I have been sleeping on the Purple original mattress for almost a month and what a difference! My previous bed was a pillow top box spring mattress I had for several years. Have had the king size Purple mattress for about 60 days. My wife and I love it! Previously, my wife had been having restless sleep and waking up w/ back pains. I'm frankly very disappointed with the Purple Original, I did extensive research into multiple brands because I knew I'd be dishing out over a grand for a premium mattress. Getting the 'Original' was an obvious mistake on my part, this mattress should not be over $1000. It's weird because the majority of reviews say this is best for side sleepers, I wake up in more pain now than I did with my previous mattress. I honestly believe these mattresses are made for people above 180lbs possibly over 200lbs, these are not meant for anyone below that weight range(my husband is 200lbs, and thinks the mattress is great, I'm 160lbs). It feels like I'm laying on top of a camping mat. The mesh grid only compresses on my hips and even then the 'Original' only has 2inch of the gel grid once you get past that it's like sleeping on a board. Oh! Also, in none of the reviews online (google) did it mention that you had to buy the purple sheets in order to get the full potential of the mattress. So going onto the website was super confusing because they say that's what you had to do. But because none of the other reviews mentioned this I didn't think I needed them! Also a mistake on my part. I will be returning this item once I'm able to find an appropriate replacement. I really hope that purple donates the mattress and doesn't just take it to the dump.

This is far and away the best bed I have ever slept on. I wont lie and say that I was not skeptical when I first saw the ads. How is it possible that a bed could be soft and welcoming, but at the same time provide the support necessary for proper spine and neck alignment? I am still not very clear on the how, thought It sounds like it has something to do with the purple "food grade material" they are using. Visual oddities aside, the bed performs admirably. I can't remember the last time I experienced high quality sleep. I don't remember the last time I woke up without that annoying twinge in my neck or stiffness in my back. I have had to adjust my sleeping style a bit because I am not used to having the support I need from my bed. I am barely 3 weeks in and I do not see myself ever going back to a traditional bed. Take the 30-day challenge. You will more than likely be blown away by how much better you feel.

I was admittedly skeptical, but this mattress is exactly as advertised. Soft and supportive at the same time! I'm frequently finding myself in the same position when I wake up as how I feel asleep. I'll be encouraging anyone in the market for a mattress to give Purple a try.

It truly saddens me to post this as anything but amazing because I had high hopes for this. However, I must leave a review in hopes that I can save someone the money and frustration. After weeks & weeks of research, reading & watching reviews, I had decided on a Purple. For the 1st year & a half it was fantastic. I had previously been experiencing such hip, back & shoulder pain, it would wake me up in the middle of the night gasping for air and in tears. So this mattress, it was a dream. So extremely comfortable and literally the first night, NO PAIN. Fast forward a year & half later, i'm in the same pain. I try laying on my back, laying on my side & even my stomach which I can't stand doing. Oddly while the mattress itself is still comfortable to the feel, as soon as I lay down, instant pain. Then I wake up in such excruciating pain every morning & can't shake it during the day. It is currently 10PM & my hips are still aching. I've now resorted to sleeping on the couch lately, which of course had not been pleasant on my marriage. However, now my husband is in extreme pain daily as well. I am well beyond my 100 days so there is no returning. It makes me so sad that after all the hype, hopes & money, this was only temporary.

So my story starts with getting a full mattress and getting a wonderful deal on it, like I got a pillow and sheets and pillow cases to go with it! I ended up being too tall for my mattress so I had to get a bigger size, a queen. But during Covid-19 I couldn't find a place to take my full as a donation, so Purple allowed me to donate it to my best friend who hadn't changed mattress in over 9 years. Now we both recommend this mattress over any other! Super comfy, cool at night. I'm a heavier guy and I've never had a better nights sleep on any other mattress.15/10 would recommend.
