Initial review will update as time passes: My first responses to this bed were, "this is so fun to unpack!", "oh my god this feels amazing..." and "I want everyone to feel this bed!" Right after ordering, and during the waiting process (it took two weeks to get here) I heard from a friend who had gotten the king size that her husband HATED it and she didn't think it was that great. I had read reviews that were talking about how if you're not the right weight (150 pounds or above) that you won't sink in enough and get the pressure release as advertised. Thankfully, I am not finding this to be the case at all (I am a small woman weighing 118 pounds and my boyfriend weighs 145). I can already feel my lower back and injured shoulder thanking me for this purchase. My boyfriend says that he's never had such good sleep on any bed he's tried. We will update this over the 100 day trial period!

I am a nurse that works 12 hour shifts and Have had many mattresses but none like the purple. It is amazing! Never knew what a difference a mattress could make. Slept so sound and woke up feeling so rested! It really is the best ever. Love the comfort and the look is nice.

I may try the ulimate. There are a few problems for me. With the cover on, the pad was too small and ended mid-thigh on my chair. I have super long longs from hip to knee. This actually cut off the circulation to my legs causing all kinds of pain. Next we took the cover off which allowed the cushion to spread out on the chair better, but then my bony butt bones pressed into the holes. Even though it was more comfortable without the cover, it caused my tailbone to hurt. I'm hoping the cut-out in the ultimate along with the smaller squares will work for me. We've decided to not try the bed due to the difference in comfort between having the cover on or off, similar to what sheets would do. I hope this review will help someone else choose the right pad for them.

I've been saving up and doing research for a new mattress. I'm a side sleeper, mainly on my left side and my hip is often sore from sleeping. My big purple burrito was delivered yesterday. My husband brought it in and we sat it on the existing box spring. (I ordered the Power Base, but it's not here yet) We were unrolling, taking the outer layer of plastic off, and we finally got to the sealed plactic...as the mattress laid there, I said, "it's so thin." Ha, little did I know, as soon as we took the seal off, the mattress grew...It was the most amazing thing. The first thing you notice when you lay on this mattress, it's like nothing else you've ever laid on before. I can't even explain it... other than AWESOME SAUCE!! The transfer of motion is so minimal. As I laid in bed last night, it just feels different against your body, like your whole body is being cradled, but at the same time, it's not too soft! I slept so well AND my hip was not sore this morning. No pressure points was a huge seller for me. I highly recommend this mattress. I can't wait to get the Power Base underneath it. 5 STARS!!!

My purple mattress is wonderful, so much more comfortable. My shoulders and hips sink in so my back feels great, my other mattress was like a sink hole in the middle of the king size and I could only sleep on the edge. I don't get hot at night like I did on my other regular mattress.

Went around looking for a mattress to purchase and we heard about the purple mattress. Luckily my SO and I have a couple of friends that own a purple mattress and have nothing but great things to say. Went ahead and pulled the trigger and purchased it. The anticipation was agonizing since my back has been aching for a new bed to lay on. And to our surprise the mattress arrived sooner than expected! It's been one full month since our purchase and I have not regretted it and my back is thanking me. Thanks for providing a great bed to sleep on!

I was a side sleeper and I switched to the purple from a water mattress. It started off feeling like sleeping on a rock. My arms would go numb and it felt like I needed to put a pillow between my knees. I sleep more on my back now and it doesn't hurt so much. I would have returned it but my wife travels a lot for work. Switching between hotel beds and the water mattress was difficult for her. The purple is more similar to the hotel beds so she is satisfied with it. I probably should have gotten a cheaper mattress if it isn't the miracle that everyone else said it was. It doesn't hurt like it did when I started, and I wouldn't say it's as comfortable my old (20+ years) water mattress. But I don't want to try and transition to another mattress so this one will do.

My wife and both have back issues. I was born with spina bifida and finding a good way to sleep is a chore. Purple at first seemed uncomfortable, but after the 3rd night I realized my back was straightening out. By the second week, all night sleep! That hasn't happened in years. This replaced a Sleep Number bed, by the way. Highly recommend.

I really wanted to like the purple mattress, but it is just way too firm for me. I am 115 pounds and a side-sleeper. I don't seem to weigh enough to make it actually conform to my body, so I got pressure points on my shoulders and hips, plus upper back pain. I ended up sleeping on our old mattress while waiting for the return to go through. My husband really liked it though. He usually wakes up sweaty but the purple breathes extremely well and eliminated that problem completely. This is probably a great mattress for lots of people, but it shouldn't be advertised as giving the perfect amount of support for everyone.

Our original mattress did not last and created massive holes where we slept even after regularly rotating. Purple was great about getting our replacement out right away and replaced it with the Purple 2, however, it is much firmer than the original one was. We are not sleeping well and it is causing a lot of neck and hip pain. Very disappointed.
