We had a horrible bed and I have a messed up back, after herniating a disc. I also had upper back problems that caused my hands to go numb every time I lied down. It hurt, a lot, to sleep in this bed, but that changed. I combined aerial yoga with this new bed and after several weeks my back improved immensely. Give the bed a chance, allow your body time to adjust, and look after yourself.

I will say I am very impressed with the Purple mattress. My old pillow top mattress was giving me joint pain and I couldn't get comfortable but since I have had this Purple mattress, I don't wake up with pain. I will say it does take getting used to but I believe any mattress you purchase does take time to adjust. I am extremely pleased so far with my purchase. I have noticed I am sleeping better and waking up with no pain is great! I do recommend this mattress.

I bought the original Purple mattress King size for my son when he just bought his first house. I haven't even seen the mattress as it was sent to his house. He loves it, can't say enough about it. He sent me pictures, looks great! shipped quickly, he likes the set of sheets that came with it also.

The mattress arrived like a huge log on our porch. I was shocked how heavy it was, and it looked like it was going to be about the same thickness as the Purple Pillow. We kept unwrapping, and unwrapping and it popped open like a jack in the box!! And it is the about the same thickness as a "normal" mattress. This was something that my daughter had been begging for, and she got it for her birthday. We have all had naps on it, but she is the only one who has slept on it all night, and she loves it. We are curious enough to want to try the next step up, and should be doing it soon!

Worest company I have dealt with in 10 years. They use the cheapest shipping company. So just trying to get the mattress was a headache. Then the mattress doesn't even compare with tempur-pedic when it comes to pressure points. It was cooler than 12 year old tempur-pedic. Purple mattress not worth 100 day trial. Plus they pull crap like not taking things back, like the base, which is needed to try out mattress. Not a good company to do business with! Very unsatisfied!!! I would give 0 stars but it makes me put 1.

Bought the original Purple king size. Very comfortable until it collapsed where we sleep by the 12-month mark. At 18 months we gave up and bought a Purple 2. I have never experienced back pain this consistent and intense. It's going back and I'll never buy a Purple again.

The Purple mattress has a unique feeling to it. When you lay down on it, you don't sink into it. That's not to say that it's hard. It's just that it feels quite different from my previous mattress which was very soft, so soft that it probably didn't provide much support even though it felt nice and squishy. I don't wake up sore like I used to, so I certainly appreciate that. Soon the summer weather will hit and I'll be able to see how "cool" the Purple sleeps. That's one of the main reasons I purchased it. So, yeah, the Purple doesn't feel super cuddly and soft, but I'm thinking cuddly-soft mattresses don't do your body any favors in the long run. I'm glad I bought the Purple and would recommend it to others.

Wish we would have found this mattress many purchases ago. It is absolutely the best! We have no more hip, back, shoulder, or leg pains. I don't toss and turn and my husband doesn't snore anymore or wake in the middle of the night with leg cramps. Every time we get in the bed, it is like getting on a new mattress. It doesn't remember your body indentations, goes back to new when you get out. And it doesn't get warm, stays cool. Best mattress we have ever had! Researched for over a week and chose this one. The time spent was well worth it. It is a little pricey but, so far, we think it is a good investment and one we hope to have for years to come. HIGHLY recommend!

I've had my Purple King for about 2 weeks now. Great weight displacement this mattress has! I really enjoy how firm the mattress feels when sitting on the edge of the bed...but when laying on it it feels very cushy and supportive simultaneously. This is also the first King sized be that I've ever owned...which makes it that much better! Not sure how it compares to the other modern mattresses out there, but I am satisfied with my purchase... I would purchase again. Thank you!

This may be a bit of a hefty post but hopefully it will help some of you out there as well as Purple in continuing to improve their products. First off I'm about 140 lbs, pretty thin; and I am pretty much exclusively a side sleeper. I prefer a softer bed, although I haven't really done any extensive studies of different bed firmness. I think due to my side sleeping I expected this bed to work really well for me because I imagined if I was sleeping on my arm that it would kind of dig into the Polymer while the rest of my weight was supported. So my arm wouldn't go numb, and at the same time due to it's design I wouldn't be super hot. I basically expected it to be a cloud of awesome. I purchased the new Purple 3 Mattress about a month ago. Initially I noticed it actually felt firmer than my old bed (my old bed was just average I would say, nothing too fancy) which kind of took me off guard. I was expecting it to be softer and really cradle me like I was sleeping in a cloud. I did notice the Hyper-Elastic Polymer when I was sitting on the bed or sitting up, but when my weight was distributed it just felt harder than my old bed. I didn't keep count of how many times my arm went numb, but I do feel it happened a bit more with this bed versus my old bed. If I was a bit heavier (perhaps 160-170lbs?) I think it would have really cradled me a lot better, but for me it felt like I was just sleeping on a flat board. In my personal opinion, I would be very interested if the Hyper-Elastic Polymer on the bed was just a bit more firm than the pillow is. Before the bed arrived I laid on the pillow and I thought, "If this is what it's like and it still keeps me cool it's going to be great." So maybe that's something they might look in to in the future. Like having different consistencies of polymer vs just 2, 3 or 4 inches of the same consistency. I would probably be willing to give it another chance if that was the case. As far as temperature goes I did feel that it slept a cooler because I was able to up my AC a bit and wake up really comfortable as far as temperature is concerned. I'm rating this three stars as it seemed like a pretty average bed to me. This doesn't take into account the price. For me it wasn't worth the price when my bed isn't super old, and I didn't really notice a difference. The rating also doesn't take into account their customer service because I wanted to make this just about the bed itself.
