This is my second purple because we switched from queen to split king. Original mattress was 3 years old and doing great. New one is just as comfortable and supportive. If I sleep on a different mattress for 2 days while on vacation my back is killing me. I'm considering a camper van with a purple just so I can sleep well on vacation.

At first, I thought this bed was ridiculously... ridiculous? I laid down on it and didn't really know what to think, it was so strange. I put a bunch of mattress toppers on it for a week which looking back on it was me being afraid of just trusting a mattress. I have never slept on a naked mattress before... So I took everything off and for a week I have to say it was a little bit rough. It felt really firm and my ribs hurt quite a lot. I considered taking it back but after a week... I dunno what happened. I feel now sleep on a cloud. It's the best mattress ever! (My last mattress was a Tempurpedic too but as a side sleeper, those don't work all that well.) I love going to bed now and I fall asleep so fast and soundly. TL;DR: It's different at first, but it's the best mattress I have ever slept on.

We purchased a queen size Purple to replace an 8 year old Tempurpedic. The Tempurpedic had been painful to sleep on for a few years now (side pain, shoulder pain, back pain) and I was apprehensive about getting another foam bed. After reading various reviews on Purple and watching the video of the product, we decided to try it out. I love crawling into this bed at night! It's comfy getting into it and supports my body without causing any pain. Great product!

It is comfortable, but I'm a side sleeper and when I roll over to lay on my side, there's no support on the edge of the bed, it feels like I'm gonna roll right off. My husband doesn't notice but he's a back and stomach sleeper and leans towards the center of the bed.

My Husband would be up at 4 am for the last 9 years. We bought several mattresses still he would have pain in his shoulders. So we purchased a purple. We were sorta skeptical at first because it felt different. But after just 3 day my husband is in love with it .I have never seen him act like a little kid getting in bed (55 yo) .he now has no more pain and finds him self sleeping in and rested. I to am sleeping so much better for 2 reasons 1 it's comfy and 2 he stopped tossing and turning all night long .this is the best bed we have ever slept on we are letting all our friends know .thank you so much!!! For restful nights! !!!

I heard of Purple through one of their funny ads on Facebook, and I happened to need a new mattress. I'd heard of a lot of brands of foam-based mattresses that I'm sure are comfortable, but I hadn't found one yet that I wasn't sure would sleep way too hot for me. I learned that Purple sleeps cool, and was immediately interested. I read some reviews, compared, contrasted, yada yada yada, and finally purchased a queen-sized mattress. I've been so pleased with it. I'm sleeping through the night for the first time in years, with little to no back pain in the morning! I have scoliosis, so that's super important to me. I absolutely love my Purple mattress.

The actual material for the purple part and the rest of the foam making up the bed is great. The best feature of purple is the cooling ability while still retaining some kind of "squish". I can now reliably use a heavier blanket and wear pajamas during summer without having to worry about overheating. I would also imagine couples who like to play a lot can find this useful, alongside the overall apparent durability of the material. Problem is that I've found the bed too firm. The amount of tension in the material is so high that it's not practical to sleep on my belly. Back sleeping is ok but I have to be careful with my arms, as my elbows aren't heavy enough to sink into the material, thus causing occasional issues where my elbow joint is sore later trying to keep my arm up. Side sleeping is also ok, but the increased support again cause my hips to hurt a little. Ultimately gave the bed to my sibling, they're enjoying it. I've tried the more expensive variations only to be met with the same issues. Ultimately I returned said variations and am now looking for plush memory foam type hybrid mattress that hopefully cools as well as purple does.

Finding a bed that works for me is a tough problem to solve. See, I was born with a tumor in my spinal cord. I had major back surgery at just two years old, which included permanent removal of parts of my lumbar and lower thoracic vertebrae. Nearly 40 years and 400 lbs later, I'm severely disabled, bound to a wheelchair other than a few transfer steps with the aid of a walker. I live in constant pain, and typically couldn't sleep for more than about five hours at a time without waking up in horrible agony from lower back pain. My king-sized Original Purple Mattress is everything they say it is. I can sleep as long as I want now! Yes, I'm still in great pain when I get out of bed, though less than before... but while I'm in my Purple, I'm in very little pain, if any at all. Every time I get into bed, my spine goes through what I call a "decompression period" in which my pain levels skyrocket. After it decompresses, I can't get back up for a time, as my discs are very sensitive and tender during that time. With every other bed I've used, that decompression period is about 15-20 minutes, and the subsequent "can't get back up" period is at least two hours. With my Purple, decompression is down to maybe 2-4 minutes, and I can get back up less than an hour later if I have to. I can -feel- how well-aligned my spine is. It's amazing! So far, about two months into using it, it's holding up very well. I had a Tuft and Needle previously that gave up any support or firmness within two weeks and just became a saggy mess under my weight. The Purple is holding its firmness nicely, and feels just like it did the day I got it. Moving around and rolling over isn't as hard as I feared. Memory foam or pillow-top coil spring mattresses are difficult for me to move around on with my disability. I worried that the Purple would be even worse, given how much give there is in the top layer of hyperelastic polymer, but it's actually the opposite. It manages to be firm enough for easy movement, yet still soft enough to cradle pressure points, just like they say! If you're worried that this is all just very clever advertising (which admittedly, it is amazing!), and that this is just another mail order mattress, don't. It's just what they claim it to be. It's the one that's different. The patents don't lie! The specific nature of the ads don't lie either (they don't just talk about how well you'll sleep, they show you what's different about it and why, and that's a key difference!) If you have back problems, if you're very heavy, if you have difficulty adjusting to new beds or sleeping through the night, you owe it to yourself to buy a Purple ASAP!

I went from a memory foam mattress to a Purple. The first week or so was an adjustment for me. It was comfy and slightly firm. Once I adjusted, I seem to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer amounts of time. If you do end up buying one, do not rate it at least until your 2nd or 3rd week in. I really enjoy the bed now. If only Purple would ship me my pillows now I'd be set.

Its tough to buy something like a bed over the internet but we trusted the reviews. My wife is 7 mos pregnant,she looked rested and said she felt rested the night after sleeping on our king size purple. My back feels better too! I just ordered a pillow as well. Thanks Purple-Gerry
