First night of the purple mattress, the first thing I noticed is that this bed is much firmer than what I had imagined. I would not call this a medium bed, that seems like a lie. It is however very supportive and the gel grid is NICE. It is cooling and kept me comfortable all night. We will see how long it lasts however. But currently giving it a 4 star review. Could turn into a 5 star if it continues to give me support for my lower back issues.

I have been on quite a few mattress in my life. None compare to how much this mattress helps with your pressure spots. Once my head hit the purple pillow and mattress it is lights out. No more rolling around trying to find a comfortable spot. I plan on buying my kids mattress in the future.

I love my new bed. My back feels great and I have had very little back issues since. All of the positive reviews are spot on. Might feel a little hard at first but with the right sheets and a few weeks its amazing. Best bed ever. Only part I was a little upset was after buying this, the pillow came out. Now if you buy a king sized bed it comes with the pillows. Still trying to save money to get the pillow as it must be as amazing as the bed.

My wife and I went through for different mattresses within 2 years. We finally found a purple mattress and our search was over. This is by far the most supportive mattress. Moving 4 king mattresses and returning 2 to the store was miserable but worth it in the end. I rarely write reviews but I am happy to do so this mattress

I'm still waiting for the full Purple experience that should include the matress protector and my pillow. Doing business with Purple is like hiring a contractor to add a room onto your home or business and having the contractor tell you, "Go ahead and pay me and I'll be back in two months, most likely, to finish building that last wall and the rest of the roof. Enjoy your new room."

I bought this for my 7 year old daughter since I also have a Purple 4 Hybrid mattress and she wanted one that was like mine. I think the purple layer is a little slim for an adult but for someone thin or small it is great. Almost got the kids mattress but decided to just spend the extra to get one that she won't outgrow as easily. She loves it.

The top "purple" layer is super soft. Once you lay on it everything is compressed. The layer under the purple is super hard! So what you end up with is not overly comfortable unless you like a very hard bed with a layer of super soft material on top. We watched the egg commercial for years and assumed the purple layer would do more than collapse. It does nothing. Very sad!

OK. At first I borderline hated the purple mattress. I'm under 130 pounds, so the floating effect they warn of is 100 percent accurate. For a few weeks I hurt like heck (but not really any worse than the pain I was experiencing from my old Tempur pedic, just different). Trying to find the right pillow was frustrating (I'm mostly a side and sometimes a back sleeper). I tossed and turned like crazy at night, never getting into a deep sleep. I finally found a pillow that worked for me, and at around three weeks, my back pain almost completely disappeared. But my arm/shoulder pain and the falling asleep feeling in my arms persisted, keeping me awake at night. Then, one day I laid on my husband's side and noticed the bed was significantly softer over there. I decided to rotate the bed head to foot so that I was now on his side (yuck, my head is where his feet were). It was softer and more cozy, but my back pain returned for a couple of days and I was ready to throw the bed away and try a different mattress. After a few days though, the gimpyness went away and slowly I started sleeping better. Once I got more sleep, everything started improving and I started falling in love with the bed. After a couple of months, we've officially decided to keep it and have even bought a second set of cotton sheets as opposed to our stretchy ones. There isn't a significant enough difference to us now that the bed is broken in to pay the extra money for stretchy sheets (you know how hard it is to find good quality Jersey sheets in king sized? That was a pain in the rear). I'm knocking my review down to four stars not because of the adjustment period or the sheet buying experience, but because of two other factors: 1). Our bed is about 3-4 inches shorter than a king sized bed is supposed to be, and 2 inches less in width as well. This is not a deal breaker because neither my husband nor I are very tall, but if we were we would be upset. I did contact Purple and they were willing to trade, but we wanted to wait to see if we were going to keep the bed at all before doing so. Now that we've broken it in, I don't really want to go through all that again. 2) I am a bit afraid of the long-term for this bed because the indentations on mine and my husband's sides are already getting obvious just by looking at them, and are extremely obvious when you compare the feel of them to the middle of the bed. Everyone we have try it out notices a huge difference between the sides and the middle. But, they seem to have a fair warranty, so hopefully if it breaks down badly enough before the warranty ends, they'll stand by it. We're excited for our next future adventure! Purple pillows!

I was skeptical that this mattress could really change the way I feel, but after all the reviews and no sleep/pain in my body my husband and I decided to give it a try. I'm 25 and have fibromyalgia, so I have chronic pain. I slept on it the first night through the entire night and woke up for the first time in my life without pain. I've considered applying to work for this company because of how much I rave and sell it to my friends! Ha. I was always a side sleeper and actually can sleep on my back now. Also, my husband gets really hot in the night and I get cold, and it's been the perfect temperature for both of us. I look forward to getting in my bed every day now! Can't rave about it enough.

We've had our purple mattress for about 3 weeks now and so far I am liking it. I definitely feel I'm sleeping better, but still tend to wake with some back pain that I was hoping a new mattress would help. My husband loves it so far! I've noticed he doesn't seem to snore as bad. Overall, we are liking it!
