The firmness of the mattress has been something we have had a hard time getting used to. The mattress doesn't seem to have the cooling qualities it was portrayed to have. The recommended mattress topper make you feel like your sleeping on a plastic bag. We have added a 4 inch foam topper to the bed and have started to sleep better.

I have a very hard time finding a mattress that doesn't hurt my back, shoulders and hips being a side sleeper! I have had the purple for a few weeks and don't wake up sore anymore! My back did take a few days to adjust, but it was more like when someone who has terrible posture sits up straight ha. My hubby has slept wonderfully and says it ruined all other beds for him. Very happy!

My wife and I are baby boomers. We've slept on upper end coil spring mattresses for years. When the first 'memory foam" mattress came to the market, we ordered one. It was like sleeping on a gym pad. Disappointed (and sore) back we went to another good quality coil spring mattress and were comfortable with it for years. Now, much like us, this mattress became weak & saggy. Our sleep suffered and the morning aches and pains grew stronger. Clearly it was time to replace. I researched various mattress types and brands for about 3 months learning more about mattresses than I ever wanted to. Coil spring, gel foam, memory foam, hybrids, etc. - the whole list of opportunities. All claimed to be the most comfortable, best to support your body and durable. I really struggled with buying a mattress on the internet without trying it out in the store but after looking at the customer reviews and comments about customer service with the 100 night test we decided to give it try. Purple was the only truly unique product on the market and the only real new innovation in this industry in a lot of years. Still skeptical, I ordered one of the Purple chair cushions first and we all tried it out. The final determination was made when I set the cushion on our bed for a minute and our French bulldog instantly curled up on it and went to sleep. This dog is a professional sleeper so his endorsement was good enough for us. BTW- you folks at Purple might want to expand into the pet bed market next. I think you'd find a lot of pet-loving buyers there. I ordered a king mattress on Jan 1, 2017. Purple did communicate that they were backlogged with orders from Black Friday & the Holidays. I told my wife that such demand was a good thing because they are obviously selling a lot of units, many by word of mouth I assume from satisfied customers. They've only been in the mattress game for the last 12 months so I'm sure they are dealing with some growth issues. The mattress finally arrived Jan 19. Yes, it was heavy & bulky but it unpacked easily and instantly went to full size when unrolled. No wait, no odor- just instant bed! I had read some reviews that said it may take up to a week to get use to the feel of this new mattress but not for us. From night one- we absolutely LOVE this mattress. We are so impressed we ordered one for our son & his wife and they are anxious for it to arrive. I wrote this review because the vast majority of those I saw during my research were from younger folks and I just wanted to tell my fellow boomers & other more senior folks that this mattress is for us too. Purple cost is in the upper end for the 'mattress in the box via internet" market. Maybe one or two others more expensive and then you get to the whole Tempurpedic & Sleep Number thing costing what a small car would. I would argue that the Purple technology is what sets it apart from all of the others and is clearly worth the price (assuming it holds up). Bottom line- I absolutely recommend this mattress to anyone for who a good night's sleep is important!

When my wife and I first got this mattress we were happy. Seemed like a good buy. Our last mattress was a disaster and anything was an upgrade from that. After awhile we were walking g up feeling like we didn't really get much sleep. Both my wife and I consistently wake up with numb limbs. Im a bigger guy at 260 but my wife is 100 lbs soaking wet so this bed isnt performing for anyone within a reasonable weight. We both are developing shoulder problems. I can barely get to sleep anymore because of the pain. My wife is having issues with her hips and shoulders. She wakes up angry everyday now. Do you know what it's like to wake up next to an angry women everyday? This bed is ruining my life. This bed is the worst we've ever slept in. Were both young and in good health but this bed is making us feel old and out of shape. I love the marketing but take it from me... This bed is the worst. Looking back I should have known from the way they oversell this product. Its a bed... Not a Cadillac.... Tone it down. I would ask for a refund but I think I'd get more satisfaction watching this thing burn in my yard.

Strongly recommend to the people who are looking for the mattress that simultaneously has functional and medical benefits for comfortable sleep. My wife told me her lower back pain was definitely reduced after sleeping on Purple. I also am satisfied with using Purple so much. Thanks Purple~! (My wife and I are waiting for the Pillow by Purple!!)

We are pleased with the sleeping quality of the purple mattress. Very comfortable and don't feel bed moving when my husband moves around. Disappointed in the fact that it was advertised as "king" size; but it is smaller by several inches than our regular king mattress. We do not have a California King. We were hoping that after it unrolled from it's packaging, it would straighten up enough to fill out the bed. IT DID NOT, so it looks cheap and incomplete. Very disappointed in that aspect. I had back surgery during the 100 day trial period and was not able to deal with what could be done about the size issue. The mattress is on the bed, but either the pillows fall off between the mattress & headboard or my husband's feet extend beyond the mattress at the bottom. We do like the mattress, but the size is quite a bit off.

I have had my Purple mattress (queen size) for ~5 months now and I have to say I never worry about what my Quality of Sleep will be. I ALWAYS wake up feeling revitalized and falling asleep has never been easier. Thank you Purple for giving me and my wife a truly perfect mattress. No more hot spots, no more uncomfortable positions, no more firm vs soft, just 100% perfection night after night!

My Purple Mattress experience has been excellent all-around! Deciding which products to purchase was a breeze as everything is well-described on the site. Also, the products were offered at discounted prices due to ongoing and very generous sales. I definitely appreciated that! When it came to delivery, the most important items didn't take too long to get here and the tracking information was always available and accurate. One caveat was the delay in shipment of the Purple sheets set which took about two additional weeks to arrive. But this is understandable as they are a highly in-demand item. About the mattress, pillows and sheets, I can say that I was immediately blown away by their comfort and quality. My previous mattress was an ancient spring dinosaur used for about two decades so it was definitely time for an upgrade! My nights' rests thus far have been extremely cozy and scot-free. Never have I looked forward to turning in at night more than I do now! I give Purple my highest recommendation!

Purple was the third mattress I have bought in the last 6 years. The first was too soft and my back would ache. So I over-corrected and bought a nice extra firm mattress that made my hips burn and I couldn't wait to get up to make it stop. I thought it was because I am not a spring chicken anymore! But with my new purple mattress I can get up and not wait for my joints to "un stiffen" and have full range of motion! I also had been having some hot flash issues that made it so I had to keep my room cool enough to hang meat in. But because my new mattress doesn't need a foam topper to make it bearable I can sleep normally again. So glad that purple made me realize it's not me...it was my mattress! Thanks purple, you really did change my quality of life. Trying to convince my parents that they need one NOW!!

Bought a twin xl. Delivery was prompt, set up was simple.. I paired it with my own power base. I got the purple sheets for it too which are incredible and soft. Ive been sleeping on it for about a month now and I am very glad I wound up getting it. Sleeps very cool, its way better than anything I've tried in the past. Thanks purple.
