Our first purple mattress developed a big dip a few months into having it. When we finally could show how bad the dip was it was replaced. I had asked if since we were having to get a new one if we could lay extra to get a king. And was told no. That was disappointing. Now we're going to have to buy a king somewhere else.

I was really excited for this mattress, and upon getting approved through Affirm I was elated when I placed the order for my mattress. After paying and talking with purple, they told me they would not know when my product would be arriving until it was actually shipped. This kinda threw a wrench in things as I was leaving for a business trip in the coming week. They told me a soon as I got a tracking number I would be able to call FedEx and place a hold on the shipment. Fast forward a few days and purple emails me letting me know that my mattress has been shipped, no surprise - the delivery date is one day after I leave for a 3 week business trip. I then call FedExas purple advised me to and requested for them to place a hold on my mattress delivery date. They informed me that normally this would be not a problem and it's called a "vacation hold" but unfortunately purple no longer allowed vacation holds on their shipments (as it's up to the shipper, their expense). Now most people could have it held at a FedEx location for pick up when they get back but I physically am not able to drive for medical reasons, so that was not an option for me. I spoke with a FedEx manager who put a note on the shipment asking them to hold delivery until a certain date and I even left a note on my door asking the driver to hold it - but the mattress was left on my door step. I live in a condo in Miami Beach, not necessarily the best place for packages of any sort to be left on the doorstep. I contacted purple multiple times and asked them to have someone please come pick up the mattress. They told me the only thing I could do was cancel my order and then they would send someone to come pick up the mattress and take it back and then I would have to re-purchase the mattress. This is so far from quality customer service it's insane. Luckily when I returned home the mattress was there, but had been rained on, and was wet inside and out. after opening and allowing the mattress to dry I really have done my best to try and adapt to this mattress the past few weeks but unfortunately I don't think it's for me. I'm not sure if being wet and sitting out in the sun for weeks damaged it but this mattress is just not as advertised. The gel layer on top is not as bouncy or as soft to the touch as the pillow is, and truthfully I wish I did not give my old mattress away because I would be sleeping much better on that. While I'm on that topic, the pillow is an absolute disaster. I am a 6 foot 215 pound male who sleeps on his side often - and this pillow is nearly impossible to use. The pillow is maybe two or 3 inches thick, and my neck is crooked down to even make contact with the pillow when on my side. If you're a back sleeper this pillow is probably great, it feels good to the touch, the gel is super awesome - it the mattress get half as good as the pillow I'd be happy. If the pillow were 2x thicker I would love it! Overall, pretty unhappy, will be returning this and ordering from another company.

This is my second time buying a purple mattress and its the best mattress I have ever slept on, bar none. My experience with getting the product delivered was much worse the second time around. It took Purple a week before they even passed my mattress off to Fed EX, and then it took another week to get to me (It looks like it was sent from UT to CA before it was sent to MA). It wouldn't have bothered my so much but Purple kept giving me estimated delivery dates that Fed EX blew past. If I had known they shipping had gotten so much worse I would have just went to a store to buy it. Take more accountability for shipping delays or set better expectations from the start.

This is an update to a previous review I made of The New Purple Mattress 2. If I were writing this update alone, it would be more of a 2.5, but my husband still loves the mattress, so it gets a boost from his 5. At first, I loved it as much as he still does. My back pain went away, and I was waking up feeling less tired. As time has gone on, though, I started waking up before I needed to. At first, I thought it was just because I was getting a better rest and so was just not needed to sleep as long. But, I have been waking increasingly earlier. Now, it's up to over an hour before I need to. In addition to waking earlier, I wake up several times in the night to flip to my other side because the shoulder and hip of the side that I fell asleep on hurts. Then, I wake up again with the second shoulder and hip hurting and flip again, then I wake that more than an hour before I need to with that first shoulder and hip (now slept on twice) burning with pain. For a while, I would lie on my back at that point, but I'm not normally a back sleeper, and so can't go to sleep. Plus, my lower back started hurting from lying on my back for that last hour or so in bed, so now I just get up after I woken a third time in the night, no matter what time it is. My husband has been tossing and readjusting more in his sleep as well, but it hasn't woken him, and he doesn't have the pressure point pain. I, on the other hand, feel like I've been camping for a couple months.

I used to sell mattresses and always had a bad taste in my mouth towards memory foam. Well after having our first child who caused terrible lower back issues, working out 5 days a week lifting weights, and running around being a stay at home mom, I decided to give Purple a try. When it came in we unrolled it and out 2 year old jumped right on it! He loves to bounce on it. My husband and I have been sleeping amazing since the first day we got it! The best decision we have ever made!!

After years of lower back pain and waking up stiff all over, this mattress has changed how my body feels! After a few weeks sleeping on the Purple, I no longer have lower back pain or wake up with stiff muscles! I don't understand how, but I'm very grateful!

I want getting any real sleep before the purple mattress, but now I'm dreaming again and I'm comfortable. When I wake up from a dream I call my friends, that I dreamed about, and tell them all the details. All thanks to purple I can get good sleep again.

I did much research on mattresses and really wanted to try it. At first touch. The purple feels hard but it's really not. after a few nights I started to sleep better. I have sleep apnea so a good night sleep for me is difficult. You your partner gets out of bed you will never know it. As of now that mattress is here to stay.

We purchased this mattress in hopes of a better nights sleep. While the mattress is comfortable, I don't notice any better sleep vs the old inner coil. My wife however being about 100 lbs can not seem to get comfortable as she just does not "sink in". We are both side sleepers and looking for that magic feel that accommodates us both.

Yeah, I love mattress. Who doesn't? I'm going to focus on the seat cushion that you get as a bonus with the mattress. One word: AMAZING! Let's back up, I honestly could have cared less about the cushion when it arrived. It came with the mattress and I didn't have a need for it. I sat on it a few times and tried it out. Yeah, it was soft and all, but so are most seat cushions. It wasn't until I decided to take it with me on a 1,200 mile motorcycle ride I did a few weeks ago. Long rides kills even the strongest of rear-ends. This cushion saved my tush from getting worn out. Seriously, you guys need to start making these cushions designed to fit motorcycle seats!!!
