We started with a different mail-order mattress but it quickly developed depressions where we laid. The purple mattress does not do this and is extremely comfortable. If you're trying to decide between purple and some of the competitors I'd encourage you to give them a try.

We've had high-end latex foam mattresses in the past, as well as the traditional inner spring, but Purple beats them all. My wife broke her hip running and was unable to sleep on the side she injury making for a very poor nights sleep. With the Purple those pressure point went away and now she can roll and toss and turn like a normal person.

We purchased the original purple mattress many years ago when it was just entering the scene. It has been the best mattress we've ever had. We recently purchased a home, and upgraded to a Cal King, and put the Queen in the guest room. First guests said it was the most comfortable mattress they've slept on. The Cal King we bought was the standard mattress... we didn't feel we needed the Hybrid since our experience has been so great. LOVE OUR MATTRESS!

It has been over 30 days and neither me or my wife have been able to sleep comfortably on these mattresses. Her back hurts every morning. My shoulders, arms and hands all fall asleep. I can easily feel the square spaces on the mattress. I have yet to get a good night sleep, but have kept resisting returning them as I had faith we would like them sooner or later. I have gotten the best sheets they suggested etc. Unfortunately for us these are going to be returned if they won't adjust to our bodies. I will update more near the end of Feb if I can suffer the sleep deprivation that long!

Waiting till the 11th on a Twin Purp OG,(lol) Purple sheets(slate), and 2 Purple pillows. Tried at Mattress firm and decided it's worth it. I like the foam better than the springs. Just my opinion. Plus I ONLY have space for a twin so glad i didnt need to have springs (tried all 4 kinds). Can't wait, I've needed a new mattress for over a decade.

We've had our Purple 1 (the original) for about a month. Good: Very comfortable. Just the right amount of support. The polymer eggcrate grid feels weird at first, but it's pleasant and COOL to lie on - nothing like memory foam. We also have the mattress protector, which is rather expensive but I think worth it; it breathes well and isn't heavy so it stays cool as well. I can sleep equally well on my side, face up, or face down, which was definitely not the case with our old innerspring. My lower back also definitely likes this mattress better. Bad: ...I haven't found a significant downside so far. I'm wondering about the possibility of mildew developing on that non-porous eggcrate eventually, but as I noted above the mattress shell and protector breathe well, and we pull the bedding off it for a few hours every week, so I'm not really worried about it. Bottom line: We're both impressed with this mattress. It's comfortable, easy to take care of, and reasonably priced by modern mattress standards. We'll probably buy another for the guest room at some point.

It took me a few days to adjust to sleeping on a purple mattress. I'm typically a side sleeper who is trying to transition to sleeping on my back. On other mattresses I would wake up, my back would hurt, and my left shoulder would immediately need to be popped from having slept on that side all night. With the purple, I wake up in comfort. Getting out of bed I don't have to stretch to relieve any pain. Paired with a heated blanket and a weighted blanket and you have a new holy trinity for winter nights. Just hope that you don't have to get up for work in the morning.

I ordered the Purple pillow and mattress(got free sheets with the promo at the time). I was hesitant to purchase from Purple because of same bad review I had read online. I had done a lot of research to try and find the best mattress for me(I suffer from chronic lower back and neck pain). After finding another mattress I thought would be good I was going to purchase it but I still felt that the Purple was the right choice for me. I overcame my hesitation and pulled the trigger on purchasing the Purple pillow and mattress(it did help that the sheet promo was going on). I received the pillow and sheets first. I was very surprised at how heavy the pillow was. Feeling the pillow with my hand was quite amusing to me(it's so squishy). When I finally got over the initial excitement I laid down with the new pillow and I had never felt anything like it before. It was almost as if I wasn't even on a pillow. I did still have some neck pain the first night with the new pillow but I blame my mattress. The sheets were very stretchy and it was obvious(at least to me) that regular sheets just wouldn't give the full experience of the Purple mattress and pillow. A couple days later the mattress came and it too was very heavy(I would recommend getting someone to help you up stairs). Once the mattress was set up it to felt like nothing I've felt before. It is both soft and firm at the same time. Just as the advertisements say, the first few inches is a pressure relief layer and the next two are for support. For the past 2 years or so I have woken up almost every day with neck pain and the first night I slept on the mattress/pillow/sheets combo I didn't have any pain. I've now been sleeping on the combo for about 2 weeks and still wake up pain free. I tend to have bad posture so I do still have pain during the day occasionally, but the feeling of no pain in the morning is fantastic. I'm not saying that this combo cured my pain completely, because it didn't, but I am saying it significantly reduced my pain. My body is still getting used to the whole setup but I am very confident that when my body has fully adjusted(and I learn to no slouch) I will have little to no pain.

I have severe trochanteric bursitis that had me on a roho prodigy. We bought the purple in hopes that it would be enough pressure relief that I could sleep on a real bed with my husband again but nope. I'm 175, 5' 11" and I definitely was bottoming out on the buckling column gel layer. So at the moment I'm on my roho on top of the purple because we didn't have another bed to go to, we didn't return. I truly wish we did because I'd be willing to try the new 4. I don't even care that it's a lot more money, but I'm really irritated that it came out more than 100 days after we got ours. Moral of the story is that the original purple will not give true pressure relief especially in the hip area. If you need medical grade relief do not buy the original.

I ordered the original mattress and it was so comfortable when I sleep on my back. Unfortunately I sleep on my side at least half the night if not most of the night. So I exchanged if for the Purple 3. The customer service was excellent!! They were courteous and very helpful!! The 3 is much softer and feels great on my side but just too soft when I'm on my back. (I feel like Goldy Locks) I think I will be trying the Purple 2 and hope it is just right. All in all I feel this company offers exceptional quality products and service!! I would definitely recommend them to others!! Also, I love the sheets!!
