My wife and I are in our 60's. We are Jack Sprat in reverse. She is slim (5'4", 117 lbs) and I am fairly tall & husky (6', 216 lbs). We had an old Sleep Number bed and had both started having back aches. My side was getting to be like a hammock. My side of the mattress had a slow leak so the middle would sink throughout the night. When we got the Purple mattress, my wife immediately liked it and it helped her get a better night's sleep. But I had a hard time adjusting. I took the foam cushioning from under the Sleep Number bed and put on top of the Purple mattress for a week or two then I went back to sleeping on the Purple mattress. I have finally gotten to the point where I can get 6 or 7 hours' sleep before the aches start to keep me from sleeping anymore. Purple cannot reverse the aging process, but it helps make it go a bit better. The Purple sheets are outstanding. We really enjoy them. They are stretchy and have a great feel to them. We had similar experiences with our Purple seat cushions as with our Purple mattress. My wife has a big cushy office chair and has been battling sciatica and lower back issues for several years. I have a Herman Miller office chair that I like pretty well but I sit long hours and get normal aches in the hind-end associated with sitting for too long. So when the Good Lord was telling me to get off my hind-end more often, I decided instead to get a Purple seat cushion, the Royal. My wife got the Ultimate. She still has the lower back issues but the Purple cushion is better than the many other options she has tried. The Royal Purple cushion does not feel much better than my mesh Herman Miller seat and it elevates me so the back is too low and the lumbar region is in the wrong place. My seat cushion was not wasted, though. My wife uses it on her other chairs. Purple people have been very good to deal with. They had a big promotion around Thanksgiving 2016 and incurred a significant back-log. And that leads to my only issue with Purple policy they charged our card right away, but it took a couple of weeks to get our mattress shipped (sooner than their estimate, though), a month to ship the sheets, and 1-1/2 months to ship the seat cushions.

I am so so so happy to have my Purple mattress!! With my previous mattress, I would wake up with so much back pain and was just overall so achy! With the Purple, I have ZERO pain!! I was starting to think that wasn't a possibility... The reason I say "So good, it's bad!" is because my husband has always been an early riser. Even if he was very tired, he could not sleep in past 9am. With this mattress, he is sleeping in until noon!! lol. We are very rested these days. Although the mattress was out of our price range, we steadily saved for what felt like forever until we were able to get it. And it was absolutely worth it!!!!! My ONLY complaint is that it is unbelievably heavy! Not that I'm going to be carrying it around or moving anytime soon. But boy, is it heavy! But I wouldn't choose a different mattress. Wonderful! I really wanted to love this mattress. It has rave reviews, it's advertised everywhere, and some friends even recommended it to me. Ultimately I found that the Purple didn't have enough support. I would NOT consider this a firm mattress, I'd say it's more medium/plush compared to what I'm used to. I felt my lower back and hips sinking into the mattress when laying on my back. My partner and I woke up with horrible lower back pain every morning. The mattress also has no edge support - when sitting on the edge of the bed to put shoes on, it sank all the way down to the bed frame (and I'm an average 120 lbs). I also wasn't impressed with the motion transfer, I could feel the bed move every time my parter got out of bed. For us, an all foam mattress is just not the answer when you need more back support. The one positive thing I will say is that the purple grid is a very interesting concept, and I never got over heated during the month that we tried this bed.

My daughter has been asking for this mattress for a long time. We finally ordered it and she is a very happy girl. We tried it and I wished this was my mattress not hers. When our time comes we will probably upgrade to this mattress. The convenience of how it arrives and it is very easy to setup.

I'm a 40% side sleeper, 50% stomach and 10% back sleeper. I can't get comfortable sleeping on my stomach. It took time to get use to the mattress texture but once I did I loved it. Sleeping on my stomach is preventing me from keeping the mattress. Too much discomfort involved. Caution to those who turn alot as well this mattress. It's not as firm an friendly to sleepers who move.

My husband had a herniated disc in his back and our old mattress forced him to sleep on the sofa. Even my 115lb self would go numb sleeping on my side on our previous mattress. A firm, pillow top, top of the line, 3-year old spring mattress. We found the purple mattress online and were intrigued. I admit, I was worried it was gimmicky but the proof is in the pudding - my husband has been back in the bed and now that I think of it, isn't even snoring anymore either. He had the bright idea of downsizing from a King to a Queen and I can't complain _ _ except when he's on my side I used to be able to bounce our spring mattress to get him to roll over but with the purple that is no longer the case. I'm not complaining, he moves around a lot and I am no longer woken up by it. I had a promo code to get a seat pad too which I am sitting on as I type. I use it on a wood bench at work and it has been a life saver.

I ordered the masters bundle with the mattress, protector, sheets, and harmony pillow. I love my sleep fortress and would 100% buy them again. I am a combo sleeper who naturally sleeps warm. This bed sleeps cool and provides support while being super comfortable and relieving pressure spots. It's incredible.

Way to firm for my comfort. I wish I was able to return but since I misplaced my paperwork, I am unable to return. I think the amount I paid for this mattress was more than I should have. I believe I could have found a comparable mattress for much less money. That is my honest opinion and I do regret buying this mattress. I now have to live with the consequences since I cannot find my paperwork.

Was a fast delivery, easy to set up. It immediately relieved shoulder pain my old matress caused. Experienced pain in hips for first 2 weeks but disappeared. Husband was concerned it was not firm enough at first but is adjusting. We have couple of months to decide whether to keep or not. So far we are adjusting well & thinking this is good investment.

For years I have had back pain every morning, but with no idea why since the traditional mattress I've had for the past 15 years has did not cause problems at first. Finally I decided to try changing mattresses and the first night of my Purple I awoke with no back pain. The next night, the same happened, and it's been a couple months now of the same. The change is so significant that every morning I am still surprised, and relieved, at the difference. The softness of the Purple mattress top is nice; I used to think I liked a more firm mattress, but while that may have been a while ago the softer top of this one is converting me too; it's not way too squishy like some mattresses, but it's a nice middle ground between firm and so soft you get lost, which is just perfect for another purpose of the mattress.
