As the title says, the hype over these mattresses has kind of set an impossible expectation on them. It has had a subtle but still noticeable impact on back pain. Have to take down one star for how outlandishly heavy and difficult to move that sucker is. Took 4 people to get the king mattress up a staircase and set up. Totally worth the buy if you're settled in where you live.

We replaced out pillow-top mattress which was still ok but this is really much better especially for sleeping on side. We purchased the stretchy sheets and my wife likes them. I like the bottom, but the top sheet needs to keep being pulled back up. Not sure how to explain that, but I am hoping she will agree to use a standard top sheet which should not affect how the mattress performs.

On the positive side, the purple mattress is cool and it doesn't crater like some memory foam mattresses. On the negative side, at least for side sleepers, is that it is extremely firm. It would be a great mattress for back and stomach sleepers. But side sleepers, beware. There just isn't enough give to it to avoid pressure points. Because I'm a side sleeper, I'm only giving it two stars. If it weren't for the two positives I've mentioned, it would have been only one.

I wake up every morning as a new person. I used to have back problem but after using purple bed the back pain has gone. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends! It is one of my best investment I made. Your body heals while you sleep and with purple bed helps!

I sleep on my side and it's hard to find a mattress that doesn't wake me up with pain in my hips and shoulders but then I found the Purple and it's technology lets me sleep fully and wake up refreshed and pain free. I have one in the guest room so my guests can experience the Purple too.

This mattress felt good initially, but was just too firm for me. The issue was with the return, which was not quick and easy, as they claim. It took 2 hours of phone calls to find a shelter willing to take it, as long as we also provided a boxspring (which fortunately we had), and delivered it to them, in another town. In all, I lost about 4 hours of wages. Btw, who in the world only sleeps in one position? I put "side" just to get this review accepted.

Top is so soft that it's extremely hard to change positions. I actually injured my wrist while having to lift my self higher than while on our tempurpedic. The repetitive pressure and strain gave me tendinitis in my wrist. Switched back to the Tempurpedic Contour Elite and the wrist problem is going away. It was a horrible mattress for my pregnant wife. She had such a hard time turning over on it, that we finally had to return it only after a month. We so wanted to love it, but it truly did more harm than good. My wife and I are pretty athletic people. I'm 43 and she's 31. I'm 5'10" 195lbs and she's 5'7" 145 at 5 months pregnant. The two stars are for the customer service at Purple. They were great and handled the return/donation professionally.

I would have given it five stars but it does hold body heat. If my partner is sleeping beside me, it quickly gets too hot to sleep comfortably, even if I am only under a sheet. Outside of that... I can't say enough about how great this bed is. Best I have ever slept on!

Since we got our Purple bed we've slept like babies! I used to have to sleep with an ice pack to keep me cool through the night but I haven't had to use one since we got the Purple. It keeps both of us cool through the whole night. I used to wake up several times during the night; usually because I was sleeping on my arm and it "fell asleep" and was tingling. With the Purple bed I have relief from pressure points causing me discomfort. We really like the fact that the Purple forms around our bodies but doesn't leave an indentation in the matress like most memory foam matresses. It springs right back into shape when we move. All in all, this is a great bed at an excellent price! We have recommended this bed to several friends and three so far have decided to purchase one for themselves!

I was skeptical that it wouldn't be as comfortable as it actually was, so far I'm in the second week and I've woken up with absolutely no pain at all! This mattress is probably the most comfortable one I've ever slept on. Though it took a lot longer than I wanted it to, to get here. Its definitely worth the wait and I promise you'll love it too!
