base and being a chunky girl - I feel sometimes like I'm sleeping on the floor because I can feel the Base through the bed. The only positive so far is that I'm not sleeping as hot as I was before. The combination of having the Base with the mattress allows for quite a bit of air circulation, which is awesome. I don't know if I just had too high of expectations or what, but at this point, I'm still trying to decide if I want to return the mattress or just deal with it. It's quite a bit of money put out for something I'm not entirely happy with. I was so looking forward to experiencing that melt into your mattress, sleeping on a cloud feeling because it's just so darn comfortable, and instead I just keep getting more and more disappointed each day.

This is our 3rd purple purchase. Our first was for my wife and I, we purchased a queen size and had for 5yrs. 6 months ago we upgraded to a king size and gave our queen to our daughter. Recently our middle son moved into his own room(was sharing a room with our youngest, and we purchased a twin long for him. These mattresses are the best sleep you'll ever have. Our family loves our purples!❤️ You can't go wrong with Purple and their customer service is 2nd to none. Go for it!

The mattress seems to as discribed but after numerous calls to the cue and supposedly my place was held and a return call will have, I'm well past my 30 days stick with the mattress with no customer support, no tech support, no information, no return call or email, but you do get what Is advertised, delivery was quick and set up was mostly easy. Not sure I would buy again or refer someone to buy it.

I typically like a very firm mattress when I sleep on my back, and I swore by our sleep number bed for years. However, the setting I liked for my back lead to shoulder pain when I slept on my side. The purple mattress was a great change. It provides enough support for my back, and I stopped having shoulder issues from sleeping on my side. We now own two.

So I assumed that this mattress would cure all my back problems and let me sleep through the night for a change - I hate to say it did not do that. But, all in all I sleep pretty well on it. One thing I have to say - get the stretchy sheets - it will not feel right with regular cotton sheets. One thing that bothers me a bit is the surface of the mattress - it's bumpy, not smooth like other mattresses, it reminds me of sleeping on an egg crate. So, I am giving it the good college try - the jury is still out.

I love this new mattress and have recommended it to my cousin too. We both have FSHD, a type of muscular dystrophy, and our bodies get out of alignment and it is a struggle to move once in bed. This Purple mattress resolved that. I am more than satisfied with this purchase. Now I only need to save more money to buy more sheets, awesome too.
