I sleep on my side or stomach. When sleeping on my side, I found the bed would initially be comfortable, but over time it became so painful I would have to reposition. When sleeping on my stomach, without a pillow, I found it very unpleasant to have the grid pressed in my face. As with side sleeping, it would become painful and I would have to reposition. To be fair, I've only tried it for one night.

I am a 6' male weighing 157 lbs-broad shoulders 33 waist, 39 hips. I am a side sleeper.After 2 wks with the Purple mattress, I have not been able to get through the night on it-too much pain in the hip. Seems to bottom out where hip bone contacts the bed. I have tried with a regular cotton sheet and with no bottom sheet all. Neither works.

I love this bed! It definitely lives up to its reputation. It is much more supportive than our other mattresses. The only recommendation that I have is to have an option for a thicker purple topper. I have severe shoulder and hip pain and the thinner top is good but a thicker one would ease my discomfort more.

I'll try to be brief. 300 lbs, old back injury, 53 yr old male, side and back sleeper. Traditional mattress and box springs would break down slowly, making it hard to tell that there was a change. I thought my back injury was to blame when I woke up feeling worse than when I went to bed. "You need to spend more and buy a "better" bed!" I was told. I can only spend so much on a failing system. I worked it down to where I felt "ok" with about 5 hrs of sleep. When I'd sleep in on the weekends I felt worse. Decided to buy the way-expensive but oh-so-worth-it Purple original. First the frame arrived and we removed our old frame and box springs and used our old mattress on it. With the luxurious under-bed storage it's worth just buying the frame because my old mattress felt so much better on it and now I had massive storage space. Honestly, if you're on a budget and your profile is similar to mine the frame is great all by itself with a standard mattress. Such an improvement. Then the sheets arrived but I wanted to wait to use them on the Purple. Finally the incredibly heavy giant purple package arrived. I can carry our old mattress with one hand by myself. You'll need 2 people to move the Purple. Heavenly. I almost cried after the first night sleep because I felt great when I woke up and I haven't felt that way for a long time. Now I look forward to sleep AND WAKE UP FEELING LIKE I GOT A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP. I had to all-cap that because it's a huge difference. Yes, you might be able to spend enough money to find a mattress that holds up to 300lb sleepers but based on my experience it will be at least as much as the Purple and it's still a gamble. "Oh you should've got brand X" they'd say after it broke down. It was fine for me right out of the box but my wife wanted to put a topper that she loves on it, didn't change it much and she's happy. We're both happy. Oh yeah, the sheets are insane. Smoothest thing I've ever felt. I never thought I'd love a bed, but I do. I couldn't be happier with it. (and the under-bed storage space is insane!)

Overall, this is the best mattress ive ever slept on. With that being said here are the few things ive noticed, and experienced. First off befor i start, i have the Base Purple (2" grid) and I am 5'8 @ 151lb .The mattress has changed the way i sleep, and it makes me excited for bed every night. The four issues I have with it are; 1.) the sheets you use completely change your sleep experience. if they dont have a ton of give, you might as well sleep with no fitted sheet. Honestly, because the grid cant conform to your body, so buy extremely stretchy and thin..er sheets.. which bring me to my next point 2.) the bed is "cooler" than your memory foam mattress, but it still gets you hot.. because at the end of the day you're still sleeping on rubber. so the bed still does get warm, and when youre "getting down to business" it gets even hotter. 3.) Im a side sleeper, and it still hurts my sholder. BUT not remotely as bad as my old Memory foam mattress. I notice i have to switch positions untill my shoulder is comfortable then ill fall asleep. 4.) This is the last of my issues, promise! the bed is not like Memory foam, to the extent that when someone sleeping next to you moves or changes sides you dont feel it. i feel almost every movement that my partner makes, and when im falling asleep it startles me. In conclusion, i wanna stress that this is an amazing Mattress! I really think that all my issues come from me only having the first orginal base model. With that being said I will 100% be buying another one with all the bells and whistles. I recommend 1000% that you honestly buy a purple Mattress, and try it out for yourself.

I am extremely displeased with the new day mattress and the service to which I have to pay for the mistake of a purple employee that ultimately caused me not to be able to afford to switch the mattress that would be suitable and because I had to deal with multiple people telling me different things and ultimately I still do not have a cal king or a softer mattress and am STUCK with the king new day that doesn't even fit in my bed frame I'm over this company and if I can't get anything resolved with my next call they can come get all of it this experience has been by far one the worst customer service experiences ihave ever had If you have employees telling people one thing and call back get a supervisor on the phone and guess what she had no clue about anything and said that employee was confused well make it right ....nope well now it's goin on 2 mo and I still stuck with a crappy situation

I have been sleeping on expensive mattresses for most of my life. Now, any time my wife and I are away from home for even a single night, we both mis our Purple mattress. I've decided to put them in every bedroom in my house. I can't recommend them enough!

I had a memory foam bed before this and it was sunken in the middle and my girlfriend would always wake up grumpy so I decided to get this bed and it is awesome. Now she wakes up in a great mood and makes me pancakes from scratch and of course the bed is awesome for sexy time.

I'm not a small guy and a side-sleeper, which always gives me sore shoulders in the morning. We ordered our King Purple Mattress and I was immediately more comfortable sleeping on my side. The mattress allows my shoulders to sink into the gel while also providing an even temperature and super-comfortable and supportive sleep. Even sitting in bed watching TV is a more comfortable experience. I highly recommend this mattress.

We debated back and forth over getting The Purple Mattress or the Purple Hyrbid Premier 3, and wound up going with The Purple Mattress and we don't regret it. We went from an eight year-old pillow top and woke up with aches and pains every morning. I now look forward to sleeping, and I wake up with no pain! We definitely love the weightless feeling you get with this. Don't forget to grab the Harmony pillow and sheets!
