I tested dozens of mattresses. I normally need very very firm beds to prevent my back and neck from aching; I tried the new versions of my old mattress (Sealy Posturepedic) and thought they were ok; then the second I laid down on the Purple Mattress (original) I almost died. It is the perfect blend of support and squish. I cant just lay in bed and not fall asleep now; great for night time, bad for my stack of books. I cant imagine any mattress coming close to this level of comfort. I tried Nectar and Molecule and neither offered the experience that the Purple did. This mattress is worth every penny.

I work shifts and my wife stays with our toddler at the house most days, so sleep is difficult to come by and is often interrupted. This is probably the last mattress we will ever buy. It's so comfortable. It's not super cushy and soft, but it cushions perfectly. While still staying firm. All the hype is true. I highly recommend this mattress. We had ours for a couple years now and just purchased a new one for our daughter. She's super picky and hated every mattress we've gotten for her. As soon as we rolled out the purple mattress and put a sheet on it she climbed in and has been in heaven. So I can honestly say this mattress is for everybody!

The Purple Mattress is wonderful! For those of you solely depending on reviews in order to make a decision please remember something; your sleep experience does not solely rest on the hard work of a mattress company. If you live a healthy lifestyle with good diet and exercise I am confident that the Purple Mattress will provide a perfect sleep environment. I love mine and I am horribly unhealthy. Surprise.

I have been sleeping on Purple for a little over a month now. I have been sleeping deeper and a lot of the times I have been waking up in the same position I fell asleep in. I also find I wake up earlier and well rested. My back still aches but nothing near what it has been in the past. I am a stomach, back, and side sleeper, but I tend to find this mattress more comfortable when I sleep on my back. My husband likes firmer beds and I like softer beds but we both appreciate this one, My husband also sleeps hot but he hasn't been sweaty or uncomfortably on this mattress so far.

I'm not a small guy and a side-sleeper, which always gives me sore shoulders in the morning. We ordered our King Purple Mattress and I was immediately more comfortable sleeping on my side. The mattress allows my shoulders to sink into the gel while also providing an even temperature and super-comfortable and supportive sleep. Even sitting in bed watching TV is a more comfortable experience. I highly recommend this mattress.

Still on the fence about keeping this mattress. It is just not what I expected. I watched tons of YouTube videos and read all the rave reviews. The one thing nobody mentions is how it feels to lay on it. By no means is it uncomfortable, but the way it's designed to contour to your body for maximum support, it misses giving you that soft bed feeling. I was expecting to feel like I was laying on a high end resort bed, a bed I don't ever want to get out of. The purple mattress doesn't make me feel that way. I am sleeping cooler on the purple mattress. The bed is not cold, it just does a great job at dispersing the heat. The packaging the bed comes in is fantastic, but I do have gripe. Why isn't the mattress flipped, then rolled up, at the factory. The way it's rolled up, you have to flip it over once it's unrolled, which is no easy task since the bed is flexible and heavy. I had pretty high expectations for this mattress. I'm just not sure it meets those.

At first I was skeptical about the purple mattress. The video is a little hard to believe but I was hooked. After dragging the mattress up a flight of steps( I would not recommend doing it alone as I did), set up was a breeze. I have arthritis in my hips and the base of my back. I can honestly say I feel relief with this mattress compared to our old spring loaded pillow top. I will buy another one in the future.

Researched into many mattresses and this one fit the bill. I usually see things before I buy they but wanted a non spring bed. The only problem with most foam beds is they seem to sag or retain heat. I sleep very warm. The grid system is firm yet designed to keep you more cool. Its really a great design and its a firm bed but at the same time soft. I can turn on any side of my body and not have any pain from the mattress. Thank you purple. It was well worth the investment1

Day 1: unpacked purple, HEAVY, AWKWARD, HARD TO MOVE! Laid on it, pretty excited. This definitely feels different than any beds I've laid on. Sat up... Hmmm... Not a lot of movement to my husband, that's good. Doesn't feel too hard to lay on, but sitting up I can feel my back compressing. What's that smell? Maybe it will dissipate. Will our sheets fit? Do I like this bumpy feel to the top? It feels like an egg crate under this top layer. Why are my feet hanging of the end of the bed? I'm only 5'7... They've never done than before, is this bed shorter? Hmm, look at that, it's like 2 inches shorter. Night 1: noticed the smell immediately, but still hopeful it'll fade, and the bed felt very supportive. Within the first ten minutes, my shoulders were being pinched in such a way as my hands fell asleep. I'm 5 months pregnant and side sleep mostly. My lower back feels supported great, but it's hurting my round ligaments in my hips, put my pillow between my legs, nope, And I can't feel my arms, I adjust to my back to let my arms wake up, OUCH! Even more painful on my hips. Fluff a pillow under my legs.... Nope, that's just as bad. Why does my pillow under my head feel like a rock now too? It was like this all night. They are right, it doesn't hold heat, I was cold before the night even began, which is a plus, but I'm still out on whether this is the bed for us. My Husband reported readjusting all night, too. He's unsure if it felt too hard or too soft? My guess is too hard under that top layer. Sitting up and standing this morning was easier, my lower back wasn't stiff, but man my hips are mad....Moving on to night two... 2 months later: (7 months pregnant) Finally, my husband seems to have adjusted to the bed, about 2 weeks in, we put a softer memory foam on top of it because of the constant pinching/pressure spot to my shoulders. I'm finally able to sleep. While this bed has been wonderful for my lower back issues as it's hard as heck and keeps me in alignment, I would definitely not say this is the best mattress for us. We simply cannot use it the way it was intended, sheets constrict the gel thing on the top, which lets face it folks, who isn't going to use a sheet on their bed, I have kids... Pee? Poo? Vomit? So it automatically made for a hard bed, it's supportive for sure, and that's the only reason I didn't return it. I don't wake up MOST nights with lower back pain. So there's it's only redeeming quality. I had to add a mattress topper to make it not hurt my shoulders as I'm a side sleeper. But I am free of lower sciatica pain. Seems to me it's a trade off...
