I have slept on a hundred hotel beds--so I can usually deal with the range of mattresses in terms of softness. This mattress is about as soft as sleeping on a carpeted floor. Based on how long it took to get here, I'm worried about how long it will take to pick up under your return policy. We live in a New York City apartment--so keeping an old mattress around for two weeks as a backup wasn't an option--it's long gone. Looks like we'll be sleeping on the floor until a different mattress arrives : (

Both my husband & I are not only quite fussy but deal with back issues so we were skeptical about this mattress & at best expected we would take time to get used to it-as we like very cushy, comfy beds, though our backs do not lol And from the moment we laid on this mattress we knew it was different. It was not all marshmallowy soft for sure & despite us loving that enveloping & soft, cushy feeling, we surprisingly loved it! Though it was completely different, it wasn't a hard feel either, it was "just right"! Not hard or soft but somehow perfectly supporting every inch of our bodies! And it felt great from the first moment & night we tried it & still does! No adjustment for us at all. My husband was amazed that he loved it as he didn't want to give up his cushy foam toppers lol But we & are bodies are LOVING this!! And I have to also add that their customer service is the best I've ever dealt with !! We had to return the first one we ordered due to needing it off our credit card & needing to use the financing option instead and they couldn't have made it easier for us and been more helpful-going out of their way to make it as easy as possible !! Awesome product & company!!

The first time I saw the commercial for the purple I was intrigued. We had been thinking it was time for a new bed for over a year and were saving up to get a new one. We finally we're ready to buy a bed of our dreams. A bed that we were hoping would help with my shoulder pains and my husbands hip pain, our tossing and turning from the pain. We finally decided to go with the Purple. It came quicker than I expecteted with the wait we were told in advance when we purchased. The unrolling process was fun, certainly a two person job. I think the only downfall I can see of the bed is that the mattress is weird when you move it around. Very floppy but heavy. Two people can do it though. Our first impression was wonderful! The first night sleep even better! It is sooooo supportive, yet super squishy and soft. I love the feel of it and my husband does too. We both have found that the sore shoulder and hip DO feel better. It doesn't hurt to lay in bed and we don't toss and turn in our sleep. My husband doesn't sweat as much during sleep as well. This is a huge bonus for someone who can sweat buckets! He is a heater. The bed helps him stay cool and he barely sweats. We did buy the suggested waterproof, breathable mattress cover for it. We have dogs that sleep with us and we didn't want to have to deal with issues from them. Still breathable but not as breathable as it was without the cover. All in all it has been 3 weeks and we are still loving it! Going from a queen size bed to a king has also been a huge bonus! We love our Purple mattress and tell everyone about it. I make people lay down and feel it for themselves:) Looking forward to the pillows!

I have had a bad back and muscle pain for many years. I have had a quality tempurpedic bed for the past 6 years. I bought the Purple mattress with the hope that it would be better than the mattress I already own. It was comparable. I have no problems with it but with it being about the same I intended to send it back with the 30 day guarantee. My 3 year old son took a nap on our bed and as fate would have it, wet on it. So... We are keeping the mattress! Now the mattress is very good quality. It was about 1/4 the price of our other mattress. If you are on a spring mattress or the like, buy this mattress - you will be very pleased. If you have a tempurpedic mattress already, well you might just love Purple more. That is my honest review...

We bought the original purple being told it was soft. It is an extremely firm bed and although it does conform to your body it does NOT feel soft as we were told expressly by the sales rep that it would. Unfortunately we have no other mattress to use if we return this one so we are simply stuck

The Purple 4 is a good (not great) mattress. Unfortunately, the delivery and customer service experience was awful. Although I had a confirmed delivery date and time window, the mattress was a no-show. No one from Purple, their agent (Mana), or the local Boston delivery company (Rainbow Movers) could tell me what happened to the mattress and why it wasn't delivered. None of these three entities returned phone calls or emails as promised. Purple would only refer me to their agents for help. Hey Purple: you took my money for the mattress, I think the least you could do is actual help with figuring out why the mattress was lost and why I wasted a day off from work. I think Purple is accustomed to dropping the original mattress off at UPS. Unfortunately, they just can seem to,get the logistics right for the new mattress series (2, 3, and 4) because they actually require white glove service.

It has a different feel from any mattress I have ever slept on. I've had it about a month now, and I sleep harder now than previously on my old mattress (some kind of hybrid and not sure the brand). This mattress also sleeps cooler. If you're a hot sleeper I highly recommend it.

Had the purple mattress for about a month now and am very happy with its performance. Most comfortable sleep I've had in a long time. No more achy back in the morning. Be sure to get the stretchy sheets they recommend to allow the mattress to cradle you instead of the sheets. For the price it's a high performance mattress of great quality. I also suggest getting the pillows my neck pain after sleep is no longer there. Highly recommend all of purple's products.

The mattress is as advertised. It is cool and supportive. It took a couple of nights to get used to the difference from our old mattress. Now we love the purple. The sheets are awesome! We understand the reason for having sheets that are stretchable. We have recommended your products to our friends and associates.

While this no doubt a quality mattress made of quality materials and workmanship I'm sorry to say that this mattress just hasn't lived up to my expectations. I was hoping it would help alleviate my sciatica, but it hasn't. I still wake up in pain everyday. On the plus side, it has helped alleviate the pain and stiffness in my neck. But as for my back and right leg and foot, it hasn't helped at all. I was expecting a firm mattress thinking it was going to help with the sciatica, but this mattress is far too firm, in fact, its just plain hard. On a related note, my dog doesn't even doesn't like it and now sleeps on the floor! Sorry OnPurple, but I'll be starting the process for a refund.
