I've been researching to buy a bed for some time since my old pillow top bed was way overdue to be replaced. I actually slept in every other room other than my bedroom simply because I didn't want to wake up with lower back pain. I've spent a lot of time researching and going to mattress stores in search of a new bed. I knew I was going to buy a bed in a bed mattress but needed to determine what type of mattress to get. I've looked at so many mattress to include tuft n needle, amerisleep, sealy cocoon, nectar, bear, ghostbed, Casper etc. I'm a combo sleeper (back/side) and do not like to sleep hot. I have slept on memory foam and pocket coil mattresses which I have in my other bedrooms. I enjoyed the pocket cool mattress for the back support and coolness however I did not have as much support for my shoulder when I slept on my side. I enjoyed the comfort and support of the memory foam mattress however I did notice it was slightly harder to move around and slept a little warmer than the pocket coil. During my research, I came across purple and noticed it appeared to sleep cool, was responsive, and still offered support. One of my biggest concerns is sleeping cool as the summer months get extremely hot and sleeping cool is extremely important (my last bed, a pillow top, slept extremely warm). One thing that helped push my decision was watching a video on the purple mattress where they used a pressure mat to show where the support was. There was a big difference in pressure relief compared to some of the other mattresses I was looking it. I have read mixed reviews on the purple but after all my research, I decided to pull the plug and get one since after all I could return it if I didn't like it. After getting bed and lying on it, I noticed it was responsive yet supportive. When I laid on my back, I felt as if I was floating on the mattress however when I turned to my side, I sank in a litttle and felt support in my hips and shoulder. For about the first week and a half, my wife and I woke up with slight back pain and I was extremely disappointed because I thought I really wanted to love this mattress. I told myself I needed more time to get used to this mattress and I was right. I absolutely love this mattress and I have gotten probably the best quality of sleep I've had in many years. I literally dream every night which was unheard of with my old mattress. It sleeps extremely cool for which I am very happy. The only downside I would say is that I wish there was a little more shoulder support when I sleep on my side however I still sleep great (I didn't want to spend a lot more $ on the newer purple mattresses which are very expensive). Overall extremely pleased with my purchase and I would definitely recommend giving this mattress a try.

I liked the mattress at first. Woke up feeling pretty rested. That only lasted a short while and then I started waking up with aches and back pain. Unfortunately for me when I decided to call for a refund I was 4 days past the trial period. Now it seems I am stuck with a mattress I don't like. If you start to doubt if this mattress is right for you get a refund immediately.

We had high hopes for the Purple mattress. We were replacing a nearly 20 year old innerspring w Box spring mattress. At first it was great but after a week or two I am noticing some issues that may break the deal causing us to return it at the end of our trial. If I lay on my back which i usually do for part of the night it is pretty comfortable but as I turn to the side I feel like I am bottoming out and feel pressure on my hips that can keep me awake. It was OK when we put it on top of our existing box spring but once we removed the box spring and set it up on a mattess base you could really tell the difference. I definitely do not love it. The mattress is also annoyingly loud with the purple mattress protector on it. You can hear crinkling anytime you move and I also wonder how the breathability and coolness factor is actually achieved once the protector is on. Unfortunately. with that said I am leaning more towards returning it than keeping it. I had high hopes for the mattress but so far it has underperformed

The bed is awesome doesn't sleep hot at all and I'm naturally a hot sleeper. Supports the body at the same time feels firm and comfortable. Came from a memory foam mattress and wouldn't go back ever. The sheets are amazing breathable yet feel good against the skin the harmony pillow is amazing doesn't make my head hot I use to wake up to feeling hot and uncomfortable now I sleep all night never wake up till morning. It will take a week or two to get use to the feel of the material on top also if your body was use to sleeping wrong as in the wrong support and bad alignment, you will feel pain for a couple days but it will pass and you will thank the fact that you purchased this mattress.

I have severe lower back issues and was scared to try a new bed, especially with not being able to feel/sit on it in person but ours had to be replaced. I spent weeks reading reviews and decided to try Purple. It was the best decision I've made. The bed is so comfortable and really supports my lower back. I'm usually a side sleeper but I tend to toss and turn a lot in my sleep, I've noticed that I haven't been doing it as much. I still deal with some pain but I don't wake up stiff anymore and it doesn't take me 5+ minutes just to get my self out of bed. My husband loves the bed as well and is completely happy with our purchase. Overall this was a great purchase and the customer service from Purple is amazing. We will definitely be lifelong customers after the experience we've had.

I track my sleep with my FitBit and was expecting an improvement to my average sleep score. There hasn't been any change. The bed is a little firm. I'm 5'5", 140 lbs. I normally fall asleep on my back. Now I usually have to start on my side and then I roll over some time in the night. I was hoping it would have been a tad softer. My wife is a side sleeper and really likes it though. Since she's doing better and my sleep has stayed about the same compared to our old mattress, it was a net positive decision. Can't always make a perfect bed for two types of sleepers.

From the first night my husband and I slept on our new Purple, we have slept more soundly and deeply than we have in years. So far, it's been 28 days and we love sleeping on Purple. I have already directed several people to the website and asked them to watch the hilarious and informative ad on YouTube. I'm so glad we took a chance on ordering our Purple. 28 nights of great sleep and so far so good!

We love our purple bed and tell everyone one when they ask. I use to have a lot of back and neck pain and now my back pain is gone. I barely ever go to the chiropractor anymore. I was so bummed that I missed the kickstarter for the pillows but I am so pumped to get one as soon as they are released! I already told my husband that it was all I wanted for my birthday. Thanks for an awesome mattress!

I really appreciate Purple allowing a trial period and I wish that the mattress had worked for us. Other people I know really like the Purple mattress, that's why we gave it a shot. Once we decided it just wasn't going to work for us, the return process was easy and I'm very thankful that there wasn't any hassle about it. Thanks Purple for a positive experience.

After years of never been happy with our sleep quality my wife and I decided to find mattress we can be really happy with. Purple's new grid technology caught our attention so we ordered it, received in about a week, unrolled it on queen bed. If mattress can impress with the look Purple sure did, but real test followed at night. We both lay on our backs and mattress felt very comfortable, supportive where it needed to be. My main grievance with old mattress was that I sleep hot and it quickly built a heat which made me turn and toss all night. Now Purple claims to be heat neutral, but it took a little longer than old mattress, however heat build came and tossing and turning followed. I'm 200 lb and have wide shoulders and Purple is to hard to let my shoulders sink enough to aligne spine correctly so side position did not work. My wife said it was very comfortable for sleeping on her back (less lower back pain, but not upper), however she is habitual side sleeper and Purple was marginally better than old mattress in that regard. So after all that I can say that IMHO Purple is excellent choice for back sleepers who do not sleep hot and petite side sleepers with narrow shoulders. Unfortunately it did not work for us. Why 4 stars, well I am totally impressed with Purple customer support responsiveness. They let me choose local charity to donate mattress to and process refund very next day. You can not find better customer service anywhere, but could wish there is more companies like that .
