For the amount of money I paid, I thought it would be this amazing difference from my old mattress. After about 3 weeks, I realized I could of just stayed with my old mattress for free because there is really no difference for me. My wife is sending hers back and I am likely to do so too and look for a more premium king split mattress.

During the first 100 nights it was honestly really nice to sleep in but now my back, sides and neck are killing me. DAILY. I honestly hate to sleep now and I can't afford to just throw the bed away now. I'm actually really really sad about it. I really wish I could finally sleep comfortably. It was the new Purple Bed "2" I guess I should have gotten the old one.

It's not a terrible bed. Wish it was a little thicker and a little softer but overall I can get a good night's sleep. If I sleep in though I do wake up with a sore back. Anything longer then 7-8hrs and I'm sore. So sleeping in on weekends I havent been able to enjoy but my last bed was the same way and why I went with a purple. We are keeping it tho.

The Purple Mattress was comfortable the moment I layed on it. As a side sleeper, I didn't realize that our prior spring mattress didn't relieve pressure points until I had the comparison...what a difference. After a couple of nights, I felt it was as warm as our prior mattress (something I hoped would change). When I called customer service, a really nice lady suggested I put the Purple mattress cover & Purple stretchy sheets on the mattress because she could tell me from firsthand experience that it would made a difference. They arrived a week after the mattress because I had forgotten to include the code on my order, good news again on customer service is they sent them after I realized I hadn't received with the mattress! She was right, first night with the cover & stretch sheets and I slept cooler and more comfortable. Well done Purple!

I don't hate it, but it's very firm and I will most likely return it. It feels a little like sleeping on a giant jello jiggler. My body lays on top of it, not in it. I like to feel a little more cozy in bed. That being said, I wish it was softer because I do think it is much more temperature neutral than normal beds. I have yet to try any memory foams with fancy cooling layers though. I sweat really bad at night and my night sweating frequency has gone way down and is less severe with the purple.

My first impression with purple really didn't have much to do with purple at all It was with Affirm so far I am really happy with their service and how it works. Now to the mattress. It arrived a day late which was a bit annoying but not terrible. It was easy to set up, had no weird smells and inflated quickly. I was happy with how clean it was. IT IS NOT THE SIZE ADVERTISED. Vertically its an inch and a half plus short. Width wise it's off about a half inch. Personally this is a mistake that is not a big deal practically, however it drives me nuts. When you have 2 founders one that is a, "literal rocket scientist" and you place the specific measurements on your website... it should meet them every time without question. It just feels like a cheap and insulting move. Because who would really expect them to fix a problem like that it seems petty. It just shouldn't be a thing. My other concern which, in total transparency hasn't happened at all yet, is all the negative reviews that talk about the mattress breaking down and creating divots in 6 months to a year. I unfortunately can see this happening without too much strain. Just based on how the mattress feels. As long as this is something they replace IF it occurs at all I have no real concern. This is why I will review again at 6 months and a year. Moving on...the edge support is negligible and the thickness leaves something to be desired. At 5'10 and 160 lbs I don't feel evenly supported and I'm clearly not a big dude. Head, shoulders and mid back all feel really good. However my lumbar spine and hips feel pulled down by my legs and it creates a space where I have less support then I should. This is made most egregious on your back position. Unfortunately its a problem I am reminded of a few times a week and keeps me from adopting a back sleeping position. If you are an unfortunate stomach sleeper like me a thinner pillow with this mattress will probably make your life better, as it seems like the best pairing. Purple 1 isn't cheap and no amount of clever marketing should make the value go up on its own. On principle, the purple 1 feels like a very good rough draft. And if you want to get the real deal I would assume you must get a purple 2 on up. Once you cross that line though you are back to paying a high premium and they really haven't done you any favors compared to many other companies they simply just have a different approach. Reading the product descriptions supports my feelings that if you have a problem with your purple one they tried to fix it with the newer models. unfortunately you don't know its an issue until you have tried the original. One to the good things. I enjoy my purple so far in its softness and support in all areas not limbo pelvic. Its Extremely cool it really doesn't feel like it retains much if any of your heat. I noticed a difference in the first night sleep with a major reduction of shoulder and neck pain to almost zero. The Unique feel isn't an issue for me at all, but it is different. It really doesn't feel like a traditional mattress and I could see that bugging some i really like it though. Not only does it not seem to produce any smell or off gassing it seems like a very cool and clean space to breath. I know that sounds odd, i just find my breathing better frankly when I am on it and look for ward to that. Purple has been a bit to slow to respond for me yet, in fairness its December, and the facade of this happy bubbly company that, "hopes you have a purple day!" kinda makes you feel like you aren't being taken seriously. It seems that building a brand and keeping the name clean is the most important thing. Somewhere in the middle lie, pun not intended, you and the principle quality of the mattress. It probably doesn't sound like it, yet I am cautiously optimistic. I think the issues I have are all lazy easy to fix issues and that is, frustrating. The real question is with all the positives do I want to ride out the rough draft? Upgrade ( no i don't think i should have to to resolve them these seem like problems that shouldn't exist at this level of rocket science and cost). Or find something different. Plainly I like this mattress I just don't feel like i should have to live with the little issues or upgrade. Solid 3 1/2 stars. We will see what another 60 days has to say. I suffer from chronic pain with multiple spinal and hip issues. It used to take me hours of tossing and turning before I could fall asleep, my first night on Purple I fell asleep almost instantly. When I woke up, I wanted to cry tears of joy. My hips and back were not stiff and achy for the first time in years. I also have issues with burning up at night, and I've never slept cooler than with my Purple. I live in the Deep South and would have to turn my air down very low at night just to try to sleep. Now I can save on electricity by being able to keep it up at night. My husband also adapted quickly, within a week he was also having the best sleeps of his life and being a U.S. sailor, the time he gets to sleep is precious. Thank you for creating this, from the bottom of my heart. I am astounded at how affordable it is and how quickly it's changed my life. I'll be recommending it to my father and grandmother who also suffer from chronic pain. Thank you again. I will be a devoted customer for life.

I wanted to like the purple mattress, but it apparently didn't like me or my back didn't like it. I saw all of the rave reviews, testimonials, egg tests, a variety of youtube infomercials, but in the end things just didn't work out with the purple mattress. I honestly thought it would be the end of interrupted and uncomfortable sleep, but it wasn't. This is not to say it doesn't work for everyone because how else could the company offer a guarantee that allows the consumer a money back guarantee?

I am a heavier woman. This bed was great until the side where I sleep started breaking down and losing its support. I used to love this bed. Waking up pain free and sleeping wonderfully. Now I wake up sore. I can definitely tell that the material where I lay is different from the material that surrounds my body impression. Unfortunately, purples warranty only replaces the bed if there is a 1 inch deep impression "after recovery" which means that they will never really have to replace a mattress due to the material that is used for their beds. I anticipate that there will never be a 1 inch deep impression, the larger issue at hand is how unsupportive the material has become where I lay overtime. It recovers to its semi normal height when I get up, the issues is that the material has more give now after time.

Wish we would have found this mattress many purchases ago. It is absolutely the best! We have no more hip, back, shoulder, or leg pains. I don't toss and turn and my husband doesn't snore anymore or wake in the middle of the night with leg cramps. Every time we get in the bed, it is like getting on a new mattress. It doesn't remember your body indentations, goes back to new when you get out. And it doesn't get warm, stays cool. Best mattress we have ever had! Researched for over a week and chose this one. The time spent was well worth it. It is a little pricey but, so far, we think it is a good investment and one we hope to have for years to come. HIGHLY recommend!
