I got the Purple Pillow through the Kickstarter campaign. At first it seemed like it was going to be the best pillow I've had for a long time. However, after less than a year, it seems to be collapsing and the booster is getting crunchy like the plastic is deteriorating. For the price I'm disappointed as I have spent much less on pillows that have lasted longer.

I herniated a disc in my spine and stayed in pain for about 9 months. I started sleeping on my new Purple mattress only a week ago and it has already helped my back pain tremendously. For months I had been waking up with about 5/10 pain in the injury spot. Now I wake up with 0/10 or 1/10. I also live with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities and finding a mattress that I don't have reactions to is challenging. The Purple mattress does have a smell fresh out of the package, so for those who are extremely sensitive, you might want to offgas it first. But, it offgassed quickly for me. It smells like nothing after about a week or two! I used to own an Essentia, which is 4x the price. I thought I would be using my Essentia pillows, but I actually really love the Purple pillow. My neck feels more aligned. It's not ideal for sitting on the edge of the bed. It doesn't provide much support and I slowly slide off, but that's a minor inconvenience for having an MCS-safe, comfortable mattress that helps my back!!! Overall, I love my Purple mattress and everyone I know who owns one loves theirs, too, including another person with MCS.

This is literally the first bed I have ever owned ... Sadly I haven't even been able to enjoy it the way I would like to, but every time I do, i pretty much zonk out within minutes, no matter how I land. It's amazing! I was sorta skeptical about buying a mattress on the interwebs, but I trusted reviews and am sehr pleased. shipping was reasonable and it was all ready to go within minutes of slicing open the package. I do brag to my friends, but they have no idea! Buy this bed if youre looking to zonk out with little effort.

I have been sleeping on my Purple mattress for about 3 weeks now, and it's not working out. I am a side sleeper and I have not been able to sleep through the night on the mattress, and I am waking up with a lot of upper back and shoulder pain that I have never had before. The pain goes away quickly, but the bed really does "push back" hard against your neck and shoulders if you are on your side. I got my flu shot and booster shots while I have had the bed, and trying to sleep normally on my side with either shoulder even slightly tender from that was excruciating. And the bed just seems to be getting firmer and firmer as the days go on. The mattress is also seems to retain a lot of heat if you have anything other than a single fitted sheet on it. I tried using a mattress protector I had, and it made the bed significantly hotter. Even just a second fitted sheet as a little added protection has raised the temp several degrees. Will be returning the product.

We bought one of the first purple mattresses 6 years ago and have loved it!! It did get a depression in it before the 10 year warranty was up. But Purple replaced it, except we opted to just pay the difference for an upgrade and again, we love it!! We sleep great because we are supported where we need it!! Purple mattress has great customer service every step of the way!! Thanks Purple!!

I love my purple mattress original. I have bought it over two years ago and I STILL find myself laying on it saying I love my mattress! TWO YEARS!! When is the last time you loved a mattress for two years SOLID. Everyone I show my mattress to falls in love with it as well. I have become a Purple customer for life. The only thing that purple needs to work on is their pillows. The first and second generation pillows lack something to be desired. I have not had a chance to try Purple's newest pillow, but one day I will. The purple sheets/protector are both a must! they feel like sleeping in your favorite t-shirt while being hugged in a fluffy blanket. I have and will continue to buy sheets from purple. I would love to rate Purple mattresses at 6/5, the pillows as 3.5/5, purple sheets/protector 4.5/5 (I had a set of sheet rip a hole once, but purple replaced them with no hassle instantly. Only reason sheets lost half a point)!

Very, very pleased with the mattress; it is a fantastic buy, very cool and comfortable. I sleep so well I actually wake up before my alarm clock. Additionally, I got the Purple cushions to combat my Sciatica and have been Sciatica pain-free for a few weeks now. Thank you Purple.

The best thing about this mattress is that it is cool as advertised; memory foam sleeps way too hot for me. There are two problems I have with this mattress - one is that it is not very thick so the profile is too low to the ground for me considering it must be on a platform bed. The bigger problem for me, is that even through mattress pad, you can feel the indentations of the mattress. In my opinion they're pretty significant.

I am a restless side sleeper and have tried every kind mattress there is. I was skeptical that this mattress would not have any pressure on my hips or sink in like a memory foam does. Well I am a believer now and have had the best night's sleep since day 1 of opening the Purple Bed and this is day 24 I am writing this review. I've never had back pain from a mattress or shoulder pain or neck pain or lower leg pain! I wake up feeling like some one beat me with a bag of rocks! However my husband loves it and finally doesn't have back pain for the first time in years, so I guess it isn't all bad because it works for him. We haven't decided yet on returning it because it works so well for him. It's been five days and I'm sleeping in our spare bedroom tonight because I have a road trip tomorrow and no way could I last with all this pain. My shoulders are making a horrible crackling sound now and my neck is either throbbing or tingling at all times. I am so disappointed. Also I would like to add that there is no support for my lower back and because of the way the mattress is, my legs only get partial support and when I lay down on my back it elevates my feet in the air with no support so my ankles have been hurting, I feel like im sleeping in a torture chamber! Also for perspective I'm 36 and five foot four and 130 pounds.
