This is a really cool mattress, and for normal sized people, very comfortable. This isn't purple's fault, and I'm sure if I bought the "new versions" it'd be different, but I can't justify that. Basically be warned, if you are overweight at all, this mattress is too thin and will be uncomfortable for you. We have a platform bed and I feel like I'm laying directly on the bed frame every night. My significant other loved the mattress and is much lighter than me. Luckily, purple is great and is issuing a full refund.

Once upon a time (when I was first born, probably) I had no back pain or issues with my knees. Ever since then, I have always had concerns because I'm swayback and my kneecaps slide out of joint causing pain and inflammation. I grew up on pillow-top mattresses tall enough for a princess but while comfy didn't really help/hurt my back, etc. My most recent pillow-top mattress was pretty good but collapsed over time to where I felt like I could slide off the bed and fall prey to the shadow monsters lurking below. So I bought an expensive Tempur-Pedic mattress that even had the cooling feature. They said to give it 30 nights but it only took one for my lower back to feel like it had been beaten by golf clubs for 8 hours. I banished that mattress back to the manufacturer. Enter Purple, my knight in shining armor. Ordered it online (figured why not? nothing could be worse than the Tempur-Pedic) and a week and a half later the king-sized mattress was at my front door looking like a fancy purple crepe. After trying to get it upstairs by myself (I'm a tad stubborn..) my husband and I joined forces and got it into the bedroom. We unpacked it, gave it an hour to unsquish, put on the Malouf mattress protector followed by our comfiest sheets. No joke, I lay on the mattress for 2 minutes and the back and knee pain literally start melting like lipstick you accidentally left in the car on a hot summer day (FYI it's messy and sad.. RIP Nars) and it's wonderful. It gives the support I need like a good bra, but I still sink into it in places like I would with a soft mattress. No, I didn't try the raw egg test. But if this mattress can cradle my fat butt I'm sure it can cradle an egg. BRB SLEEPING

I bought this bed as a Christmas present to my boyfriend who has back problems also gets hot at night. Works like a charm, before he couldn't sleep at all he would wake up a countless amount of times through out the night. Now he gets a full nights sleep. Honestly a miracle the only thing i dont like is because its on a metal frame the bed slides a little. I just put a grip pad on it and now i have no issue!!

After months of intermittently sleeping in the guest room to gain relief from knee, hip, and shoulder pain from our too firm mattress, I found instant relief with Purple. And now, I get to sleep on my back if I want to without a back ache. I can sleep on my side without developing a burning pressure point on my knee. I can even sleep on my stomach, a feat not seen since I grew breasts at puberty. It's amazing. I'm in love.

We purchased a king size Purple 3 mattress, it is so comfortable and doesn't retain heat. We live in a hot and humid area of the country and it is wonderful to go to bed at night knowing you won't wake up from sweating. I would recommend it, try it, you will be surprised.

I was initially really excited about this mattress and did a lot of research and trying out different beds before deciding on the Purple. It seemed comfortable once we got used to the weird feeling of it and liked it for a little while, but it's caused a lot of back pain for me. I toss and turn and wake up with aches and pain. My hips don't sink into this bed much at all and it feels like I'm sleeping on a board. I get much better sleep on my old mattress that's in our guest room. My husband complains that he overheats on this mattress and it does seem to trap heat in the grid. We'd like to return our purple mattress or try to exchange it, but we're past the 100 day return period so I haven't tried getting in touch with customer service... We should have went with one of the brands that has a 365 return period. Currently looking for a different brand mattress and we haven't even had this mattress a full year yet. I really wanted to love this bed. I'm bummed.

My back was killing me, I was tired of waking up because of back pain and not because I was ready to get out of bed. Granted our old mattress was 16 years old, eek! I live in Arizona so the temperature control was big thing for me. I decided on the Purple Mattress, and from day one my back was so much better! I think since our old mattress was so bad there was no transitional time for me. I am 5'6" and weight 127 lbs. so I was worried it would be a little too firm for me. It was not, it was perfect. I can't say enough good about this mattress. I have had it for a few months now, and still feel the same way about it. I will be replacing all our mattress with the purple mattress when the time comes. Thank you Tony and Terry for creating an amazing mattress at an affordable price!

I LOVE this mattress. I've spoke so highly of it to friends and co-workers they think I'm secretly employed by your company. I was a daredevil in my youth and am paying the price with stiff and crunchy joints now. This mattress has done wonders for my sleep but more importantly I'm able to get out of bed virtually pain free. It take a while to figure the logistics of a normal pillow with such a phenomenal bed but I've heard you rocket scientists even have an answer for that. I'm eager to try the new purple pillow. In short, if you are looking to wake up without the " broken glass" feeling in your lower back and neck this is the bed for you!

Had heard good things via podcast advertising about the mattress and happy to report: it's working out well! Glad to finally upgrade from our former, more traditional spring mattress. The density is just right, the grid makes it breathable, all around excellent quality.
