Definitely much cooler for sure. That part was great. My wife however has had right hip/leg/back pain in the mornings so severe that she is unable to walk fully on her right side for about 20 minutes each morning. Started getting worse and worse. We were trying to give it time to adjust but she couldn't adjust to it or the pain. Now our choice is pain or take a loss and a lesson. We tried to return it but missed the trial date by less than 72 hours.

The full size mattress is much smaller than a normal full size mattress, and I am not happy with the size. When I ordered the mattress it didn't tell me how long it would take to arrive which I found to be very odd. It ended up taking one month. The delivery date was bumped several times. So I wasn't able to stay where I moved to for a month because I didn't have a bed to sleep in. I also ordered a purple mattress protector. The website doesn't say this but it isn't zippered and doesn't fully cover the mattress; it's only like a fitted sheet. I was very disappointed with the quality and wasn't able to use my bed for an additional period of time until I was able to get a proper zippered mattress cover. Please be aware that the warranty does not get extended because of purples failures and lack of information. I ordered this bed around labor day. The representative told me it arrived between the mid to end of September. I called Jan 7th, after a 30 min hold time was told I'm out of warranty. I should be right at the end of the window tho. no exceptions for an exchange for a larger size will be made for me. I also got the purple pillow which is not something I would recommend. I would often wake up with ear pain from it. I sleep on my side. The only thing that really sets this bed apart for me is that I don't wake up sweating. It does keep me cool at night but sometimes too cold to where I needed a heated blanket. I also use a weighted blanket with it. Several blankets sliding off me in the middle of the night wakes me up every night. I will go with a different brand for a bigger mattress due to their customer service issues.

I had just the basic Purple matress. It's not a bad product but it's certainly not at all for people who prefer a more firm matress. I move a lot in my sleep and tossing and turning on that matress, I ended up bouncing slightly with every turn and it kept me awake.

Don't get me wrong. This bed is much more comfortable when on my back or side than any mattress I've had. However, I sleep on my stomach almost every time I sleep, and the mattress feels... normal when I sleep on my stomach. If you sleep on your side or back, I'm sure you'll feel a difference with this mattress, but if you sleep on your stomach, the benefits seem to be minimized.

I don't know what was updated about the original mattress other than the cover and the edge support, but I have soft mattress problems now. I have a full-sized ORIGINAL original purple at home and I absolutely love it. Firm where you need it to be firm, soft where you want it to be soft, and I wake up feeling more rested than ever. Honestly one of the best investments I ever made. I recently moved into another apartment and bought one about a month ago to take with me, and it's comfy, yeah, but now my partner and I are having issues. We're sinking into the mattress, and although it still easily bounces back when you get up, the problem is when we're actually lying down. I'm actually FALLING against him as we sleep and rest in it, so not only does it make cuddling a chore, but since we're both side sleepers, we both wake up with back, shoulder, and neck pain because of it. It also doesn't isolate movement properly anymore and that is incredibly disappointing. We both get up frequently in the middle of the night, and now we just end up waking each other up. Strongly considering returning it and just moving the one I have at my previous home since the old original is no longer available... kinda sucks though because I won't have a bed to sleep in when I visit family. Never thought I'd have to leave a bad review for this mattress, but it's not what's advertised anymore. :(

I have a wonderful experience with the company. They were easy to do business with. Alas, the bed was too firm for our comfort. Neither of us were able to get great sleep with the mattress. It did help with helping manage my body heat, but it wasn't for us.

We have had our purple original now for a couple weeks. This is def not a bed for a back sleeper. I do not feel any contouring from the bed at all when on my back. I do tend to sleep more on my side and that seems to get a little relief as I have a lot of lower back pain. I will say, I do believe I sleep cooler than the memory foam we had prior as I have not woke up with sweat all over my head and neck since we have had the purple. My husband said he sleeps hard since having the purple so I think he likes it better. I'll give this a couple more weeks to decide and a trip or two to the chiropractor to see if I can get any back relief.

I love purple, the company policies and level of expectations for their brand is very nice. The first night a slept on my mattress is kind of needed to thaw out from being in the cold. I get amazing sleep on it I just don't know how much more I like it over a regular mattress yet. I'll come back again in 6 months see if I can give it 5 stars!

I bought it in hopes my back would stop hurting. I've woken up with a huge knot behind my shoulder and sometimes I wake up feeling like my ribs are bruised. I called to ask to return it and they said you have to have it for a minimum of 21 days because thinks like what I'm experiencing are normal.

My wife and I both agree that Purple is our favorite mattress we've ever slept on. We knew we didn't like our previous bed, but we didn't realize how much it was negatively affecting our sleep. Purple is cooler at night. I've yet to wake up hot or sweaty. Purple does a great job of isolating movements. The ordering process was easy and fast. We look forward to many years of great sleep on our new Purple.
