I love it! I can count the number of product reviews I have done on one hand. I just don't do it very often. But as a person who suffers from back pain, I have herniated discs in my back, I felt I should leave a review for other people who may be just like me. We tried other mattress companies and we just didn't like the rigid feel. Some were too soft and some were too hard. The purple mattress is hard to explain. I wouldn't call it soft or hard, more of it just has its own feel - and it's great! Like most people have said you need to give it a week for your body to get used to but it is absolutely worth it. I have never slept better in my entire life, and I would definitely consider myself a poor sleeper. It's amazing!

I'll start with the cons about the bed: it took a while to get to me. I also ordered it at the beginning of the Pandemic, so I can't be too mad at that during unprecedented times. That's it for the cons. This bed is INCREDIBLE. It's a strange feeling, almost as if I was floating atop the bed rather than sinking in, but the moment I focus on my breathing, I can feel that all of my prominent parts are being supported. I haven't looked forward to laying down for sleep in a few years, my bed was not conducive to rest. I was shocked to wake up without back pain, or sounding like crispy rice cereal. The bed and the pillow together, sleep is my friend again.

First impression on this mattress was that it felt weird, and even a little wobbly like sleeping on a water bed. You then soon become accustomed to the feel and softness. I love that it supports all styles of sleeping, and it is the best mattress I have ever slept on for side-sleeping.

I loved the initial comfort of it, but over the course of the month that we've had it, it is still hot to sleep on, and I feel like I am getting little support. it is way more comfortable than our other mattress was after its three-year lifespan. hopefully purple will redeem itself because I love the purple.

After many months of research and searching for the perfect mattresses. I decided on Purple 3. We were so excited when it arrived. This is a very good looking mattress, however that's where it all ends. I'm 6'2" 280 lbs. My first night was not comfortable, flaring up my back injuries from my military days gone by. 2nd night, toss and turn and more discomfort. 3rd night, continued discomfort. 4th night, left the bed in the middle of the night and tried to sleep on the couch. Next morning, moved the purple 3 out of the bedroom. Brought back the old mattress, slept wonderfully the following night. Additionally, this mattress is not cool. This mattress gets very warm. Suffocates your skin. The bed sheets pretty much sticking to your skin by morning. My girl friend, is 145 lbs. and says the mattress was comfortable for her, however she noticed feeling warm and not cool as described by the manufacturer. Moving this mattress is nearly impossible. You will need help from a neighbor. VERY, Very, very heavy. The mattress does not have any handles to help. Overall.. this is a really good looking mattress!!

Previously we had a nice namebrand inner spring, 1.5" pillow top mattress, with an added 2" memory foam pad and a mattress pad heater. It was a good combo but after 20 years it was developed a 'valley' in the middle so our sleep was not as pain-free as we wanted and it was sometimes a 'challenge' to climb out of the middle so we decided to get another one. My significant other found this purple site and we were both intrigued by the support/cradle combo of the purple and base foams. She also liked the description of how it sleeps cooler as she typically has 2-4 hot flashes a night and has to throw off all the covers. We ordered the purple king, enjoyed the numerous email updates on the shipping status and got the bed. A) It is 150 lbs - there are 2 handles on each end which really help to carry it. B) The attached cutter really does go easily through the straps and all just like they say. C) It does open quickly once finally cut loose so be prepared and don't leave fragile things on headboards/dressers nearby it case it unfolds and hits one of those. It was fully uncompressed in a short time and we really liked the way it gently cradled while also giving full support. Compared to our previous combo, it was not as 'cushy' as we were used to - but it did a great job of keeping the back aligned whether on our side or back just as advertised. Our first night, we used a set of high thread count cotton sheets (no stretch) and discovered the sheet does make a difference in the performance of the purple foam cradling. Purple recommends a stretchy sheet so we got one for night 2+ and the stretchy sheet was a significant improvement to allow the Purple to do its thing. As for the cooling - she has not had to throw the sheets off yet due to a hot flash, even after a few weeks! Neither of us feels the other person move or toss or flip or get out of bed either - the 'isolation' factor is fantastic. So - why are we not keeping it? Two reasons. First, we realized we both prefer more sinkage (a 'cushier' feel), something lower on the firmness scale. Two - for me (the guy) it slept too cool. While she loved it, I was feeling cold and typically didn't sleep well because of that. I could wear more to bed to offset that but I am a very picky sleeper (she teases me about how much effort I go through to get everything just right) and that was not something I wanted to do. After a month, I had to admit that my sleep was not as good as I wanted it to be for the next 5-20 years. She would have kept it if was just her but we had agreed that whatever we bought had to work well for both of us. Let me take a minute to discuss the customer service before I finish - it is fantastic! There was a minor issue with the mattress - that had no affect on its performance - but when we called Purple at 8:30pm (presumably to leave a message), the phone was answered and the issue immediately and pleasantly resolved. Plus when we decided to not keep the mattress, they were again professional, pleasant and expressed again they wanted us to be happy with the purchase. So the mattress does everything they advertise, their customer service is exceptional and if it sounds like this is a mattress that could work for you then we would still encourage you to give it a try.

This is the first mattress I've purchased for myself. I've had my eye on Purple for a few years now and loved the seat cushion, so when my 10+ year old traditional spring mattress started giving me back pain I knew which bed in a box I wanted to try first. Turns out it's also the last one I'll try! This bed is perfect for me. I usually change positions multiple times before falling asleep and used to struggle with pressure points. Since I got a purple I've had no issues and no back or neck pain at all in the morning. I also sleep hot and purple is amazing at not absorbing my body heat. I wake up comfortable in the middle of summer in Texas, instead of sweaty and stuck to the sheets. Also highly recommend getting the sheets, it's important to have very stretchy bedding so the grid can be as responsive as intended. Plus they're super soft and comfy.

I have been using the pillow and mattress for less than one month, but so far have been very pleased overall. I hope the products will hold up over time as I am sleeping much better. My only complaint is with a strong smell from the pillow that has been slow to fade. I am going to try washing it to see if that resolves the issue.

I heard a lot of great things about the Purple mattress, but I have to say I was even more impressed than I thought I would be. Its the perfect combination of soft and firm. Firm enough to support you, but soft enough that you feel like you're floating on a cloud. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new mattress!!

I bought this mattress after spending 8 months in the sand box on deployment. I can't sleep on super soft mattresses so after trying all purple had to offer I picked the original. Now instead of waking up in the middle of the night I have to fight to get out of bed. I'm very happy with this purchase and would do it again best mattress I've ever had and definitely way better then 3 hots and a cot.
